This was my first sniffspot ever! Sophie was really nice in allowing us to bring our doggy pool to fill up since it was super hot this day. We enjoyed our time here and our puppy loved it!
Nice yard for the dogs!
added signs and a garbage can heck yes!
Great sized space, the lowest fencing felt about 3-4 feet high which was high enough for my medium size dog to be well contained. There was water and toys on site as well. Neighborhood is very quiet and lovely.
Every time I come back here, it gets better bit by bit. I've been coming to this property a few times a week for about a month, and I've watched it grow from having only a small area not overrun with spikey plants and foxtails to the rough areas getting hacked down. Now the spikey plants seem to be disappearing as Sophie works on making the space better and better for dogs. Things I like: water source! Water bowl! Half shade half sun! Flattish space to run! There's a garbage can! There's a place to park off the street! Things that can be better: Those dang foxtails and spikey plants completely disappearing More space to walk from my car to the gate A garbage can right by the space sp I don't have to walk it to the other side of the building to pitch If you have a dog with sensitive paws, bring booties or this isn't a good spot for your pup. same goes for dogs with fur that collect debris like velcro. Other than that, I enjoy this place. Sophie is aware of these things as I messaged her about them, and I know that foxtails and spikey plants are always an ongoing battle in spaces like these. I look forward to continuing to come here with my groups. My dogs clearly enjoy coming here to run, rest in the shade, and play with the variety of toys that are around. It's a great reprieve from public spaces!
I read previous posts that said the foxtails were gone and they were not. You can tell a large portion of the yard was treated(lots of dead weeds/ grass) but they are growing back, along with another spiny plant. Another part of the yard was completely overgrown and not usable. My dog did have a good time with all the fluffy stuffed animal toys but we really couldn’t throw her balls for her because there was minimal space to run. The yard could definitely use a little TLC.
Host replied: Hi Megan, those photos DO NOT show foxtails. Also, the section that you accessed was previously inaccessible (behind the oak tree where no one is supposed to go) and is now 100% cleared of any weeds. We sincerely apologize for the remaining weeds, but that part was not supposed to be accessed. The only way to get rid of everything completely is to use Round Up, which we will NOT do. My partner and I have to clear them out every so often by ourselves, because we DO NOT use pesticides or any herbicides. I’ve messaged you privately for a promo code to make up for your less than five-star experience. We hope you come back and see the improvements. We’re just starting out on Sniffspot, and seeing you’ve just joined and only gone to 2 total including mine, I encourage you to re-evaluate our spot holistically and compare it to others in the area. Los Altos Hills is full of nature but that’s what makes it unique. Please do not mislead others with this review - my spot is perfectly enjoyable and safe! I’ve ordered a poop bin, dispenser, pooper scoopers, and signage from Sniffspot. My spot will have even more amenities. We deeply care about you and your dog’s experience! Thank you, Megan, and have a nice day!
My dog enjoyed the space. He did a lot of sniffing, ran after his ball and laid in the shade under the tree.
easy to get to, clean, spacious. enough shade for it to be comfortable for the dogs even on a hot afternoon.
Nice big natural space, my dogs loved it.
Plenty of space to play catch and they also had water available! Thank you for sharing your space so my pups can run.
