55First time trial off the leash for a dog that wants to run a lot. It was a good first time because of the excellent fencing. Very clean.
25Everybody has glitches...Could be a Top Spot with just a little effort! PROS: Great fencing, large yard; sun and shade; short grass; yard has flat side and steeper side (good to use up doggie energy playing fetch;-) owner was friendly. CONS: Gate wouldn't open as directed; 30 min trying to resolve eventually housemate let us in; lots of old poop in yard; standing, rusty water; access to unknown storage items under deck.
55great space for dogs to play
35The host was very nice and allowed to bring an extra dog, which we did pay for. She put water out for the dogs right away which we appreciated. The fencing is sturdy and high enough to keep large dogs in. The only negatives were that her dog was in the yard when we arrived and barked at our dogs, and also there was feces in the yard. We picked up some of it in addition to picking up after our own dogs. I am sure this was just an oversight since the owner seems to care.
55Lovely
55This is a wonderful neighborhood, and the yard was very peaceful. My dogs enjoyed sniffing around. Nice little afternoon getaway!
55We are so grateful to our lovely host for sharing her space with us! The dogs had a wonderful time and the yard is clean and well- kept.
35The yard is a steeper hill than I expected, but having access to water and a trash can was a plus.
55Such a great yard for the pups to run around! There were also chairs in the yard which was great. Thanks for providing your space for us to use :)
55Great yard great host. Would go back.

Location

Asheville, North Carolina

Description

If you need a better idea of where it is, it's within walking distance of the East Asheville Farmer's Market, Library, Fire Department, and Wells Fargo. I'm also close to Bull Mountain Rd. A few Announcements: Recommendations: 1) Please clean up after your dog. 2) If you book an evening time, be prepared with a flashlight, or know when the sun sets. I have outside lights, but I can't guarantee they will always be on, and they don't illuminate the whole yard. The space: A wide open space with rolling hills for your dogs to play, while you enjoy the view. *The sprinkler is actually a garden hose that is a "soaker" hose. It sprays water out of it like a sprinkler. There are plenty of sticks you can throw for the dog to fetch. (The location is 5 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, 5 minutes to Downtown Asheville, and close to the Folk Art Center. The newly renovated Haw Creek library and playground, Creekside Tavern, and High Five Coffee are just down the street. You can also walk to the Haw Creek Farmer's Market from here on Fridays, 3-6 pm. You can walk straight from to the Mountain to Sea trail from here without having to drive, and hike to Lunchbox rock (seen in pictures here.) I included the porch pictures so you could see the sunset. :) ) There is hand sanitizer, sunblock and bug spray under the stairs, under the side of the bottom step that you are welcome to use.

Host replied: Yes, sorry about that. That is not usually the case for either the dog being out in the yard or the feces. Thank you for picking up after both- that was above and beyond!

Hi, my name is Rachel, I recently moved here to Asheville from the Charlotte area. I feel lucky to have been able to find a home with a really big back yard, that made me think- "this place is just crying out for a dog." But thus far, I have been a cat person. I do like dogs, but I'm not sure I'm up for the challenge of having one yet. But in the meantime, I am happy to have found this way to welcome dogs to play in this back yard. Have fun!
