After opening the gate under the JP LONGSTOCK RANCH sign, and shutting it behind your vehicle- you can park next to the shed and let your dog run free in the very secure and spacious ranch hillside. The spot consists of 3 acres fully fenced with a shed and picnic table offering a rustic ranch experience with views of the huge almost 100 year old historical barn where the Buffalo Soldiers once kept their horses. Now used as a breeding and riding ranch, you will likely see the unique leopard spotted Appaloosa X Friesian horses in their paddocks or turned out enjoying kicking up their heels (sometimes with their babies) in the nearby arena. The shed has electrity, free Wi-Fi, privacy, drinking water for you and your companion(s), fire pit, colorful picnic bench, couch, chairs, and table stocked with puzzles and old school games. The area is large and wide open for your pups to play and run with some large trees, a kiddy pool and horse shoe pit. Enjoy the spectacular desert mountain views surrounding the rustic charming ranch. We offer rock painting, using our metal detector to discover old treasures left by the soldiers, tours of the barn and meeting the horses all at a small additional cost if you choose to add some extra entertainment. If not, just enjoy your time with your pet(s) and make yourself at home. The vibe here is very laid back, clean and welcoming. We can cater to almost any requests so please let us know what you would like your experiences here to be like or any special events or instructions to give you the most quality out of your time at the ranch. 160 acre ranch with 2 acres of grass around a 2 acre lake with two shade structures with seating and a waterfall into the lake. Ranch also has 3 1/2 mile 25ft wide trail for walking your dog as well as other trails around the property with great views of the surrounding mountains And fields. With 2 sides of the fence, standing 6 feet tall, while the other two sides are fenced at 4 & 5 feet in height. This ensures that your dog can freely enjoy their playtime while staying safely contained. As you enjoy the serene surroundings, you might hear chickens, roosters and goats in the distance and catch glimpses of squirrels and hawks. And if you're lucky, maybe even a curious gopher or two. Nature truly thrives here! When you arrive, simply park horizontally next to the fence and enter through our black metal door, which will be open for your convenience. Doggy bags are available for your use, ensuring a clean and enjoyable experience for everyone. We also offer Homemade bug repellent. Feel free to use it, be aware that some of the ingredients may cause irritation/allergy. Ingredients: Rosemary, lavender and citronella grown in our property, lavender and citrus oil, cloves, water, alcohol, organic soap. Please be aware that a lot of ground squirrels live on the property, so there may be some holes, please dress appropriately when you visit (no heels recommended). We also kindly request that you maintain a distance of at least 5 feet from our neighbor's fence, located at the top end of the property. Our neighbor values their privacy greatly, and we aim to ensure a harmonious environment for everyone. Do you love hiking or walking your pup in a natural setting with loads of smells and places to explore?! Then you’ll love our yard- with extra big boulders for the whole family to enjoy climbing or places to rest and listen to the sounds of nature. A few “heads up” about our spot: - the path to get to backyard is a bit steep. 👟Perhaps plan to wear appropriate footwear🙃 -like most places in San Diego there’s a possibility of snakes and we did have a recent sighting, so please use caution - the fencing on bottom right of yard is a different material, but still secure without any ways for pups to get out, but it can at times shift with weather and may be more possibilities for a pup to go under (I try and check often)🌿 - on the bottom left of the yard their are fire stick succulents🌱 on my neighbors property-the sap of these plants are toxic, so best to stay away! -lastly, if you are planning to come on a weekend morning- our neighbors typically play pickle ball at this time which can be a bit noisy and a distraction to some pups- they’re usually done by 11am. There's an uphill incline for better exercise. Fresh water available for dogs at all times. There’s a small 3 tier shelf to place your belongings on. Dogs are welcome to dig. Taylor pond is a 5 acre pond located in the heart of Poway. The amenities include a grass yard and yard in the back filled with wood chips and a eucalyptus grove as well of course as the pond. Keep in mind when you bring your dog we turn to work in the yard and also rent out a building in the back to Airbnb. So please make sure your dog is friendly with people.

We have a covered patio with plenty of seating, fire pit area, volleyball court, flowers, fruit trees, hummingbirds, and lizards, with shaded areas as well. We also have a table and BBQ grill (add as an extra) in case you want to enjoy a meal while you’re here — and toys and a water bowl for the pups.
