Description

We are a licensed dog boarding and daycare kennel established out of our walk out basement in a nature setting in mid-Missouri. We have a 2,800 sqft fenced yard equipped with agility equipment and puppy playgrounds. The fence has a dog park double gate entrance. There is an acre of yard and woods with a small trail winding through. If it's raining, the dry creek fills up with water. Inside we have an indoor tire obstacle course, slatmill, elevated beds, toys, a TV, and more. Entrance indoors would depend if your dog is friendly towards other dogs and if you can provide current proof of vaccinations.

HOST NOTE

Although we are on an acre with woods, we are right off a hwy. It's best if your dog has good recall or you have a leash. We have a wooded area and trail with trees that have exposed roots creating tripping hazards. If it's raining or snowing, the mud can get slick. There are other dogs on our property because we are an active and busy dog boarding and daycare.

Dog grooming on premises by ABC certified groomer. Hours, prices, and availability vary. Breed cuts, bathing, toenail trims, and more.

Slatmill Exercise$15

In undesirable weather or for a quick exercise, try out the slatmill. If your dog isn't a natural, it may not be comfortable as a first timer. A slatmill is a non motorized dog treadmill where a dog is hooked up to a harness and bracket where it can run in one place at its own desire. When the dog starts, the belt starts. When the dog stops, the belt stops.

Additional rules

We are a state licensed kennel. In order to come indoors, you must show proof of rabies, bordetella, and distemper/parvo and your dog must be flea and tick free. You may access the outdoor premises without proof of vaccines but you may not access indoor or fenced in area without proof of vaccines. Dogs must be dog friendly in order to play indoors or with other dogs.

Entrance is right of the garage, as shown in pictures. Kong ball is hanging from the fence next to the gate so you know you're in the right place! Feel free to use fold out chairs or fire pit or grill, but please make sure any fires are out before you leave. There is a hose against the house in the garden. Please turn all the way off after use, especially in winter months to prevent freezing. You may park on the street or on the left side of the driveway. Enjoy!

You'll find an old-fashioned hand-pump well on site with fresh water—just bring a little elbow grease! A water bowl or bucket will be available nearby, and I’ll do my best to have it filled before you arrive. There's also a fire pit if you'd like to enjoy a cozy moment—just bring your own firewood and let me know if you plan to use it. The terrain is natural and a bit uneven in places, but we keep it mowed. Please be mindful of nature’s visitors—occasional bees or even a curious snake may pass through. Plenty of sticks are scattered around for chewing fun, and the mature trees provide lots of shade for hot days. Malta Bend is a quiet little farming town, perfect for a peaceful getaway from the city. You'll find a trash can and shovel on site for poop pickup—we appreciate your help in keeping the grove clean for all visitors.
