55John's property was absolutely beautiful! We brought three dogs here and they had so much fun sniffing and running through the little trails! We definitely can't wait to come back. John was great at explaining where the trails end and making sure we knew where everything was. Cherv Cherv L.

55Lovely and private, with space for parking a couple of cars and nice loopy trails for wandering. The supplied dog water jug and bowl was great, as were the extra amenities like a garbage can for poop bags and bug spray. This would be a great place to bring a picnic lunch in the future!Joy A.

55Our second visit, and we had a great time! Puppy zipped around the trails for awhile, and then played ball on the lawns by the buildings. It's a good spot for down time too, so I brought a book and read in the sun while the dog rolled in the grass and explored nearby. Suzanne S.

55LOVE this spot! 5 acres with all kinds of hills, little trails, and there’s even a creek towards the back, which is an added bonus. Erin is a great host! Plenty of signage, fresh water for your pup, throwing sticks ready for you to toss, even s’mores ready for you to make if you want! Very private and relaxing 💜Rebecca V.

55Our two English Cocker Spaniels had a wonderful romp here today. Everything they love was there in one place: mossy, woody trails, a creek to spash in, and a grassy lawn to roll around on. Everything is conveniently set out and well marked, including chairs on the trails for humans to take a rest. We will come again!Courtney S.

55I got a bit confused (should’ve paid attention to my GPS!!) & Initially went to the wrong Black Pond Farm SniffSpot.
The host was very understanding & helpful though, & figured out my mistake, directed me to the right place & graciously allowed me to stay my full hour (since by then I was halfway into my reserved time)
Woodland Tranquility Pathways was an awesome getaway for both my tripod Lab AND me!
Very peaceful and nicely groomed trails, & Frida was thrilled to cool off in the creek!
Since Frida can’t walk too far without getting tired, we probably didn’t even find all the trails available, but I like that we were able to choose short or long loops.
Will most definitely return! Lennis M.

55Beautiful place to go for a walk in the woods. Wear shoes or boots with some traction. Trails are well maintained and easy to explore. Host provides a lot of extras. I was happy to find a poop depository bucket by the lockers. I’ve had to drive it home at other SS. Beautiful little creek runs through this area. The dogs loved exploring, and I loved being in nature! Be mindful of potential to run into horses or deer once you cross the creek though! There is open wire fencing along the path after the creek that I didn’t see beforehand, and one of my dogs took off like lightning across a field, I think after a horse, but I actually couldn’t see what he chased after as the house is pretty far off. My city dog apparently has no self-preservation genes. He recalled back after causing chaos somewhere by the house. Anyway, leash up before crossing the creek if you’re unsure how your dog might do around other animals! Otherwise we had no other encounters. Lindy L.

55This is one of our favorite spots! My dog is recovering from a dog attack and it was so nice to be able to let him run free without worrying about running into any other dogs or people! Kate C.

55This is one of my favorite sniff spots! My dogs don't go in water and they don't fetch, so I mostly look for places with wooded areas that they can sniff. This spot was the perfect mix of a large grassy area where my dogs could play with each and trails. There were also great amenities like fresh water for the dogs and chairs for people. Host was amazing and let me adjust my spot by 30 minutes when I got stuck in traffic on the way to spot due to a truck that slid off the highways and had to be towed. We will definitely be back!Susan G.

55Wahoo! This was our first ever Sniff Spot visit - Cooper and Samm gave it 5 stars. We are apartment dwellers so have a place to run and sniff off leash was lovely. There are little trails to run up, down and around - easy footing me. There is a small creek nestled inside. Fencing is marked. The pups - who am I kidding - Cooper the 14 year old was delighted to have a special Thanksgiving treat from our host Brenda! Huge thank you from the 14 year old - who also ran around. Samm - the 5 year old was too busy chasing (?) who knows what - she just likes to run! There was plenty of room to play fetch and fresh water was available. I don't have reactive dogs but if you did - this would be a great spot for them too.Cheryl P.

FAQ about our Lakebay dog hiking trails
Are dog hiking trails safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, inattentive owners, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks are much safer than a city or county park. With a Sniffspot off-leash area all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 93% of reviews on Sniffspot visits are 5 stars. Our hiking trails tend to be outside the city, which lends to more privacy, but it is also important to follow typical hiking safety precautions, such as potentially having trail maps.
How do I know if a dog hiking trail works for my dog?
Sniffspot provides the tools to find the ideal spot. Start by applying basic filters, such as fencing 6 feet tall and distractions, to find a dog park with trails that works for your dog. You can also filter by size if you are looking for a certain acre park, an expansive off-leash dog park. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our fully fenced dog hiking trails. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our dog hiking trails where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. Since you are looking for trails, make sure to check photos to see if it the spot has flat trails or gnarly trails. You can also browse by specific amenities, if you are looking for a view or a beach, for instance, or other activities or fun features. You can check whether the spot has off or on street parking, the regular park hours, whether it has paved trails or a modern restroom.
What are the requirements to bring my dog to a Sniffspot dog hiking trail?
In order to hike the trails, we require that all dogs have basic vaccinations or equivalent titers. We do not permit dogs with a bite history. We require that guests sign our waiver and agree to follow our safety rules.
Will there be other dogs at the Sniffspot hiking trail at the same time as me?
Sniffspot only allows one booking at a time and any host dogs are required to be kept away from the spot during visits. We also enforce 30 min time buffers between bookings.
