55Super spot! Wild with lots of fun sniff action for pups. You can hear dogs off in the distance, but not close enough to bother super reactive pups. Only nice addition/ touch would be to add a bowl for the water provided. Tons of toys and even blankets.
55Very nice, thank you!!
55Great space!
55The spot was easy to find, and had plenty of room for my dogs to run around and lots to sniff. The fence was perfect, especially since I have smaller dogs.
55Very nice. Really appreciated the amenities
55Another fantastic visit to Stumptown! Our pups have started to recognize the end of the drive and are thrilled to stretch their legs and explore here! Can't wait to visit again 😁
55Such a great spot. We always love the small sitting area for breaks and to hide from the rain! Our pups had a blast
55Another perfect visit! We loved Stumptown so much Hermes had to bring his fur-cousin Majora over. She had a blast playing fetch and climbing all of the stumps, Hermes hunted down all of the good smells, and our toddler enjoyed the bubble gun! 😂
55Poe really enjoyed his time here. Nicole has a well stocked and secure yard. Plenty of water and clean towels, too which came in handy for my perimeter runner. Some animal noises can be heard from the surrounding area but nothing overly distracting, as indicated on the listing. The very clearly posted instructions prior to and upon entry were much appreciated as well. Overall we had a great time and we’re looking forward to our next visit!
55Lovely place, lovely owner! 😉

Description

Hello and welcome to Stump Town! This is our first time being a Sniffspot host and we hope you enjoy your time here. Things to note!!!! Hours will be adjusted with the seasons, we are not open after dark. Due to the spread of a canine respiratory disease in several states we will no longer have a communal water bowl. Water is provided but please bring your own bowl. All toys will now be rubber toys to make disinfecting them quick & easy. Please do NOT park in our driveway. Please park off the curb to the right of the driveway by the Sniffspot parking sign! - This used to be an old goat/chicken pen. The dirt is infused with the flavor of goat 💩! If you think your furry pet is a poop eater this may not be the best spot for you. While we have cleaned much of it it can still be tasty to some dogs! - The stall mats can get very hot. Have your dogs step onto the dirt or mulch when leashing up. - The terrain is on a slant, with dips and a mix of grass, dirt, and mulch. Please wear good shoes. - Steep stone steps to get down to the fenced area. - Please CHECK TRAFFIC! Weekday rush hour or weekend highway detours may impact your arrival! - This may not be the best spot for dogs under 20lbs. There are some spots in the fence they could shimmy under or at the gates. We hope you enjoy your time here! We have toys, water, and other necessities. As a reactive dog owner myself I understand how hard it can be to find a private space. Our yard is very secluded. You may on occasion hear the neighbors small dog but shouldn't see her. We have a privacy screen up but do not share the fence line directly with the neighbors.

Cleanliness

100% of guests said this spot was as clean as expected during their visit.

Hazards

Slippery when wet or icy - we will be using pet safe salt in the winter months. Black stall mats at the entrance get HOT. Leash and unleash your dog on the dirt/mulch. I try to water them down periodically before guests but I'm not always able to. There are some gaps of a few inches under the gates and sections where a small dog may easily shimmy out. Also, I have blocked a part of the old barn with a plank of wood but a small dog may still try to squeeze under the barn after wild bunnies. Wild mushrooms grow, I try to pluck as many as possible.

This is my dogs home too! - No Smoking - ALWAYS fully close the gate when you leave. We have bears, deer, etc. who may use the spot if you don't. - Trash is ONLY for poop, water bottles and tissues. Hello and welcome to our Sniffspot! We hope you enjoy your time here. Just a reminder to please pick up the toys and water bowls that you use when here and place them in the 'used/dirty bin'. This ensures a clean space for the pups that visit after you. Thanks! It's a large, open one acre pasture with plenty of room to run and play. Tall fir trees, our home and other single family homes surround the property. There are neighbors who walk their dogs or play with their dogs in their yards. There are no shared fence-lines but we are noting this in case your dog might be reactive or sensitive to seeing and hearing other dogs and people. There are also chickens nearby - see note below. Double gated entrance for security. Park along the fence on the gravel drive. Plenty of room for your pup to enjoy the zoomies! A few things below to note, thank you! *🎾💦 For the toys and water bowls, we have labeled bins for 'clean' and 'dirty/used'. Please utilize items from the clean containers and then place in used/dirty so we can thoroughly clean them. There are cleaning materials in case you would like to sanitize or self-clean bowls or toys. Thank you! * 🥾The terrain of the pasture does have some dips, bunny holes and there is a section of mown grass, as well as a portion of longer pasture grass, and sticks from the fir trees. Wearing solid and/or waterproof shoes will help you navigate the land. *💦 There is a water jug and spigot with hose in the pasture to use for drinking water. If you use the spigot, please be sure to turn it off. There are small plastic pools available for warm days. You are welcome to use a pool, but please empty it after use and return it to the fenceline area. *💡we have 4 sets of string lights on our fence, two small solar spotlights on the fence, and one large spotlight on the far power pole (motion sensor). It adds some brightness to the pasture for evening visitors. Note that since it is an acre lot, there is a portion of the pasture that is still quite dark once the sun is fully set. *🐓 There are two hens and one rooster on a neighboring fence line and the gate to their henhouse yard has a sign (don't let the chickens out, no matter what they say), as well as a secure gate latch plus bungee cord. They will stay on the far side of their yard, and hide under the shrub/tree cover so are usually not be visible from the Sniffspot pasture, but wanted to share in case this is bothersome to some pup guests. Our rooster, as well as neighborhood roosters, are regularly heard. *please note: due to the burn ban, wildland fires and the dryness of our land, we ask for no smoking on the property at this time, thank you
