Sometimes
I have 4 dogs plus I babysit my sister’s dog often. 2 pugs, 1 small terrier mix, 1 black Labrador. My sister’s dog is a rough collie. They are all friendly but they do bark.
Our dogs have a secure area separate from the remainder of the yard. Their area is accessible to them and visible from the driveway. When you arrive and park they will bark but can’t get out of their area. We do our best to keep them inside while guests are here.
On one side our neighbour has 2 Labradors. They will bark and if your dog goes near the fence.
On another side our neighbour has 2 small-ish dogs who bark often. They love to come to the fence and bark at our dogs. Our dogs love to bark back. We have reinforced the fence in that spot to ensure there’s no physical interactions. This was purely a precautionary measure, not done because of any actual contact between our dogs and theirs.
Along our driveway the neighbour has a cattle dog. He’s not always in his yard but if he is, he’ll likely bark when you arrive.
