55This a beautiful place, more beautiful than anticipated. There are little quant details throughout the many places to explore. We definitely needed more time as did the dogs. Many trails and many places for the dogs to play in the water. This is an gem of a place. The owner was very kind and helpful. He gave us a bit of a tour to make sure we knew about the details of the property. This is a must!!Kristy T.

55Another great experience at John’s and Stephanie’s farm. Definitely The Spot for you and your dog if you’re looking for a bit of an adventure out in their beautiful land with streams and creeks and socializing your dogs to their farm animals. Truly couldn’t find a better place to be on our social distancing Thanksgiving day. The pups came back dirty, happy and exhausted. John and Stephanie were also very accommodating; offered us a towel to dry our pups before we leave home and told us where the bathroom is should we need to use it. I am looking forward to another outing at this place next week and bringing my friend and her GSD along. Kate T.

55A puppy paradise! This was such an amazing and enriching experience for our 5month old GSP. From running the trails all the way down to splashing in the creek, every minute of our time there was full of fun! The hosts are absolutely delightful. Cannot wait to visit again! Ally J.

55If I could give this spot more than 5 stars, I would! John and Stephanie are incredibly welcoming and kind hosts and the spot is amazing. Their animals are all so chill and used to dogs, so it was a great chance for my city pups to meet the friendly goats on our way through the pasture to the Sniffspot. The Sniffspot space is truly a wonderland for pups - streams to splash in, wooden bridges, trees and rocks to climb on, open spaces for romping, so many trails to explore, and an adorable cabin where you can relax on the porch for a bit. Come prepared for some mud and slippery bridges if you visit during the rainy season, but it's SO worth it. I recommend booking at least 2 hrs to fully explore all that this spot has to offer. We've been out from West Seattle twice now and will absolutely be back - my dogs lost their minds with excitement when we arrived for our second visit! Kate S.

55Loved it! My pups had so much fun and met a cow! Played in the water too! Our host was amazing and showed us around while still being safe with social distancing and wearing a mask. Would highly recommend even with it being a bit of a drive. Definitely worth it! Cassandra B.

55When we first arrived John came Outside and gave us a full tour of the property to ensure we didn’t get lost. My dogs absolutely love this area, they can swim and run until they drop and they even got to say hi to some goats. Not only do my dogs love this area, but I do as well. Absolutely beautiful and you get the hiking experience without a bunch of other people around. Kelli P.

55Such an amazing experience for my pup and for us! So much land for them to roam freely, jumping around the creeks and pretty waterfalls and running everywhere!! My puppy got to meet the goats and the cows they had there. They even helped spray off my dogs legs & dried him off before we let him back in the car. Definitely recommend this place and will be back! Amanda B.

55This was our first SniffSpot experience and it was truly 5 star!
We were greeted warmly by the hosts and their goats! John led us through a gated pasture with goats, hens, bunnies, and 2 highland cattle which was a great experience for our dog (on leash) and us! Once in Spring Acres, it’s off leash and we had so much fun exploring! The trail system was very well maintained with clever trail signs made of wood. There is a very cute cabin under construction at the center of all the trails and John said we were welcome to sit on the deck and hang out. I wish I would have packed a lunch for us since I booked two hours. A few of the trails were muddy due to the recent rain, but the nearby streams were a great place for Bentley to wade in and wash off. My husband, daughter and I enjoyed hiking and exploring the trails as much as Bentley did! Great day! Jayne M.

55It was our first time using sniffspot and we couldn’t have picked a better place! I took 3 pups and 4 kids with me and we all had a blast! The dogs and kids played hide and go seek and there were plenty trails for them to run around safely. We will be back! Julia U.

55Gorgeous and fun on a rainy day in winter. My partner and I have been sick with a cold and our one year old German Shepherd was on minimal exercise for almost 2 weeks, so we decided to bring him here and let him run off some pent up energy for about 90 minutes. We strolled through the woods on short looping trails as he dashed around us and splashed in the creek. It's a good size space for dogs who like to sniff and explore but not stray too far from their humans. If your dog is prone to wandering far or chasing wildlife it might not be the best place for them off leash as the fencing would not secure a determined dog. Mine, however, ran face first into the 4 foot high wire grid fence in a fit of euphoria and felt very silly after. He is used to short and flimsy fences and doesn't try to get through them, so it worked fine for us.
I imagine it's really lovely in summer, there's even a patio with some chairs for humans to lounge. However this area, and the open spaces that would be good for fetch or chase, are closest to the driveway and closable, but not fully secure for the determined canine, swinging gate. It's about a 50 minute drive from our house in the best of traffic conditions so I don't know how often I'll return, but it's a great spot and I would definitely like to come back when I can.Simon C.

55Still my favorite spot around! My doggos love the trails and I never worry they can escape bc the whole area is fenced. We stay up above the house in the maze of trails stopping by the stream for a refresh every so often. Tranquility Trails is private and magical! Kristin s.

55We love this spot. Nice trails and a stream to play in. My only recommendation would be to add more obvious/ bright signage on the wire fence by the stream. It's clearly marked for human eyes but multiple dogs we've brought have gone tearing around the corner and run right into it! Thanks again for sharing your beautiful property! Karli L.

FAQ about our Hoodsport dog hiking trails
Are dog hiking trails safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, inattentive owners, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks are much safer than a city or county park. With a Sniffspot off-leash area all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 93% of reviews on Sniffspot visits are 5 stars. Our hiking trails tend to be outside the city, which lends to more privacy, but it is also important to follow typical hiking safety precautions, such as potentially having trail maps.
How do I know if a dog hiking trail works for my dog?
Sniffspot provides the tools to find the ideal spot. Start by applying basic filters, such as fencing 6 feet tall and distractions, to find a dog park with trails that works for your dog. You can also filter by size if you are looking for a certain acre park, an expansive off-leash dog park. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our fully fenced dog hiking trails. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our dog hiking trails where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. Since you are looking for trails, make sure to check photos to see if it the spot has flat trails or gnarly trails. You can also browse by specific amenities, if you are looking for a view or a beach, for instance, or other activities or fun features. You can check whether the spot has off or on street parking, the regular park hours, whether it has paved trails or a modern restroom.
What are the requirements to bring my dog to a Sniffspot dog hiking trail?
In order to hike the trails, we require that all dogs have basic vaccinations or equivalent titers. We do not permit dogs with a bite history. We require that guests sign our waiver and agree to follow our safety rules.
Will there be other dogs at the Sniffspot hiking trail at the same time as me?
Sniffspot only allows one booking at a time and any host dogs are required to be kept away from the spot during visits. We also enforce 30 min time buffers between bookings.
