I am happy to offer my yard to guests and believe in the mission of SniffSpot to provide safe areas for dogs. I wish this service existed when I did not have a yard. I am a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA) and I have over 6 years experience working with dogs including reactive dogs and dogs that prefer space from other dogs and people. I ensure I will not interrupt your booking or trigger your dog with my presence. If your dog is highly sensitive to barking, our yard may not be the best fit for your dog. I run a small doggie daycare and boarding service out of my home and foster dogs (as well as own 3 rescue dogs of my own), however I require that my fosters/guests are vaccinated for Rabies/Distemper/Parvo (or equivalent titer) and clients sign an agreement that their dog has not been in contact with dogs they do not know (are vaccinated) 2 weeks prior to their stay (please also follow this guideline). We have not had any instance of illness since the adoption of these terms 8 months ago. Your dog(s) may hear barking from inside the house alike to how they may hear barking while walking down a residential street, but I provide much enrichment and barking is rare and settles quickly. I promise no dog in my care will come in contact with your dog. Should I have a guest arrive/depart, I will do everything I can to ensure the dog stays out of sight of your dog in the yard, but your dog may hear their arrival/departure. If you require as little street traffic/noise as possible, I will arrange for there to be no guest traffic during your booking or propose an alternate time. On the flip side of running dog care here, our yard always has a lot of smells for guest dogs to explore. The yard is cleared of feces multiple times every day. We have a smaller yard that has been thoroughly enjoyed by many happy guests and we use straw/hay/pine shavings to counter not having much grass left. We offer 4 agility jumps and 12 pole competition weaves. Guests are welcome to use the toys in the yard although they may be muddy (we understand toys may be destroyed at times, but please bring your own toys if your dog is a habitual toy destroyer). Hose water is available (bring bowls as one may not always be available). Baby pools are available (please only fill halfway and dump water/rinse pool prior to leaving). Trash receptacles provided for dog waste (bring poop bags). You are welcome to sit at our patio table. You will notice 6 foot poles installed around the outside of the fenced area - we are working on expanding our fenced area and hope to offer a larger area soon (as well as 6 foot fencing and grass)!
