***Charges are in USD*** It’s a fully fenced yard for your dogs to sniff and run around. We welcome all size dogs, the place is exactly as in the pictures. There are chairs, table, poop bags (in shed), trash can, and garden hose ( in summer only) in the yard for guests to use. You can choose to bring your dogs poop away or put it in the small green bin (organic bin). Please make sure your dog poop is fully wrapped by poop bag before you put it in the bin.

***Charges are in USD*** This is a 1.5 acre field that is perfect for off-leash and distraction free time with your dogs! This space provides apt enrichment for dogs of all ages. The space offers a combination of grassy fields, small wooded area, and a small pond for dogs to run and explore. There is a seating area and garbage bin for owners to use. This Sniffspot provides your dog the opportunity to just be a dog! When you book a visit you will be the only person on the property, so there is no risk of distractions caused by other people or animals. Please park in front of the big gates and enter the park through the green gate to the left. If you have a new pup that is having recall problems, or you have a reactive dog, this is a perfect stress-free environment for them to enjoy. They will be able to run and play without risk of getting too far, or seeing another dog. We also offer an assortment of agility equipment. Please set it up and return it near the trees at the end of your visit. We offer a discount to anyone with foster dogs, please reach out for details. Please note that the app uses USD, so expect a 30% increase due to the exchange rate. There are some burrs on the hill under the trees. ***IMPORTANT: all prices listed are in USD and guests will be charged in USD*** BRU’s backyard oasis is a great space for dogs to run and play. A little bit of country in the city :) I have dogs of my own but they will be kept inside or out with me during your time. There will be fresh water bowls for the dogs and bottled water for humans. 100% of the proceeds will go to help run our small dog rescue! Thank you for your support from rescue dogs everywhere!

This is a private rental, when you book you are the only one in the space. We have three areas for you to enjoy, all are fully fenced and are included in the rental price. We have a fully fenced acre of woods with a trail that goes through to explore. It is accessed through the gate in the backyard. We also have a front yard and deep backyard, great for running, fetch and recall training. The yard is 1.5 acres and also fully fenced. During the summer you have access to two seating areas including a picnic table, gazebo for shade (seasonally) a 30 foot tether is also available if you would like to have your dog stay beside you while you relax. During the winter, paths are plowed in both yards and in the woods within 3-5 hours of a significant snowfall. Hard packed snow and mild weather can create icy sections on the property, we put down sand and pet safe ice melt on the trails to help. Feel free to contact us for trail conditions before booking. All dog breeds welcome, reactive dogs welcome.

Exactly as advertised, easy to find, easy parking, nice open space. My only issue, which is my own personal issue, is that I have a fearful dog - and I was not expecting there to be dogs surrounding the yard. Now that I know, I will be more prepared with high value treats! Thanks for hosting me and my pup, all in all - a good time.

A very nice spot. Some balls and toys are provided which certainly was appreciated. A waste bin is also available to use. My only issue was the gate to get in/out was not fixed to anything, it was just wedged in between the space and would be easy to knock out of place. It was also low, but I have a Great Dane so that might not be a problem for certain dogs.

Very welcoming hosts, The Barkyard is extremely large! Our golden retriever only lasted 30 minutes before he was tuckered out! Highly recommend this spot, our dog was super happy !

Great spot. Was visiting Ottawa/Gatineau and brought friends dogs for some enrichment. Secure spot with plenty of room to run around. There were a few mushrooms around the bushes along the back fence line, but these pups knew better and listened when I said “leave it.” It’s most definitely a spot I will come back to. As I make the drive from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania to the Ottawa/Gatineau area monthly. (To see the dogs, of course!)

The yard is super nice and huge! The fence tall which is nice and secure enough for any size dog. This yard would be amazing for a dog who doesn’t mind potentially seeing other dogs. The fence is a chain link (as you can see on the pics) so if the neighbours have dogs and go outside, your pup would be able to see and interact with them through the fence. The owners have two beautiful Aussies that were hanging out in front of the glass sliding door, but I am sure you could arrange with the owner to have them away from sight while you are there. Like I said, this would be a great spot for a friendly dog who might just need a secure place to run around.

Sunny & Meeks have loved visiting Ricky’s Private Dog Park! It’s a beautiful open space with lots of room to run & play. :) There’s a lovely, gentle 13 year old dog just on the other side of the fence that may pop over to say hello so if you’re dog’s not triggered by other pups, then it’s the perfect spot for you!

Has everything you need! There are some chairs to sit, garbage bin etc. The fences are secure and high, but if you have a reactive dog it is at a busy intersection where they will see humans and/or dogs walking by. It’s perfect for us and we’ll be back.

My dogs had an amazing time! The yard is very clean and spacious enough for my 2 large dogs to be able to run around and play. It is easy to find and the instructions were clear. My dogs loved the mini pool the owner left out for us, and definitely appreciated the water bowl! (The neighbours small dog barked for about 10 minutes when it heard my dogs and I playing. You cannot see the dog, so my dog was not effected by this.) Thank you for opening up your beautiful yard to us! Two tired, happy dogs after the visit!

Are dog parks good for dogs?

It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.

Are dog parks safe?

While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks.
