St. Stephen's in-the-Field Episcopal Church's Fully Fenced Yard In San Jose

Hello! We’re just getting started hosting with Sniffspot and are excited to host you! Please let us know what we can do to improve the space. A past guest let us know we needed better signage, so we got a bright blue sign printed and hung it on the fenced area. Another guest mistook the community garden (incompletely fenced) for the play area (completely fenced). If you see vegetables, the area is not completely fenced! You're welcome to explore, just be respectful of the gardeners and plants please. The avocado tree overhanging the play area is dropping fruit right now, so if your dog likes to eat random stuff on the ground please be careful! The play area is tucked between St Stephen’s in-the-Field Episcopal Church and the left hand fence (turn from Santa Teresa Blvd onto Avenida España, then take the first right and head to the back). There are two churches on the lot, ours is at the back, with ample off street parking and lots of gardens to explore, in addition to the enclosed play space. Feel free to message with any questions!

Come visit our large backyard smack dab…. Available to you are dog toys, mosquito repellent, citronella candles, hose, trash can, sprinkler, pooper scooper, poop buckets, TWO kid pools, and comfortable seating for up to 8 people! Parking is available in the driveway to the left of the shed, and entrance to the yard will be to your right. We are working on perfecting the walkway. Let me know if you have any questions! The trampoline and deck on site are not for use. Need a pet sitter? Feel free to ask more questions!

We had a great time. The space is secure with lots of spaces for the pups to explore. Not alot of space for long runs but enough and private.

The sniffspot area was great and exactly as pictured. But to be honest we did not make it inside. There was a service going on and people going in and out of the tool shed with wheelbarrows all right next to the fence and gate to get into the spot. Our dogs would have definitely barked and we did not want to disturb the church goers. We will try again, next time making sure there are no activities.

Very nice well fenced, shaded spot. Our dogs had a very good time playing. It is big enough for the dogs to play, but we are both to see them except for one small spot behind the building.

The yard is shaded and much cooler than the surrounding area so my dog could play longer safely. There is grass, dirt, concrete, and tan bark. There is a gorgeous overhanging avocado tree and a couple avocados were in the yard. If your dog eats random things on the ground, you might want to do a scan first or pick a different spot. (Avocados are toxic to dogs.) There are some foxtail grasses but 10 minutes of weeding could nullify it. It doesn't overpower the space and it is native afterall. We did see wildlife! We saw lizards and beetles which were very cool. My dog had a fun time and it's such a cool hidden spot. I wish there was a bowl or water jugs kept inside the fence and might leave some myself for future visits and other people. My dog is XL (125 lbs) and this spot did not feel cramped. It is secure and I would recommend it. Also very kid friendly

Perfect spot! So many smells leading up and inside the area! It was clean, private, easy to find and quite the fun little adventure for my reactive bully breed. Coming back again with a friend!

Clean and quiet spot and full of yummy smells!! A little tucked away, (which is great for privacy and dogs who get distracted! but a little hard to find the first time out.) They preemptively provided helpful instructions and were very friendly!
