45Super fun!
55Space was very shaded, which was nice for the warm day! It was clean, well maintained and there was a waterbowl with a hose for the pups. Great parking and a wonderful location!
55Great play spot for throwing ball. Friendly host. We’ll be back!
55My puppy’s first sniff spot! We both had a blast :) The yard was large with lots of room to run. The fencing was really secure. A great space to play and train in. The host was super friendly as well. We were too busy playing for any pictures this time, but we will be back.
55Our pups had a lot of fun here! Glad this space is here for them to enjoy :)
45Large yard with room to run. Water bowl was provided and the yard was mostly shaded. The dogs can get onto and under the raised deck but we had no issues with this. The only negative was we had a neighbor complain to us about Sniffspot and to ask my dog to stop barking (it could see his dog through the fence). The host could probably block off the view through the fence to help with this.
25We left the place after 10 minutes. My biggest concern was there was poison ivy in several spots of the yard. I messaged the host about it privately in hopes of resolving my concerns and gave them a day and a half to respond but I did not hear back from them. Folx before didn't clean up after themselves there was a lot of dog poo around. It also smelled like pee (not their fault but it made for an uncomfortable environment). Under the porch is uncovered storage area and there's stuff for the doggo to get into if they are the curious type.
55First time trial off the leash for a dog that wants to run a lot. It was a good first time because of the excellent fencing. Very clean.
25Everybody has glitches...Could be a Top Spot with just a little effort! PROS: Great fencing, large yard; sun and shade; short grass; yard has flat side and steeper side (good to use up doggie energy playing fetch;-) owner was friendly. CONS: Gate wouldn't open as directed; 30 min trying to resolve eventually housemate let us in; lots of old poop in yard; standing, rusty water; access to unknown storage items under deck.
55great space for dogs to play

Description

PLEASE BE CAREFUL OF BEARS! I have had a bear in the back yard a few times recently. They jump fences! If you need a better idea of where it is, it's within walking distance of the East Asheville Farmer's Market, Library, Fire Department, and Wells Fargo. I'm also close to Bull Mountain Rd. A few Announcements: While I make every effort to ensure that my roommate and other guests have cleaned up after their dogs, I have occasionally been informed that they have not. So I must now update the description accordingly. I welcome you to partake of my beautiful backyard in a peaceful neighborhood- as long as you are aware it is possible there is occasional dog poo. Also be advised that if you are extremely sensitive to poison ivy, be aware there may be some in some parts of the yard. If your dog is a curious sort, be aware that there is some yard equipment being stored under the deck and this area is open and not blocked off. I cannot anticipate every guest's need, but I am happy to offer my yard for a small fee to those who understand what is being offered. Thank you! Also, if you should happen to encounter my neighbor in the back left of the yard, please be advised he is unfortunately a little senile and has been known to be a nuissance to several of his neighbors. I don't want to scare you off, as we love our yard and will continue using our yard in the ways we see fit. If his (small) dogs come out while you are there, please be careful with your dogs, and please take anything he says with a grain of salt-, he unfortunately sometimes behaves like your classic grumpy old man. We apologize in advance for anything he says and are working on a solution. It may take some time for that to be implemented. Recommendations: 1) Please clean up after your dog. 2) If you book an evening time, be prepared with a flashlight, or know when the sun sets. I have outside lights, but I can't guarantee they will always be on, and they don't illuminate the whole yard. The space: A wide open space with rolling hills for your dogs to play, while you enjoy the view. *The sprinkler is actually a garden hose that is a "soaker" hose. It sprays water out of it like a sprinkler. There are plenty of sticks you can throw for the dog to fetch. (The location is 5 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, 5 minutes to Downtown Asheville, and close to the Folk Art Center. The newly renovated Haw Creek library and playground, Creekside Tavern, and High Five Coffee are just down the street. You can also walk to the Haw Creek Farmer's Market from here on Fridays, 3-6 pm. You can walk straight from to the Mountain to Sea trail from here without having to drive, and hike to Lunchbox rock (seen in pictures here.) I included the porch pictures so you could see the sunset. :) ) There is hand sanitizer, sunblock and bug spray under the stairs, under the side of the bottom step that you are welcome to use.i

Hi, my name is Rachel, I recently moved here to Asheville from the Charlotte area. I feel lucky to have been able to find a home with a really big back yard, that made me think- "this place is just crying out for a dog." But thus far, I have been a cat person. I do like dogs, but I'm not sure I'm up for the challenge of having one yet. But in the meantime, I am happy to have found this way to welcome dogs to play in this back yard. Have fun!

11/13 the fencing has been repaired, the gazebo is back in place and my dogs have been out there visiting without issue. We will be cutting the trail to the beach in the next two weeks then we will be ready to open. 9/28- heavy damage due to flooding. Closed until I can rebuild. Sites 1, 2, and 4 are open for your pups and your continued patronage would be a great help to me and this site. Access is possible to those sites. Thank you for your understanding. Have you ever wanted to run your dog on three football sized flat fields? This is your chance. Located behind UPM Raflatac in the cane creek industrial park this huge spot is the third one we have built. It’s been designed for complete privacy for you and your pets. No drive by traffic no people walking by, just you and your kids on 4 flat acres. It’s perfect for all ages of dogs and their humans because of the terrain! If you are up for an adventure, we have cut in a small trail to access Cane Creek. It is part of the same property but is NOT fenced in any way. If your pup enjoy off or on leash hikes, then feel free. The trail is outside the fenceing look for the silver gate across from the Gazbo. It is an out and back path with two small hills about a 3-5min walk in the woods. This area is not fenced. A picnic table, gazebo with swing, hammock and umbrella, are located here for lots of seating and shelter. Some toys are provided and even a game of horse shoes for humans! I think a Remote Control car or a drone, a mountain bike might be really fun to bring or even a Remote Control plane. This spot is actually part of the old Fletcher airport. All I want in life is to help people to have balanced dogs in their lives! Enjoy!
