We live on 15 acres, and now have 1 acre fully fenced in! It is all very flat land making for an easy stroll with your dogs. We are boarded on two edges by farm fields and two edges by neighbors. There is a marked trail that circles the property, with still plenty of space to explore. When there is hot weather, please take advantage of the small kiddie pool we have at the greeting area. During the winter, the trails are not shoveled, so please dress appropriately.

The 50 acres is mostly timber, with a 7 acre pond that has water in it most of the year. It will dry up on really hot years. I do have chickens and pack goats by the house. But they are inside mesh fencing, so your dogs won’t be able to get to them. The 50 acres is completely fenced with a 3 to 5 strand Barbwire fence. It’s in good shape. It is also the property boundary. So as long as you stay inside of the fence, you will be on the property. There are not a lot of neighbors but the ones I have are nice. When you come up the driveway, you can pass the house and drive up on the hill and Park at the conex container. There is lots of wildlife on the property, and I highly recommend that your dog has some sort of tick repellent, we do have ticks in the spring time. The upper part of the driveway is not graveled, so if there’s melting snow, or a lot of ran, it can get muddy. So be prepared for that. I hope you enjoy the property as much as we do. ***ALL PRICES LISTED ARE IN USD***

55The location was stunning with tons of different types of landscape for my dog to explore. We've been to a few different spots and this was definitely her favorite. There were lots of toys, a trash can, poop bags, pretty much everything a pet parent could want. The trails were well marked, and the instructions were clear, which is always helpful.

55Always a wonderful visit. We enjoy exploring at "Club zoomies" and the walk up and back is always nice. There were gunshots in the area this time so we headed down to enjoy s'mores at the firepit instead of exploring more and it was the perfect spring day. Can't wait to visit again.

55This place is epic! It took us a bit longer to get there than expected but the drive was beautiful. We went on a sunny Easter Sunday and were met with Easter eggs filled with dog treats - so cute! Nice trail leading up to the open area, felt like we were on a hobbit adventure! Signs are everywhere which helped make the adventure more enjoyable. It was peaceful and just what our pups needed. The zoomie area is great with chairs, balls, water and bubbles! If your dog has recall issues wouldn’t recommend off leash since only partially fenced. Could hear dogs and gunshots in the distance but didn’t bother our reactive dogs much since they were busy exploring! Lovely getaway from city apartment life - Can’t wait to come back again - fun for humans and four leggeds!

55Such a well-kept, beautiful space to explore trails and play with the pup. We had an awesome time! Everything was well explained. When we first got there and started walking to the Zoomie area 2 German Shepards ran towards us barking, but they were behind a fence, maybe being walked in the adjacent DNR land. Our dog isn't reactive but maybe for those who are, that would have been triggering. Something to keep in mind, there are parts of the property that back up against publicly used land. We would totally come back here any day!

55The instructions were very clear and easy to follow. I appreciated the signage and postings along the property to let you know where to go / not go. As a city gal, I totally passed up the street to turn on the first time. Oops! The host is really communicative which is always great. I heard a dog bark one time (literally one bark) and I am pretty sure I heard a person say hello - but I called Virgil to me and kept moving. Lots to smell, and is just like a trail except it’s private :) We will definitely make the drive up again some time! Virgil had a blast. We were there about 90 minutes and easily could have spent another hour at least. There were tables and chairs throughout the sniffspot.

55Dogs had a great time. Our border collie was in sensory overload :-) Lots of trails to wander around….especially the neighboring DNR land. Everything is well marked and appreciate the water/bowl up near the pasture. Will be back again.

55This spot was cool had a little bit of everything with a pond/trail/stream. The kids had fun eventhoughit was very wet. First half of the property isn't off leash and it's good to have some recall since it's not fully fenced. Even so the kids and dogs had a blast.

55A delightful spot. So glad to have visit. Wonderful winding trails through enchanted old growth woods. Well marked so even a directionally challenged person like me cannot get lost. Very well thought out to the finest detail. Will be excited to keep this in our rotation for my reactive boy. We did see some horses that belonged to the neighbor. It always make me so happy when my fearful boy is so accepting. Looking forward to next time.

FAQ about our Coeur d'Alene dog hiking trails

Are dog hiking trails safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, inattentive owners, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks are much safer than a city or county park. With a Sniffspot off-leash area all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 93% of reviews on Sniffspot visits are 5 stars. Our hiking trails tend to be outside the city, which lends to more privacy, but it is also important to follow typical hiking safety precautions, such as potentially having trail maps.
How can I find dog hiking trails in Coeur d'Alene?
There are 4 dog hiking trails in the Coeur d'Alene area. The most popular dog hiking trail is The Doggy Dome. You can browse all of our dog hiking trails here.
How do I know if a dog hiking trail works for my dog?
Sniffspot provides the tools to find the ideal spot. Start by applying basic filters, such as fencing 6 feet tall and distractions, to find a dog park with trails that works for your dog. You can also filter by size if you are looking for a certain acre park, an expansive off-leash dog park. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our fully fenced dog hiking trails. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our dog hiking trails where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. Since you are looking for trails, make sure to check photos to see if it the spot has flat trails or gnarly trails. You can also browse by specific amenities, if you are looking for a view or a beach, for instance, or other activities or fun features. You can check whether the spot has off or on street parking, the regular park hours, whether it has paved trails or a modern restroom.
What are the requirements to bring my dog to a Sniffspot dog hiking trail?
In order to hike the trails, we require that all dogs have basic vaccinations or equivalent titers. We do not permit dogs with a bite history. We require that guests sign our waiver and agree to follow our safety rules.
