Fencing details: The yard is fully fenced, comprised of all our neighbors' fences. Chain link, privacy, raw iron, and barn wood + chicken wire (don’t worry, no gaps between the rows of wood…chicken wire “screens” it all in). It ranges from 4-6 feet.

Description

Fall/Winter update: the yard is DARK after 5pm. Hose is off for winterization, so please bring water. Our 1/2 acre fully fenced dog-friendly yard is here to host your special furry friends. We live a short, straight-shot drive from Chicago and are butt-up against the beautiful Salt Creek (and all the wild life that also calls the creek "home" - bunnies, squirrels, groundhogs, birds, garden snakes (harmless, but present in May), etc.). The head of Salt Creek Trail is located just a block away on Thomas Street, so feel free to explore the creek/trail after your yard time. It leads all the way to Villa Park, where you can catch the Prairie Path / Great Western Trail. You'll pass by MORE Brewing Company as well as outdoor bar and food trucks Fuel and Creme (ice cream). Make a day of it! Please note that even though the yard IS fully fenced, it is comprised of a variety of sizes shapes ranging from 6 feet privacy, raw iron, to 4 foot chain-link, barn wood with chicken wire between the wood gaps. You know your dog's "flight risk" better than anyone, so please make smart decisions when booking our yard. Dispose of poop bags in the BLUE TOP bin (green is recycle). Finally, note that we can only host 2 dogs at a time due to wear and tear on the yard. Have fun!

Hazards

Dogs with an impressive vertical leap are likely able to clear the back fence—see photo for reference. One foster dog we had was fixated on chasing a rabbit and barreled through the wire to get it. You know your dog's prey drive and jumping capabilities better than anyone. Choose our yard based on that. Finally, when it has rained, the yard closest to the creek will be soggy/muddy. All part of the fun! Suffice to say, most dogs just zoomie, romp, and have a BLAST!

Perfect spot for owners who already walk their companions on the path to stop and have some playtime or extra training time. Our favorite times of year to see our Newfie play outside are winter (he loves to catch snowballs, chase our kids and then lay in the cold snow)…and the summer when he lays in the cool grass and plops himself down in the kiddie pool. We hope your doggies will love to enjoy our yard just as much!
