I love my townhouse, but the downside is that I have no fenced backyard for my 1 year old golden, Finley, and I feel really bad about the fact that he never gets to run off leash. I have taken him to dog parks a few times, but I don't like to because you never know what kind of dogs or owners will be there. I'd always wanted to set up a playdate with a doggy friend, but we had nowhere to go.
I scheduled an hour with this host, and brought along Finley's friend, Alice, who is an 18-month old golden. The instructions we received prior to our visit regarding where to park and how to access the yard were great. The yard itself is fantastic; lots of room for 2 big dogs to get up to speed while chasing each other or a ball, and there's a slope which I think helped tire them out! We brought our own toys and water and supplies, but the host had left out a bowl of water, the hose, a big fluffy towel, poop bags, hand wipes, sanitizer, and several dog toys (a couple of which were new and not even out of the package). The patio has a table with umbrella, which is great to either get out of the sun or to step out of the rain, like I did a few times today. I was a little apprehensive about whether there would be any breaks in the fence, but the yard is fully enclosed.
Initially I had added a kiddy pool as an extra, but the host wasn't going to be able to get back in-time to fill it and have it ready, so she texted me the night before and said we could fill it ourselves when we got there and she'd ask Sniffspot to refund us the extra fee. We didn't end up using it since it was sprinkling on and off and wasn't hot today, but I appreciate that it was there if we needed/wanted it, and the fact that she wasn't going to charge us. It would be a great addition on a hot day, I'm sure.
This was a great experience, and really helps address my concerns about not having a big fenced yard for my pup. It's a big grassy space, safe, and clean. Finley and Alice had a blast today, and we are already planning another visit next week!Racquel C.
