55The space was awesome, the goats were cute, Nicky messaged me to welcome us, she set out fresh water and my dogs had a blast. Fun experience in the city!
55My dogs loved this place, campers were there and super friendly. My girls are 1.5 years and sometimes need reminders of their manners and practice with off leash recall. This was the perfect place to test practice our training skills. Lots of nooks they could get into stuff so I kept an eye on them, and I wasn’t sure how they would react to the chickens and goats. They loved them but could easily be distracted away! They really loved having a large space to run and chase each other. It was hot today and Nikki had a water bowl and set up a sprinkler, treats and toys too, we had a great time!
35Nicky is a super friendly and communicative host. Our pup enjoyed looking at the animals, but based on other reviews, I think we had an outlier experience. There were loose screws on the grass and a half-eaten watermelon sitting out in the back and we didn't feel comfortable letting our dog explore without being right next to her. A nearby neighbor was using what sounded like a saw or power tool for most of our visit and our pup was somewhat afraid (also not a good location if your dog is scared of trains), and someone came over and took the hose for the sprinkler/water away during our visit.
55Jasper and I had a wonderful time at the farm! Such a cool place to find in the city, very spacious and full of fun things/other animals. A little escape in the middle of the city, highly recommend! We will be visiting again :) Thank you so much!
55Cool spot that really felt like a mini farm / country oasis right in the city. There was parking right infront of the farm entrance (convenient) and a few different seating areas for humans including a fire pit. The yard is well maintained, fenced in with plenty of area for the pups to run. The owners provided treats, poop bags, water bowls & had a sprinkler fixture set up for the pups to cool down / play with. The animals are very polite and friendly - one goat even booped noses with my pup! I think it’s a great that we have a new SniffSpot site added to downtown Chicago!! There was some farm gear around the patio and at the back of the property, but it didn’t interfere at all with my experience and is to be expected at a farm ☺️
55I love that there’s shady areas, there’s a place for humans to sit and relax while the dogs play. Easy to get into and plenty of space for dogs to run. The sprinklers were great to cool off and not just for the dogs. 😅 very unique space and fun to see our dogs be curious with the other animals
55Such a wonderful little urban escape! Our dogs got tons of stimulation and enrichment!
55Very sweet and accommodating! Moose had a blast!

Notice: We are closing the spot on May 23rd for maintenance. Sorry for the inconvenience. Grass and rain: Please keep in mind that during moderate to heavy rains the area without mulch can get muddy. Beginning May of 2024, we will post pictures daily to our Instagram account showing the condition of the spot. As you can imagine, due to the wear and tear the spot gets, it’s difficult to keep the grass alive. However, we do our best to reseed during the spring. BarkPark sits right across the street from The Salvation Army Freedom Center. This spot is fully fenced (chain link and wood) with the side facing the sidewalk being 5ft and the rest of the fence being 6ft. There is a dual-gate entrance to the spot for a safe entry and exit. Street parking is available. There is plenty of seating at this spot with shade throughout the day. There's a rain barrel filled with water for dogs to hydrate and cool down. We have water bowls available. GIANT sandbox that's great for digging and playing; no digging elsewhere please. On hot days, we do our best to keep the sand wet. Trash can onsite. We have poop bags available in two different areas for easy access. Half of this spot is covered with grass and the other half with playground mulch. This spot is big enough to get a good fetch session in or to just let the zoomies out. We also recently added agility equipment. We hope you and your four-legged friend/s have an exceptional time during your visit and choose to come back. Lost toys and items: Due to the amount of visits we get we aren’t able to track which items belong to which guest. If you’ve lost a dog toy or other item, please reach out and we’ll do our best to retrieve it and hold it for you. If you don’t reach out, we’ll hold onto it for a week and then add it to the Lost and Found Toy Box. Water: The dog drinking water gets changed 1-2 times per week, depending on the temperature/usage. During the winter months we empty the water barrel. If your dog/s require water during the winter months, we ask that you please bring your own. Food: You’re welcomed to bring food but we ask that you please clean up as a courtesy to other guests. Future additions: We hope to add more amenities over time. Our plans are to add more sand to the sandbox in late April or early May of 2024. We’re also hoping to have on-site parking around mid summer of 2024. If you have any suggestions for amenities, we’d love to hear your feedback.

Sniffspot just informed hosts that they will be discontinuing the ability to sign up for spot specific NEW memberships in the next two weeks. They will continue to honor existing Memberships. So we just wanted to give any Non Members a heads up in case anyone is on the fence about joining. As hosts we prefer the trust & sense of community that comes with memberships because it allows us to leave our spot open more hours for people who are familiar with our space. We are not sharing our yard for high volume, because it’s our personal yard also. We appreciate being able to have our weekends reserved predominantly for our familiar Members so we can stay open while we ourselves are out & about enjoying our weekend time! Just wanted to share this info. **We have added OPEN reservations on weekdays for people that would like to visit the yard prior to deciding if they would like to become full access Members. Peak weekend hours are only available to our Spot Specific Members.** We LOVE sharing our space with multiple dogs from the community however, it is hard on the grass. For this reason, we have limited our evening and weekend availability to Members Only to decrease the wear and tear on the yard. With the fluctuation in weather please be aware: If outdoor parks are wet and muddy ~ areas of our yard will be also. We cannot control the effects of rain. Please always use the provided carabiner to lock the gate as pictured after you and your dog(s) enter. We have installed multiple methods of LIGHTING for evening reservations. Easy instructions for use will be sent when you make the reservation. We do have a SHADE/RAIN SHELTER! :) WATER: We provide fresh water every 24hrs located in watering cans on the bench. PARKING: One FREE private parking space located at the entrance from the alley at the back of the lot. Since some guests were having a tough time with the parking space, so we did WIDEN the entrance. We park 2 Honda CRV's back there daily without issue. Fully fenced 6 foot secure and private green space. Large open lot with seating and plenty of room to play fetch or just relax off leash. Easy street parking, no permit required. Any Extras will be located in the storage bin on the east wall of the lot. We have evening hours 6:30p to 9:30p for Members Only, 7 days per week.
