Description

RIVER LOVERS’ SPOT IS CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE…. We are overrun with Canada Geese. The nesting pair were welcome but the number that have moved in since are overwhelming. Their waste has made the site unpleasant. There are 50-80 in residence currently. The adolescents are 75%. Attempts to thwart them have not been as successful as summers past. I will change the calendar (and pics) as the move on. Summer is short!! UPDATE: We are awaiting approval by Dept. Environmental Conservation for ground changes. I’M ANXIOUS AND WILL POST WORD SOON…please be patient 🙁. Follow up 8/10/2022 With summer slipping away and things not changing on our waterfront, I’ve decided to open the calendar and see what happens. Things don’t always go as planned. The water is low. The shore is rocky (but not far in). The natural shore is pretty mucky. And there’s an old dock that needs to be pulled. Mostly cosmetic and negotiable with the keepers of the wetlands. DOGS DON’T CARE. Take a peek and see if it would suit your pup. We’ll be here next year but once it freezes it’s a “no dog” zone. 🐾 Dogs, bring your people and swim, run, or just watch the ships on the St. Lawrence. No fence but there’s more riverfront than road front. Our spot is small, quiet and your only distractions will be shore birds, waterfowl and fish. The shore is low rocks so good footing preferred. The water is shallow. The vistas are perfect. All dogs should have a river spot to share.

Dogs and the St. Lawrence river are two of the things we love most. Visiting families often have trouble finding a spot for the dogs to enjoy the water or run, undistracted, off leash. We encourage that as our guests🐾.

Hey Dog Lovers! Please read!! We finally fenced half of our Yard and decided to share the fun with you! There is a fully fenced area for you and your dog to enjoy some off-leash time. You can also use the rest of our unfenced land (we have 1.4 acres all together) My dog will be inside all the time, but might bark at your arrival. My neighbors do not own dogs, so this is great for reactive dogs. Please pick up after your pet - i provide a pooper scooper. We will be adding more equipment to the Yard soon, for now there is a medium sized doggy pool, a dog bed and toys as well as a picnic table. I will provide water for your dog too. If you have any questions feel free to contact me!

Jen's 100 Acre Private Dog Park and 2.5 miles of trails In Bath, Ontario.

Partially Fenced
100 acres

Updated April 17 2025 Daily 7:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. we offer a partially fenced 100 acre property where your dogs can run free. We have 3 official trails currently, plus 2 groomed 1 acre field play areas. At this time there are also 2 large fields that have been planted with wheat and are perfect for walking and playing. We have chairs available in the first field for you to relax. We have a Chuckit available to throw balls for your dogs. Fresh well water in a bucket, for dogs, and bowls, are provided in the first field also. Spring is upon us and with it comes some water run off and mud so wear water proof footwear. There is a pond at the bottom of the first field to the right. In spring there are geese and ducks that nest there so be advised. Please keep your dogs from harassing the wildlife. I don't recommend the pond for swimming for humans at all and only for dogs in May, but dogs have been swimming in there all summer and fall and seem to be liking it fine. In winter, the pond poses a danger. Please don't allow people or dogs to go on to the ice. There will be a warning sign in winter. From there we have a mile long gravel walking trail along fields and forest. It's very straight, and if you stay on the trail, you can't get lost. It is very quiet and peaceful. You can often see deer, wild turkeys and lots of birds, sometimes bald eagles. A walk to the end and back is 2 miles and takes 40 minutes at a moderate pace. Part way back the main trail goes through a shallow marsh. In the spring the frogs singing is quite remarkable! Further along there is a small run-off creek and metal culvert that is suitable for dog swimming in the spring. This is marked with orange pylons so is avoidable if you put your dogs back on a lead as you pass. Just past the culvert, we offer a trail around 2 plowed wheat fields going East. It's along woods and takes about 15 minutes ending back on the main trail. Just past the entrance to the wheat fields on the main trail, we have several fields that have been harvested and are very flat. They have now been planted with winter wheat. You can go wherever you like on these fields! Just past these fields on the main trail, there is a deer tree stand on the West side. Currently we have a trail camera at the base of this stand so be advised. It faces along the tree line, going north so is easy to avoid. After this you will reach the base of the big hill along the main trail. Going East at the base of the hill is a nice short trail going through the cedars, The Shady Trail. The entrance is marked with orange tape. This trail ends at a small field with a deer stand in it. In and back would take about 10 minutes. The main trail ends at the top of the big hill. Please stay out of the woods spring through fall due to ticks. You can use the woods once we've got snow on the ground and you can find your way out. We do use the woods a lot, so there are trails but they aren't always obvious to others. We don't want folks getting lost! Be dressed for gravel on the trail, uneven footing on the wheat field and shady walk trails, and potential water and mud puddles on the property in wet seasons and after rain. ** The mains trail can be icy in spots in winter so wear appropriate boots. The main trail runs North/South so if you want a sunny walk, go at midday. A shaded walk, go after 3 p.m. We have a white garbage can for poop but please use biodegradable dog poop bags. Please remove your dogs' poop wherever they go! ***IMPORTANT: all prices listed are in USD, $11 per hour for the first dog, subsequent dogs are $5.50/hour. On your way home, stop at MacKinnon's brewery just down the road for food and drinks. They are dog and family friendly; an all around great place to visit!
