55Twin Oaks is a great space for my dog to run and play. Marvin is a gracious host and provided fresh water and toys. Beautiful views in every direction.
55It is supposed to get into the low nineties today so we went at 8:00 am. The sun was low enough that the trees on the perimeter provided some shade. A sprinkler on a stand was turned on and my dogs enjoyed using it to get a drink and cool off. The water pooled a little and my dogs enjoyed splooting in it. ❤️🐶❤️ Not sure if there is always water available so I’d recommend taking water just in case. The pasture was mostly mowed. There were some foxtails, but really not bad considering their prevalence in the Ashland area. I think the Marvin is doing a decent job trying to keep the foxtails at bay.
45We booked this spot and Marvin was very responsive. We got there and it looked nice. We decided not to let our dogs out of the car because there were some foxtails and our dogs have hairy paws. I would return when foxtails are not dry and a danger to our pups in the fall.
55Another great visit! Brought the little one this time and much fun was had, lots of romping.
55We had a great time. Fenced in and private.
55Beautiful
55Great new spot in Ashland! Enough space for my sighthound mix to get up some speed. Bring water, the space is partially fenced, mowed and lovely. Marvin is friendly and open to suggestions. We'll be back!
55Our first visit this PM to a new—and the only!—Sniffspot in Ashland. The owner, Marvin, mowed his pasture yesterday and met us at the gate. It’s a good-sized spot—flat and perfect for chasing balls. There’s a shady, flowing irrigation ditch where Annie & Cisco cooled off. Marvin plans to provide more shade & dog toys and to regularly mow the pasture to keep the grasses controlled. A & C were all smiles ; loved having the big pasture to run & play.

Dogs on the property. They're inside/penned in when you arrive. Unless requested otherwise. There's a German shepherd, Zuko, who is dominant and what looks like aggressive. He's always with me and inside when you arrive. Well trained and listens to recall. A guard dog. A shepherd. Queen, the New foundland. She's very, very sweet and happy. She likes to jump in the pond and sticks to herself. King, the mutt. He's a very, very friendly dog. A little too friendly. King will play and annoy your dog until they tell him no.

Since we're on a farm, we can't be without chickens. There's a flock on the other side of the property in their coop. Goats, those goats. They might appear out of nowhere. Naughty animals that get out. I've fenced them in many times and I've got to the point where I think they're pretty penned in. Zuko helps me get them back in their pasture. If you'd like to do some border collie or dog training with the animals on the farm, it's possible.

Updated 1/2024 HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope you find whatever you are seeking for your new year's goals. I want to thank you all for visiting and often returning! And for your patience as I have cleaned up the property, tried to make it usable and comfortable for your visits. I am welcome to ideas, suggestions, requests. As we go in to the colder, wetter months, the seasonal creek will be flowing soon. I will add more towels in the closet, feel free to use them! The elk have made several appearances which made for an exciting visit for some guests! I have rotated the horses through as the grass has been coming up and will continue to do so as needed. ** Remember, if the calendar is closed, you are welcome to send me a message. I may only need to quickly move the horses back for your visit ** Some plans I have in the works for this coming year is a few more trees to put in the pastures, I will add another bench for an option in the front field directly behind the barn. I am trying to figure out how to fence and secure the far back pasture that goes down into the ravine, although so far it has not posed any issues that I am aware of. We are continuing to add gravel and cleaning up around the barn, including fencing around the backyard area that sits in front of the barn. Feel free to use the tables, the swing, whatever is out there. I have a few yard games (corn hole, croquette etc) I am happy to put out. My bigger projects are finishing my “little library” cabinet, and I am hoping by the end of Summer to have a SELF SERVE DOG WASH WITH A BLOW DRYER! I am always open to suggestions, ideas and whatever else. I appreciate all that have visited and look forward to making new friends in this coming year. More gravel will be added as we dry out to make parking a little easier. Kerri and all my farm family! * Just a reminder that it is always flea and tick season. We do not treat the pastures with any spray so be mindful about using whatever treatment your vet recommends. * This is first and foremost my horses supplemental feed supply now that the grass is coming on. That means the horses will be over there more often. And that means extra "sensory obstacles" aka piles of horse poo .. I do drag my fields as time allows. But that is in short supply these days and usually doesn't happen until closer to the fall.
