55Perfect place for our dogs to run around. Better than a traditional field, was a lot for them to explore.
55Nice spot! The gate has gaps so I kept my 15lb dog on a long line and it was an open enough area that it worked out great.
55Wish I had gotten pictures but it was drizzling on and off. Our dogs had a blast exploring and running around. My dog enjoyed the doggy pool that was made available to us as well. I loved all the little natural "obstacles" made from cut trees and other things. It is wooded so mosquitoes are a thing. They weren't bad at all but will probably bring some OFF spray next time.
55Tons of room to run around. Spot was easy to access and clean.
55Great sniffspot! This was our first time using Sniffspot and we were very happy! Our dogs were in heaven running around this property. We did a same day visit (scheduled less than 2 hours out) and had no issues. There wasn’t any water readily available for the dogs but I texted Tim who promptly replied and was happy to share how to turn on the hose (they were not home so completely understandable!). Only advice would be if going late in the evening to bring bug spray! Typical Florida! Will return again! LOVED IT!
55A lot to explore!
55I am giving this five stars because I think the Sniffspot was well described and our dogs had the time of their lives, but I am not sure it was the best place for us. My perspective is an owner with two dogs - a hound (read: stubborn with a nose that’ll get him in trouble) and a terrier/shepherd (read: high prey drive and curious). I hope this review contains information that will be helpful in deciding if this Sniffspot is the best for you and your dog(s). Pros: - communication. Tim gave us all the information we needed days in advance. He answered our questions in a timely manner, which we greatly appreciated. - location. Conveniently located, but also tucked away. We thought it was a good compromise. We heard cars, but no other animals or people. - space. We loved the amount of space our dogs had to run, sniff, and play. - accessories. Our dog loved the pool, which also doubled as our other dog’s water bowl. lol. There were other toys to play with, but we didn’t use them this time. - shade. There were so many places to stand to enjoy the shade. It was a refreshing break from the Florida heat. Things to Consider: - security. When you pull into the place, you’ll turn left. Your best bet is to keep behind the house because the fencing is more secure. However, there’s not a barrier to physically keep your dog behind the house. They have to have good recall. Even with our dog, who has decent recall, the mailman was too exciting for him and he slipped through the fence. The issue is really that my dog’s recall isn’t perfect, but something to consider when you decide to book. We also scanned the perimeter and found some of the fencing to be less secure than other parts. Some of the fencing was leaning, some of it was lower (like 3 feet) and I think there was even a small gap in the back. Given the dogs we have, I was nervous the entire time and had to follow them around. I also think dogs can get under the house. I’m not sure if they can go underneath it all the way, but when our hound gets hot, he looks for shade and we caught him trying to go under the house. - hard to follow our dogs. We loved the wooded aspect, but for some reason I thought the main path extended farther than it did. You could walk it for a minute, and then you had to choose which way into the woodsy part you wanted to go. Our dogs love going into the ferns, palms, and as deep into the woods as they could. However, it was hard for me to follow them into the woods, so I spent lots of time listening for movement and hoping they didn’t move from where I thought they would be. - bugs. You’ll definitely need bug spray. We only walked through a couple spider webs, but the mosquitoes loved us. I think that’s the feedback we have. This place is wonderful and peaceful, and great for so many dogs! It was just difficult for me to enjoy the space with our dogs needs, so I hope this review helps others make an informed decision.
55Great area for off leash fun! The owner is very responsive and accommodating.
55Great space for dogs to run like crazy! Brought my pup and his best friend and they were exhausted after only 30 mins. Also this was the perfect spot to work on my dog’s recall (he needs some work lol).
55Kiro had such a great time running around and splashing in the pool! He found a lot of interesting spots to sniff. He will be sleeping very good tonight :)

Location

Mount Dora, Florida

Description

We have 5 acres of land that is fully enclosed with a fence. Roughly 1.5 acres - 2 acres is cleared land, perfect for running and activity. The remainder is forested. We reside next to a nature preserve, so wild animal encounters can occur. We have seen bears, coyotes, and snakes. Most of these occur in the morning time. The fence up front has some larger holes that a small dog could get through, but this is far away from the primary area located in the back. There are plants toxic to dogs around the house, so it is probably best to remain in the open areas.

Cleanliness

99% of guests said this spot was as clean as expected during their visit.

Hazards

We live near a nature preserve and wild animals are present occasionally. We have seen bears and coyotes in the early morning hours. Toxic plants are around the home.

If you want to enjoy the dog days of summer swimming in a beautiful, clean, refreshing saltwater swimming pool with your dogs, Pepper's Backyard and Pool is the spot for you! Make your reservation now! Fully fenced in large backyard for your dog(s) to run around and play in. This spot is perfect for any dog, but especially for reactive dogs that aren't able to run free or be around other dogs or people. When my dog Pepper was alive, I couldn't take him to public parks without him having to be muzzled and tethered to a very short leash. Pepper was a mix of Chow, Siberian Husky, German Shepherd, and Wolf. Unfortunately, he was not able to be socialized. But he enjoyed his backyard, and now I'm offering Pepper's Backyard to other dogs like Pepper and for every dog to run free, play, and be happy off leash. For an additional fee of $10 per dog per visit, your dog(s) can cool off in Pepper's saltwater pool. **Please sign up for the pool under "Extras" *** Dog(s) must be accompanied by a human while they are in the pool and use a water vest or floatie if needed (not provided by Host) and Dog(s) and Human(s) must be able to swim in up to 6 feet of water. You are visiting our home where my family and I live. Please be respectful of our home and clean up any mess before you exit our property. There is a broom on the patio you can use. No drugs or alcohol is to be brought to or consumed at Pepper's Backyard per Sniffspot's Guest rules. Please pick up your dog(s) poop. If you don't have dog poop bags, there will be some provided for you on the patio table. Please place used soiled dog toys and towels in the laundry basket located on the patio so they can be cleaned and sanitized for the next guest. You are required to use caution and care when swimming. There is to be no diving into the pool. There are no lifeguards on duty. You, your dog(s), and any guest you bring agree that you are swimming at your own risk and assume all liability for yourself, your dog(s), and anyone you bring with you. Prior to your visit, you are required to inform Host thru the Sniffspot app of all humans and dogs you are bringing to PEPPER'S BACKYARD. Please be careful not to throw balls or frisbees over the fence and do not take any toys home with you. They are the property of Pepper's Backyard. An inventory of all toys is taken before and after each Guest visit. Missing, damaged or lost toys will be charged to you at $10 per item, and you will be expected to pay for it before the end of your visit either by Cash, CashApp, or Zelle. Please supervise your dog(s) and do not allow them to dig holes in our yard. There is a kiddie pool filled with sand in the far right corner of the yard, and that is the only place your dog(s) are allowed to dig. Any holes dug or any damage done to our yard, pool, patio, or yard furniture will immediately be reported to Sniffspot, and you will be banned from returning to this spot. Do not urinate in the pool or in the yard. A guest bathroom is located inside our home that you are welcome to use. Please know that there are 5 working and monitored surveillance cameras that take video clips of everything you, your dog(s) and any guest you may bring with you are doing while you are on our property and by booking at Pepper's Backyard you all acknowledge and agree to being video recorded.
