55So fun! Plenty of trails to explore and interesting smells for the dogs. Would recommend more than hour if you can do it to give your dog enough time. Will definitely return!Caelyn C.

55Excellent adventure for my dogs. One of our pups is still working on recall and this was a perfect place to practice with a 50 foot lead.
We plan on visiting again!
There is other animal scat- on of my pups ate some. The host already shared that you can hear gun fire. Our dogs are fine with fire works and guns but if your dog isn’t okay with loud bangs it might be stressful. Ace (April) C.

55This property is so much fun! My dogs went nuts and ran and played and my stick obsessed probably thought she landed in heaven.
If you’re coming from Tacoma please make sure to give yourself plenty of time as it’s deeper in the cuts of yelm and not yelm city limits. Wear sturdy shoes that are weather resistant because some areas are swampy but still worth walking through. Small game trails are properly marked along the forest service road.
Extend your hour by a half hour and run all the trails with your dogs. Great place to test your dogs recall and how far you can get before they come back unless of course there’s a beautiful stick that your dog wants ;)McKenzie W.

55This was such a wonderful visit for my pups. They really loved discovering all the small trails that branched off the main logging road. It was such a unique experience for them. I would highly recommend this spot. Amanda H.

55Always a wonderful place to explore - the dogs love it. Lots of smells and textures and an occasional deer sighting makes for very happy and tired Border collies. Bring good mud boots so you can fully explore - this is beautiful land to wander Liz S.

55Amazing spot with lots of room to roam, side trails to detour down, and smells to explore. Great signage keeps you within the property. Can't wait to come back in the summer and check out even more areas that are currently a little waterlogged right now.Lauren L.

55This is our 2nd time visiting. It’s a WONDERFUL place to get out of the city and get out of your head. Be sure your dog has a recall as this property his big and there’s plenty opportunity for them to run. My apartment dogs LOVED the free range running. We will definitely be frequenting this place more. I briefly met one of the property owners and he was very kind.
Bring water, poop bags, and be mindful to pack out what you brought in :)McKenzie W.

55Lots of land for my pup to run around, smell new things, and explore. Very secluded, loved being able to enjoy the trails without having to worry about someone coming around the corner and having my dog react. Will definitely be coming back!Shania N.

55Great place to explore with your dog! The hosts were very timely in responding to questions and very gracious when we showed up a bit early (it was easier to find than we thought.) The trails and property lines are clearly marked and easy to navigate. It feels very private and secluded, but very easy to find your way back to the main trail. Lots of scents to investigate and lots of birds to serenade your walk. It was a great easy morning in nature and we definitely recommend!Candyce C.

55Great spot, we had a lovely walk. The host was kind and reached out ahead of time to prompt me to contact them if I needed anything. But everything was very easy to follow and find luckily. The main logging road is relatively short, it ends at a string of "no trespassing signs". A lot of the exploration space will be the little off-shoot trails, which the hosts have been kind enough to place markers on to make it a little harder to feel lost. Keep in mind this is a densely wooded scenery, the trails can get narrow. As well you may see wildlife so always be prepared. I didn't get a good look at it but we say some kind of a dog/canine at a distance, it did run off after I watched it for a few seconds.Bailey S.

FAQ about our Yelm dog hiking trails
Are dog hiking trails safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, inattentive owners, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks are much safer than a city or county park. With a Sniffspot off-leash area all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 93% of reviews on Sniffspot visits are 5 stars. Our hiking trails tend to be outside the city, which lends to more privacy, but it is also important to follow typical hiking safety precautions, such as potentially having trail maps.

How do I know if a dog hiking trail works for my dog?
Sniffspot provides the tools to find the ideal spot. Start by applying basic filters, such as fencing 6 feet tall and distractions, to find a dog park with trails that works for your dog. You can also filter by size if you are looking for a certain acre park, an expansive off-leash dog park. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our fully fenced dog hiking trails. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our dog hiking trails where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. Since you are looking for trails, make sure to check photos to see if it the spot has flat trails or gnarly trails. You can also browse by specific amenities, if you are looking for a view or a beach, for instance, or other activities or fun features. You can check whether the spot has off or on street parking, the regular park hours, whether it has paved trails or a modern restroom.
What are the requirements to bring my dog to a Sniffspot dog hiking trail?
In order to hike the trails, we require that all dogs have basic vaccinations or equivalent titers. We do not permit dogs with a bite history. We require that guests sign our waiver and agree to follow our safety rules.
