55Best host's, great adventure for your pet (and exercise for you as well as pets!) Trails, running creeks, chairs...etc. They take such great care of the place. Marked trails, and they will give you a map of the different trails. There's a great place for your dog to take a swim. Peaceful and beautiful. My boys love it and so do I!!!Linda L.

55One of our top 3 favorite sniffspots. The dogs enjoyed the creek and the map of trails was helpful. You really can not get lost as there are the cutest signs letting you know where you are. Lots of small bridges and benches for you to enjoy. My dogs had the zoomies they were so happy running all around the trails. We will definitely be back! Vidara K.

55First, you meet your awesome host. Second, he escorts you with your dogs on leash through the pasture, which may include bunnies, chickens, goats, wild turkeys, and two very mellow Scottish Highland cattle. Then you are “set free” in the flat grassy area which borders Coal Creek. After that, there are wooded trails up the hill, if you choose to climb. I love this place and only wish I could get there more often. (Note to self, make a point of it.) Steph and John are genuinely happy to welcome people and dogs. Evelyn R.

55It's no surprise that the glowing reviews brought me here, and now I find myself wholeheartedly agreeing with them! I'm left wondering about the little things like how they keep the grass so perfectly trimmed in this vast place. Do the goats have a part in that? Speaking of goats, we spotted one wagging its tail at my dog! I hope that means the same thing in 'goat language.' Beyond my musings, what can I add? The dogs had a blast swimming and running. This spot is just pure fun, and we'll definitely be returning.KT E.

55The most pleasant and well kept sniff spot we have been to. The trials are beautiful, fun, and the trail signs are well made. John came out and introduced himself, gave us a map (very cool), and a tour! Overall such a lovely experience and the dogs loved it. Anna W.

55A M A Z I N G ! ! !
This was the best Sniffspot we’ve been to by far. John was very welcoming and showed us the ropes. He understood we had two very young and spastic golden retrievers lol. His wife Stephanie was very sweet as well. The property itself feels massive. What a treat to walk through a pasture full of farm animals (on leash or course) to get to the Sniffspot. There are ample trails, mixed terrain and the most beautiful flowing stream. We have a 1 yr old golden retriever, Levi, and a 5-month old golden retriever, Oakley. Oakley lived for the water! She swam for the first time, too. Levi was able to practice his swimming skills, too. There are little holes deep enough for safe dog swimming though I’m sure the stream changes through the year. What a magical place. The dogs loved watching the farm animals, too. So many new experiences for them and we’re so thankful to have been able to enjoy your slice of heaven. We will definitely be back to explore what we didn’t have time for! Both dogs were knocked out on the way home, very unusual for Levi :) Kimmie H.

55Even in the rain this is our dogs' absolute favorite place to go! John is incredibly kind and welcoming and their property is gorgeous. When the pups need to burn off some energy and we want to enjoy some time in the woods without worry of other people or dogs, this is our go to. Can't recommend this spot enough :)Cierra B.

55Fabulous trails, streams, and spots for contemplation. John was a responsive and gracious host. My boxer had a blast and slept most of the way home (which is rare because he likes to watch the road). Thanks for opening up your property to a perfect stranger.Jeanne A.

55Our pup had the time of his life. The perfect spot to let him run out a view knowing their weren’t other dogs around. Tons of sniffing and play in the creek. Long drive for us but worth it for an hour and a half of stress free play time for us all. Kayla E.

55We had such a lovely time exploring this property! Fall colors, endless mushrooms, creeks and adorable bridges. Plus the cabin is great to listen and take in the beauty. Be careful, bridges are slick and there is some brush that needs to be trimmed. We had a lovely time and the host was so sweet. Her farm animals are so happy and healthy! Taylor M.

FAQ about our Black Diamond dog hiking trails
Are dog hiking trails safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, inattentive owners, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks are much safer than a city or county park. With a Sniffspot off-leash area all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 93% of reviews on Sniffspot visits are 5 stars. Our hiking trails tend to be outside the city, which lends to more privacy, but it is also important to follow typical hiking safety precautions, such as potentially having trail maps.

Since you are looking for trails, make sure to check photos to see if it the spot has flat trails or gnarly trails. You can also browse by specific amenities, if you are looking for a view or a beach, for instance, or other activities or fun features. You can check whether the spot has off or on street parking, the regular park hours, whether it has paved trails or a modern restroom.
