Description

We have a little under an acre of land for your pup(s) to roam. Lots of space to toss a ball, play, run, and sniff. We have multiple gardens, several trees, a playhouse, playground with slide, firepit, stacked wood, a compost pile, a greenhouse & shed, a sandbox (please don’t allow dog to pee or poop here) and a little dome made out of sticks. We have a covered back porch with chairs and also chairs by the firepit. We have a small patch of open dirt that pups can dig in. There is a hose with a filter if pup needs water. We can provide a poop bag if you need one, but would prefer you bring your own. We can provide hand sanitizer for guests. Have fun!

HOST NOTE

At times we might have random gardening or light construction material in the backyard. We keep it as picked up as we can; we want things to be safe for our own dog, so it wouldn’t be any more unsafe for yours than it would be our own. Possible things: random gardening tools, pvc pipe, toys being left out, toys in sand box, playground equipment, branches/limbs (although I’d argue this is a dog’s dream, I’ll still list it here just in case), trampoline, firepit made of bricks. We don’t feel there is anything dangerous, but want to post any potential in case anyone feels it might be for their dog. :)

**Spring Update: Cellophane Bees: we have discovered a little colony of Cellophane bees in our agility field. These are NOT aggressive, not like yellowjackets and do not swarm. They are hugely beneficial native pollinators and we have decided to leave them be (har har). They are marked off with a fence, although my dogs had run right through them multiple times with no issues and i discovered them while standing on top of the area. They are very docile and only sting when grabbed. They will be here until about mid/late April** Enjoy a fully fenced spot (4 foot wire mesh livestock style fencing), run through mowed grass, tall natural meadow (we are “rewilding” a portion of our yard to native plants), two short wooded trails and access to a large pond with dock. Dogs are welcome to swim—bring towels and be prepared for some mud if it’s been raining or you have a pond monster doggy. Woods have wonderful smells, my dogs sometimes find delightful things to roll in. A hose is available for use on warm days. We do have chickens on site and ask you not allow your dog to harass them as you enter and leave (chickens are in a separate fenced area and in a coop/run). My dogs will be in the house—some barking may happen on your arrival but they will not be loose. Wildlife may be encountered (deer, squirrels, crawfish, muskrats, many birds and snapping turtles). **Note: I didn’t want to claim the site as accessible as it is grass and some uneven ground, but feel free to reach out if you need an accommodation to access the spot and we can discuss what is possible** We welcome all.
