Hike up the mini forest

Our property is shy of 12 acres, 9+ acres of which we're sharing as a private off leash dog space or Sniffspot. The entrance is over the bridge where the creek is and 'From Creek to Back of Property' is all yours to explore. You may unleash your doggies right after the bridge and chain the gate if you want. Dogs might run down the creek for a splash or drink. Continue on to our family campground, there are picnic tables you could use. Then, up the hill you go to 'hike up the mini forest', free to roam around, listen to the birds, squirrels and other critters and sounds that nature brings you. You'll find seating areas while your dogs are at play, feel free to use them. Enjoy a picnic with your loved ones if you're up for it on one of the cabin porches or covered / uncovered picnic tables. The back of property behind fence is DNR land, so rest assured you’re on your own private little world with your furry buddies. The mini forest has some large walking paths and smaller trails scattered about, also some open meadows and is at a peaceful wooded setting. This is where I go to unwind and relieve my head of stress and worries. It’s my place of meditation, while my dogs sniff and romp around like crazy, do their zoomies and play hide n seek! *If you want to save a little bit of moolah, I offer membership. Forget about the gym, you'll get your exercise here with your dogs. If you are a member of my sniffspot, or have older dog/s and would like to drive below or up the hill to park so the fur buddy don't get exhausted, message me.* Some of you have asked about the cabins. Sniffspot is unavailable if Cabins are booked or vice versa. Booking is through Hipcamp (www.hipcamp.com). Name of listing: 'Grace E.'s Mini Forest Cabins'. Check it out by copying and pasting link below to browser or search listing through the hipcamp site. https://www.hipcamp.com/en-US/land/washington-grace-e-s-mini-forest-ex9hrrp8?shareid=1ddvuyvr3yh Saturdays are usually blocked if there's Hipcamp bookings. But I would unblock the hours for Sniffspot use if that day isn't booked for Hipcamp, so please try to check back, who knows that day might be available! Anyway, hope you too will enjoy your little 'hike up the mini forest..'

22 forested acres with private trails and an open field area located in the power line clearing. Includes private land access to state forest trails with views. Once you park you will see the trail entrance into the forest in front of you. Take the trail down to the creek. Water levels in the creek vary depending on the time of year. Cross the creek using the foot bridge and head through the forest. In about .3 miles you will come out into the powering clearing. Feel free to explore everything in front of you and to the left (north). There are several wide open grass spaces in the power line to play fetch or just let the dogs run and be dogs. If you follow the power line trail to the left, then follow it up the hill to the forest on the other side, there is another trail that enters the forest. This is all state forest and not easily accessible to the public. This trail will lead you to the top of the mountain on your right. Hiking this round trip will take about 2 hours. Approx 5 miles and 900 feet elevation gain. If interesting in doing this hike please ask me for details.

Our property is located off the Burn Road in Arlington and is 5 acres, 1 of which is fully fenced and there are about 3+ acres of woods that have a trails throughout that we are constantly trying to add onto. Access to the backyard will be through the double gates on the south side of the house. Access to the trails can be either gate along the back fence. We just ask that you close whichever gate you use upon entrance and exit. The trails currently are just shy of 1/4 of mile looping back to the gates of the fenced in backyard. We do have a seasonal pond in the woods that we plan on trying to expand access too (it’s a work in progress). The fence is 3.5 feet high split rail with chain link very secure, the back portion of fencing is strictly chain link same height but acts as a natural looking wild fence. Dogs can play ball, sniff around, and run off lease in the fenced yard. Dogs with good recall can be off leash on the trails and run throughout. We do have neighbors where our woods end that are mostly fenced but some do not have fencing (which is why recall is needed). There is no delineation between the neighbor to the north’s huge pasture area which would be off limits. Please enjoy yourself and let us know if you have any ideas to add to the property. The pictures were taken during the winter months, the property and trails are so much prettier during the spring through fall months. Thank you for stopping by.k

Woodland Tranquility Pathways - find solitude!

Off-grid Sniffspot location in rural Snohomish Washington! You will have the entire 5-acre property to yourself to enjoy! This part of our property is only used for Sniffspot guests. Would be perfect for those that don’t want to interact with others (i.e. cars driving by, strangers, the neighbors... ‘chatty hosts/property owners’😉). Safe place for adventurous individuals that prefer to explore alone with their doggo(s), a doggie daycare retreat, a memorable late evening of star-gazing, or a safe place for a highly reactive dog to have fun. Details: 5 acres, off-grid experience (no power or running water) with it’s own private entrance. Two grassy sloping yard areas with “Tranquility Trails” that loop up the hill. Secluded, native woodland with mowed grass. There are (overgrown) cottage style gardens. During your visit, feel free to pick blueberries, wild blackberries, apples or roses — or pull weeds — if that’s fun for you. 😉. This location is very relaxing. Plan for a couple hours or more to enjoy the quiet, rural lifestyle. TIP: if you have any concerns about your pup(s) going down the driveway, feel free to close the gate for added safety. Note: We are raising money to renovate the cottage located on the property by hosting a Sniffspot. Please do not explore inside the house, a roof collapse could happen before we can arrange for it to be replaced.

