Petals & Pastures is a 32 acre + adjacent 60 acres of working cattle and hay farm off Hwy. 268. We absolutely love all animals, especially dogs! Customers use the area for photo sessions and now we’re opening 15 acres for a dog park area! We’re located in the foothills of North Carolina in Elkin. Although, we are 11 miles away from Elkin, and are closer to Dobson by 5 miles, Fairview by 3 miles, Boonville by 6 miles. We’re 6 miles from the Dobson I-77 exit, 15 miles from Mt. Airy and 16 miles from Pilot Mountain. The dog area is fully fenced in w/ the exception of the upper side of the creek trails but that gets steep. The fenced areas are a combo of 4ft. high cattle mesh wire, barbed wire and electric fence (one strand) that can be turned off upon entry. •All dogs welcome, of any breed and size, so long as they’re well behaved, leashed upon entry and exit at the barn entry gate, take voice command. *Any bad dog or human behavior will not be tolerated* You will have privacy and no other dogs to worry about. We boast a dog library*, human library*, 100% artisan made organic dog treats for sale (health dept. inspected) by a local vendor, various dog and human amenities listed below. ***Dog Amenities*** •At the entry gate, a Dog library w/ toys, pooch towel, dog water bowl, dog brush, photo backdrop, private play *Please return items to their proper bins to be cleaned & sanitized. We use a gentle hypoallergenic product that’s safe. •Dog Waste Clean-up Station also at the entry gate •Small doggie (kiddie) pool •Water hose if needed by the pig pen •Small Sand Digging Box •Doggie First Aid Kit (in library) •15 acres of various areas for playing, running, exercise, relaxing; grass, meadow, pasture, creek area, trails, woods, shade ***Human Amenities*** •Also at the entry gate, a Human Library with a first aid kit, small towel, bug spray, sunscreen, hand sanitizer, dog waste bags, trash can, posted signs to help navigate, some areas are handicap accessible, Sniffpass (discounts), 2 chairs, privacy, creek area, trails. ***Future Amenities*** •Agility play area •Tube Course •Outhouse •Small Shelter w/ table for rain/shade •Snacks for Humans (drinks are for sale) ***This is a working farm; while we will do our utmost to give you space and privacy, we may need to enter certain areas for farm supplies, equipment, feeding etc. but will not remain. ***You may hear a variety of farm animals at times but none are harmful. We have them in their pens and fenced in areas. We have black angus and white faced cattle, 2 pot-belly pigs, Rhode Island Red hens and chicks, 5 Muscovy ducks that stay at the pond or the other side of the farm, our Chiweenie dog named Biscuit and the farm cat, KittyBoo. Both will remain inside upon your visit and cannot be seen or heard. ***Disclaimer—KittyBoo is a friendly outdoor farm cat but does his own thing. Slys Peace Trail

Located in the foothills, the Slys Peace trail was created for dog stimulation. The trail starts at the lower end of the pasture and follows the creek meandering through a rhododendron forest. Situated at the base of 100 acres of wooded ridge land, the hike offers a wilderness experience customized to your comfort zone. There are multiple trails to accommodate your level of exercise. The full experience will require crossing the creek multiple times and is recommended for those with hiking experience. Trails are easy to follow with multiple exits that lead out to the pasture. This is dog heaven. Let your dog be a dog. To locate the gate entrance watch for the Giant metal horse. His nose points the way. Follow the fenceline a few hundred feet where you will find the gate just before the power line easement. There is now a large Sniff Spot sign securely attached.

Captain's Retreat at Bear Creek located off Highway 64 in Mocksville! 4.5 acres of fully fenced (woven mesh wire and post/rail 5.5ft to 6ft high) with trails, woods, field, and plenty of room to run and explore! Open the front gate and drive into the secure parking area. ***CLOSE AND LATCH THE GATE BEHIND YOU BEFORE GETTING YOUR DOGS OUT OF THE CAR!*** Walk through gate into the space from the secure parking area. This area has wooded trails as well as cleared areas. Densely wooded areas and thickets all around. TICK PREVENTION IS A MUST! There are no pesticides or herbicides used here. Only natural horticulture vingear for spot weed control. This area is located beside Bear Creek and when the creek is high or after a good rain IT WILL BE MUDDY on the right side of the property! Dry creekbed located across the back of the property. **The Creek is NOT accessible from the fenced property** -Water hose on site for use. Dog shower/bath area to the right of the shed with dog wash hose attached, shampoo, and wash shammy. Or you may bring your own bath supplies! Feel free to give your dog a shower/bath! ***Just added dog pool*** For use at no extra charge! Fill up/use if you'd like! (It's been stored for the fall/winter...but if you would like to use it...please let me know at time of booking) -Dog water bowl, dog brush, toys, treats, human and dog tick spray provided. All located in large deck box inside the gate. -Bring doggy towels in case of mud or bathing! -Porch swing and seating areas with a shed deck, gas grill, picnic table and hammock at the top of the property. -Chair/table area at the bottom of rock trail. At the end of the cleared field is a 2 single seat swing set and hammocks by the bridge. **Stick Library** -**NEW** we have expanded the field area to fence in the hill!
