Welcome to Fun in Freeville: Trail Edition! A short trail for your dog that likes to explore the woods. We currently have one open trail that runs the length of our 5.5 acre property and back, and we hope to add more this spring. Our favorite times to walk this trail are in the fall and winter. It can get pretty wet during certain times of the year. I would definitely wear tall waterproof footwear in the spring and summer and use bug spray. There's a large fire pit with benches and a picnic table that you're welcome to use. We are doing our best to maintain and further develop the trail but please be aware that there is uneven ground throughout and watch your step. As you walk through, you will encounter different types of forest and trees. It's always fun to bring binoculars if you're into birding. You might get lucky and see our resident barred owls! Come take your dog for a hike or play on private land! There is a creek, trails, open fields, digging areas, tall and short grass, near the house while you are here there is a swings and a fire pit! Come enjoy some time with your doggo!

Welcome to Fun in Freeville: Fenced Yard Edition! Our property includes a 2,500 sq. ft. fully fenced-in yard, a larger open field, and a 5-acre trail. The yard includes deck access and seating. There is a large umbrella for shade and rain in the summer. The ground in the yard is pretty flat and mostly grass. The open space in the back is also grass with some trees and bushes. It can get a little muddy during very wet times of the year but there is a hose and towels available. There is a kiddy pool in the yard for your pup to cool down in the summer. We have a small fire pit in the yard if you want to start a fire in cooler weather. There's also a large fire pit on the trail with bench seating and a picnic table. Bring your binoculars if you enjoy birding. We have lots of hummingbirds in the summer and have seen barred owls on the trail. Quiet street in Lansing, NY. Four foot high, private, fully fenced yard. Lights for night time play! 3/4 of the yard is lit up for night time use. Plenty of space for fetch, zoomies, quiet walk, sniffing, digging or anything your dog desires! Kiddie pool, 3 hanging bungee toys, a small dig area, 2 seating areas, one shaded and one full sun, table with 4 chairs, hammock, dogs toys and fresh water provided.

Trails and a pond for people and dogs to play, run and swim. Beautiful vistas and sunset views. There are picnic tables and fire rings. We have wood bundles available if you want to stay for a campfire.

Farm with animals. Tons of fields, woods and ponds to explore. Walk up the drive with a leash and then explore around. Make my property smell like dog again and get rid of the predators!

Come enjoy the quintessential backyard paradise for your furbaby in an almost 1-acre fenced sniffspot! There is comfortable seating for you while your dog explores, sniffs, and zooms around the yard. Plenty of room to play fetch/frisbee for any rambunctious pups! For our water-loving pups there is a kiddy pool for them to play and cool off in (warm months only). Bowl with fresh water and complimentary treats available on the back patio. Fenced in dog yard, plenty of room for ball and frisbee throwing. Please ensure dogs don't jump in or dig in garden beds. If pool is empty, turn on/off well next to front steps to deck and use hose (to fill or spray your dog). Dig spot is behind the little barn (ok to uncover space from landscape fabric). If there are ripe tomatoes, feel free to pick a couple as a snack.

NOTE: ON HOLD UNTIL DEC 9 ( DUE TO HUNTING SEASON) Greetings! Our land is a mix of flat grass (think lawn), some long/short pasture, and the majority being heavy wooded forest area. You will enjoy some rustic logging trails up there (but please don’t expect a perfect state park-type path). The terrain can be steep to climb to the top depending on your skill level. Once you are at the “top” of the hill, there is “flat” land that you can hike (I’ve even jogged up there - slowly!). For those of you that like a challenge, besides our two pathways up the hill, we offer a very steep side of the hill to climb. One of the photos shows water – that is the case if there is a heavy rain (likely September/October) but please know we don’t always have a running stream. We do offer a hose and bucket to rinse your dog’s feet at the end of the stay. The photos with the leaves are from last year – this is what the property looks like in autumn. November starts getting cold. December will bring snow with some plowed areas. For winter, you and your dog can frolic in the snow and we can provide you with towels, wipes, whatever you may need to "clean off" before getting back in the car. With advance notice, we can provide coffee, tea, or cocoa. For accessibility: if you use a wheelchair, you can drive your car onto the land and use the flat part of the land if you can access grassy lawn. If there is interest, I can take your friendly dog up the hill to run around for a nominal fee. We are new to this so please ask questions. Consider this spot “forever wild” woods. It is incredibly calm and peaceful up on the hill. You can quietly listen to the woods or bring a radio and sing to your dog loudly. If you are not a climber, even playing fetch behind the barn is nice. Note: inside the barn is off limits. This is a working property and there are tools, tractors, and such that are not good for any animals. Please Remember: there are no fences and we have a state highway in front of our property. All the area that you would use would be set back an appropriate distance, but I want to be clear for everyone sake that there are no fences. If your dog does not come back when called, perhaps this spot isn’t the best for any off-leash activity. Wild Animals: There are deer in the woods (and some dogs love to chase deer!) so please keep that in mind as well. We have also seen rabbits and an occasional skunk, raccoon, fox, groundhogs, and even a porcupine once. We hear coyote sometimes but I have not seen any on our land. Central New York has been known to house bobcats, mountain lions, and bears among others, but I have yet to see them on our land as well. We do see bald eagles on occasion. Lastly, your reservation is for 90 minutes to allow for time to truly enjoy nature.
