Space includes a small wooded area within the fenced area. Bathroom available on site in the smaller barn. SMOKE FREE ZONE. Pick up after dogs, garbage bin provided. There are a few seniors visiting with mobility issues which is taken into consideration when there is poop left behind. You can always message me and let me know a general area and I can try to run out and pick it up between the next visit. There are some small gaps in the fence, so this is a great spot for large and medium sized dogs. Not a spot recommended for small dogs or severely reactive. Please keep dogs leashed until it is your time slot and are in the designated area and keep in mind you may pass another dog owner with their dog on a leash leaving or entering the spot. IF YOU CAN NOT CONTROL YOUR DOG ON A LEASH WHEN PASSING ANOTHER DOG PLEASE DO NOT BOOK THIS SPOT. Lots of seniors visit this spot and they may need some extra time to walk to their cars. For the most part spacing between guests has been good. Please read the essential rules the website has suggested in order to keep this a fun and safe place for dogs. We’d love to hear feedback about the meadow and anything we can do to make it a great experience for your pup and you. GETTING HERE 9420 West Saanich Rd - This is the first driveway north of Ardmore golf course on the west side of West Saanich. - Drive up the long driveway, take the sudden left turn at the farmhouse, and straight ahead another 3 metres is the SniffSpot meadow -Park there (you'll see a chalkboard sign) - The meadow is on your left THE MEADOW - this is a fully-fenced 1/2 acre with 5ft tall fences resting a few inches off the ground. It is secure for small dogs. - it is a shady spot with dappled sunlight, full of deciduous ornamental trees, wild mint, and grasses - there is a flock of chickens next to the dog meadow, visible but protected by fencing AMENITIES - water and a dog bowl are at the front of the gate. Use the spigot and hose to fill the bowl as needed - an electric outlet is here as well for charging devices - garbage is in the “pan-insula” bin clearly marked at the entrance to the meadow. Put dog waste in the garbage bin, not the compost bin.

WEATHER ALERT: If you are checking the weather online check the Ferndale (98248) weather. The Bellingham weather stops at the Smith Road. My prevailing wind is from the South BUT I do get the cold NE wind from Canada. NOTE: This is an acreage area which formerly held dog events; barn hunt, earth dog, carting, rally, obedience, tracking and nose work. The off leash area was set up for the dogs to have a place to run and play safely away from the other dogs when not working. This is all sandy loam so no standing water even when it rains. There is a water faucet down by the smaller barn (west side). You are welcome to fill your dog's bowls. Just be sure you turn the water off after. I have put some folding chairs just inside the big door of the barn. You are welcome to use them. I have also put a shovel out there so you can fill in any holes your dog digs. It is important you put balls back in the crate, they do not do well under the mower (the mower doesn't like it either. Please fill in any large holes your dog digs, so my mower doesn't bog down in one. if you want a bit more room to run your dogs, you may close the 2 big gates and let your dog run in the "parking area". It is all fully fenced. Be aware, the big gate into the back pasture does have a gap under it. THE BACK PASTURE IS OFF LIMITS THERE IS LIVESTOCK BACK THERE! PLEASE PICK UP AFTER YOUR DOG EVEN IN THE BIG AREA. THANK YOU!!!
