55My husband and I drove almost two hours to the Sniff Spot. Once we got to the dirt arena we enjoyed the Mountain View’s the location offered while our three dogs sniffed around, read all the pee mail, and went potty themselves. My dogs didn’t know what to do in such a large space lol, but we’re pretty tuckered out when we left. The only thing that could have made it “better” is to reinforcement the gate that leads back to the ranch Maybe have signs that show how to get to the river/stream. My recommendation is to ask them to use the agility course if you have a high energy dog. It looked pretty legit. Stephanie S.

55Had a wonderful time in the arena playing ball. The tree in the middle was absolutely perfect, great shade and there were chairs to sit on and the ground was just turned over so it was nice and soft for the pups feet. I took a stroll down to the creek which was wonderful the water was nice and cool. A little rocky for my dog's feet but other than that it was really serene. We'll be coming back for sure.Romana C.

55A little hard to spot, but the directions helped. It's a large fenced corral, the dogs loved it! They were VERY dusty, there is a big tree which offered shade, and it is located in a valley which protected us from the wind. Great trip will be going back! Rachel L.

FAQ about our Santa Barbara dog parks
Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 94% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the Santa Barbara area are 5 stars.
How do I know if a dog park works for my dog?
You can filter Sniffspot dog parks by fencing and distractions. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our 10 fully fenced dog parks in the area. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our off leash areas where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. You can also filter locations to avoid other domestic animals and people. We also recommend reading reviews and reaching out to the host with any questions.