We have a number of wide moss covered walking trails through the woods. The property is fully fenced with wire fencing. But it is NOT dog proof fencing . There is a natural wide buffer between trails and fencing in most spots. The west side has privacy fencing, hogwire fencing on the North and a creek borders the Southend. . We have dogs on the property but they do not go venturing into the woods unless we are with them.

124 Acre Conservation Farm Trails Fields Fun

Follow our FB page for open days. Farm store now open! Swing in before your appointment and grab some retro sodas, dog beer (YES I SAID DOG BEER!), artisan smores kits and so much more! CASHLESS sales at the store please. Malaney Creek Farm is a 124 acre conservation farm comprised of fields, forest and wetlands. 3+ miles of private trails, open grassy fields. Trails are marked to keep you pointed in the right direction. Picnic tables, covered areas to duck out of the weather and portable restroom with hand sanitizer. Your sniffspot staging area is located in what we call our "Cascara" campsite. Covered picnic table, adirondack chairs, firepit and a big green grassy field. This spot is a central location near the portable restroom, easy drive in access, and a base location for exploring the trail network. Our trail system has been a labor of love. We enjoy providing unique experiences and highlighting the natural beauty of the forest and wetlands on the property. Once home to giant cedar trees the property was purchased by the Great Northern Railway in the late 1800's. A railroad system was built here and the giant cedars logged and milled onsite. You wouldn't be able to tell that now as the forest is doing a wonderful job of repairing itself. We do have a few artifacts scattered about that have been found that you will see on your walks. A large concrete trestle base, railway beams, rail spikes and misc metal items from the trains and equipment. Most of our trails accommodate hiking and mountain bikes (yes E-bikes are allowed ;), however the hiking only trails are really evolving. Our new wetlands trail is a quick link between Casacara and the Beargrass island trail. It is foot traffic only and features hand hewn cedar bridges made from cedar logs left behind by the logging operation over 100 years ago! Log rounds to hop across wet areas and places to stop and soak in the quiet. There is a diverse landscape of rare native plants on this hike and foraging opportunities abound! Fiddle head ferns, chicken of the woods and more! Our most prized flora is a large patch of Labrador Tea. A very rare species of plant related to the rhododendron that native american peoples used as a medicinal healing tea. So come out and explore! Bring appropriate footwear, your furry hiking buddies, a bottled water, and a camera. We look forward to hosting you! PLEASE NOTE, IF YOU CANCEL WITHIN THE 2 HOUR WINDOW BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT THERE ARE NO REFUNDS. WE BLOCK OUT ALL DAY BOOKINGS FOR SNIFFSPOT APPOINTMENTS. Check out our website, insta and FB page for more photos too! Happy Sniffing!!l

MMF is preferred by puppies, dogs, people, adults and kids alike because it has potable water, power, picnic tables, chairs, several firepits, lit portapotties, 3 swing sets, 3 slides, monkey bars, 3 Forts, a log bridge to cross over Little Ames Creek for when the creek is flowing, a doggy playground, lots of picturesque moss, lighted parking lot, woodchip trails and many footpaths over 5 forested moss covered acres. Parking is near the road, separated by 50 ft of woods, so we suggest that all our doggy friends be leashed until they are on the trails with you. Please leash your dog until into the forest away from the parking area, after that Bob's Your Uncle! Watch kids and dogs in the parking area near the road, and at Ames Creek. A secluded place to dork out and have fun, enjoying a natural Pacific rainforest. Note that the creek is dry in midsummer until the fall and winter rains kick in. Boots are recommended in the fall and winter. Find a map of the main trails in a photo on our MMF Sniffspot site. There are lots of foot trails through the understory ferns. The log bridge can be used to cross Ames Creek, or you can ford it to discover the rest of Magical Mossy Forest Sniffspot. Please pack out doggy bags with you because there is no garbage pickup here, please leave no trace. If there is a downpour and you want to wait it out there is a dry shed in the parking area. Access to power helps keep your batteries charged. Please carry your toilet paper (sorry it walks away). The portapotties are cleaned once a week. Please visit our Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61555379018442 Let us know if you have any questions. Synchronized play bowing to you!

Emily's Private Dog Park In Sedro Woolley

Enjoy this completely private dog park on over 5 acres of property on the beautiful Bacus Hill. To get here, follow google maps most of the way. When you see the mailboxes on the left (a little before where maps takes you), you'll also see an area where you can pull off and park. There is a maintained path that leads straight down to a bridge, once you are across the bridge, the entire open area is available for you and your dog to roam and explore. On the walk down, you will be able to see our house and our fenced yard with our dogs, but once you cross the bridge it will be private. A few warnings/disclaimers: 1. There is wildlife (bears, cougars, etc.) in the area. Use at your own risk. 2. The bridge has some (fairly obvious) broken/soft spots on the west side. Watch your step! 3. Beyond the open area to the east and south begins to get into other neighbor's property. It is not the end of the world if your dog goes there for a bit, but please try to keep them mostly in the open area.

Please Note: 11/25/22- I’ve decided to open up the calendar for a bit to allow reservations with greater ease, but I do still ask that you message first in case someone related to our forest cleanup project is on-site. 10/1/22- At this time the property could be potentially available for your use, however, we are preparing for the forest cleanup project that we’ve been working towards with the DNR for over a year. If you are interested in visiting here, please message and if it works out I’ll be happy to accommodate you. 07/01/22- Important: The Sniffspot platform does not allow hosts the option to approve or cancel reservations, as such I have blocked my calendar to more easily control reservations. I often don’t know until last minute when the forest manager I’m working with for the DNR forest cleanup project is on-site, the logging will take place hopefully this winter. — This 21-acre forest with a large beaver pond is classified as a class-A wetland. In addition to this, you can find a shallow creek, beaver dams, old-growth forest, and phenomenal bird habitat. Find privacy and quiet with the exception of the songs of many birds and woodpeckers. This property was once a show home, but a fire took place over 10 years ago and the house was not rebuilt. While the ruins that remain are minimal, it sets an interesting backdrop; perhaps it can be the scene for a mysterious photoshoot. Within the property is a small orchard, we do ask to try to not let the pups do their business there. Spring 2022 Update: One picnic table have been added to the property.

55Another great visit! This is definitely our favorite sniff spot, already booked again. Lots of space to run off leash and fully fenced so don't have to worry as we work on recall. I forgot to bring water and a bowl this time but Host had water and a bowl available, very thoughtful. Thanks again for sharing your lovely property, we look forward to many future visits.

55This spot is incredible! The pups loved romping in the creek, exploring some trails, and getting muddy! There are some very steep areas and a few parts that could become slippery after rain. Grace was so kind and greeted us and showed us the area. We had a blast and can't wait to return! Thank you!!

The few farm animals behind a fence provided an excellent training opportunity for my reactive pup. Super welcoming and friendly place. We'll be back soon.

55This is truly one of my favorite spots. It's like a little fairytale forest just an hour from Seattle. It feels SAFE which is very important to me after experiencing several dog attacks on hiking trails, Double Bluff, and at dog parks. I have two athletic dogs who need a lot of exercise plus brain enrichment. This spot is perfect! It's fully fenced, incredibly peaceful for me, and a lot of smells and obstacles for my pups. Also, Grace is an amazing host! One word of caution...on the way to the sniffspot entrance, you have to walk by a fenced pasture with goats and a horse - the goats are super friendly while the horse mostly ignores us. However, if your dog is reactive to farm animals, it's best to keep them leashed until you get over the hill and away from sight and smells of the pasture buddies.

55Lovely spot! We stopped by the goats on the way in and the pugs were facinated, the goats seemed to be as well 😂. We hiked all around in the wooks and had a picnic by the creek, while out pups played in the water. Loved the welcome and the treats for our hungry boys. Above and beyond location and attention to detail from the host.

55Wonderful spot that totally tired even the most energetic dog out. Grace was kind and I loved all her personal touches (the welcome sign and post hike treats). We even saw a deer on the trail! Quiet, tranquil, and perfect.

55Super easy to find, clearly marked parking spot and entry into area. Grace is delightful and spoils her guests with balls to throw for the doggies and access to her cute goats for a visit. No need to bring water for doggies, there is a beautiful stream running thru. The gorgeous woodland is an amusement park for dogs and very special spot for nature lovers. It is nicely secluded and private with many different areas to explore, an absolute treasure! We’ll be back with a picnic and more time to spend VERY soon!

FAQ about our Port Ludlow dog hiking trails

Are dog hiking trails safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, inattentive owners, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks are much safer than a city or county park. With a Sniffspot off-leash area all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 93% of reviews on Sniffspot visits are 5 stars. Our hiking trails tend to be outside the city, which lends to more privacy, but it is also important to follow typical hiking safety precautions, such as potentially having trail maps.
How can I find dog hiking trails in Port Ludlow?
There are 16 dog hiking trails in the Port Ludlow area. The most popular dog hiking trail is Pacific Forest Lands Forest Walk. You can browse all of our dog hiking trails here.
How do I know if a dog hiking trail works for my dog?
Sniffspot provides the tools to find the ideal spot. Start by applying basic filters, such as fencing 6 feet tall and distractions, to find a dog park with trails that works for your dog. You can also filter by size if you are looking for a certain acre park, an expansive off-leash dog park. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our fully fenced dog hiking trails. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our dog hiking trails where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. Since you are looking for trails, make sure to check photos to see if it the spot has flat trails or gnarly trails. You can also browse by specific amenities, if you are looking for a view or a beach, for instance, or other activities or fun features. You can check whether the spot has off or on street parking, the regular park hours, whether it has paved trails or a modern restroom.
What are the requirements to bring my dog to a Sniffspot dog hiking trail?
In order to hike the trails, we require that all dogs have basic vaccinations or equivalent titers. We do not permit dogs with a bite history. We require that guests sign our waiver and agree to follow our safety rules.
Will there be other dogs at the Sniffspot hiking trail at the same time as me?
Sniffspot only allows one booking at a time and any host dogs are required to be kept away from the spot during visits. We also enforce 30 min time buffers between bookings.
