55One of my new favorite sniff spots in town! There’s so much area to explore and Ryan was a really kind and gracious host. Looking forward to going back often!
55Great spot and the views, wow! Ryan was great. She met with us when we got there for a quick debrief of the property which was handy. I’d recommend planning 1.5 hours so you have plenty of time to enjoy the space.
55Host is very kind and meets you on arrival for a short introduction to her property. We all had a great time! Thank you for this experience.
55Big space, dogs had a great time exploring! Host met us at the front and described where to explore, which was very helpful. We drove right to it but I could see how some people could get a little lost. However, there are little signs with the house number that point directly where you need to go. Piggy back on what others have said, book extra time to get in ample exploring!
55If I could give more stars, I would! This sniffspot is awesome.
55a very cool spot! the host is super nice, and she left out some dog and people snacks which is very sweet. the land can be a little confusing so definitely check in with her on your first visit to get the run down. my dogs had a great time!
55This is a magical spot with many opportunities for exploration! We went cross country and hiked through fields and forests; was a great workout for both me and the pup. Ryan is an awesome host and gave me an orientation of the property before we took off to play.
55I wasn’t quite sure what to expect driving up the long gravel road, but Ryan’s property is so lovely. Ryan herself is also a gem. She gave me the lay of the land and was so sweet. Note to first timers: keep driving up the road, past all the other homes, until you see her blue house. It can be confusing, but just follow the gravel road past her neighbor’s house. So the property itself consists of her backyard which has a doggy pool and lots of areas to sniff (careful of all the bees this time of year) and then the land through her cousin’s property (which seems to be a Christmas tree farm?) into BLM land, where all the trails are. We checked out her backyard and headed onto the trails after. It was nice and quiet and it felt safe. Next time I’m wearing better shoes, because I did turn around at some point due to not wearing the right shoes. This Sniffspot would also be fun to go with a friend and multiple dogs (provided they all get along!) if you feel uncomfortable walking into the woods by yourself. I will bring bear spray next time just in case we run into any wildlife out there.
55Lots of space to run around, a little hard to tell where to go, definitely recommend reaching out before getting up there because cell service is spotty.
45This spot high above North Plains has beautiful views. It is a long winding drive up here, with a long stretch of gravel at the end. We had some trouble finding it at first because the mapping program first took us to a run down house with lots of rusted vehicles. Because this is a new Sniffspot, Ryan did not yet have any of the Sniffspot signage. I'm sure she will put it out as soon as it arrives. It was a little daunting, but a kindly neighbor directed us to keep driving around the bend on the main gravel road, until we saw Ryan's pretty blue house. She met us outside, explained the area, and showed us the dog toys, water and people snacks that were available. There are a lot of Christmas tree farms up this way with BLM land nearby. Our Aussie had a fine time bounding through the tall grass and pine trees. Lots of good sniff spots, of course! We did not see any foxtail grass, nor did he end up with any ticks, which was a big plus. You can have a really good hike up here, but give yourself and your dog enough time. We had to leave a little early to make an evening activity, but next time I would book 2 hours instead of 1 to do more exploring.

Nature in the City Private Dog Park

Nature in the City is a unique Private Dog Park that is 1 1/2 acres of beautiful natural land with varied landscapes. Our natural setting has different areas including 2 grassy fields perfect for fetch w/discs, ropes, or toys, (balls are not best here due to all of the surrounding bushes), areas great for running, a forested area with several nature trails for a hiking adventure where your dog(s) can run, explore, run & feel free, a large tree’d area that your pups can run under, and a healthy little creek that your pups can wade in, cool off, and drink from. Your dogs will have so many different sniffing and secure off-leash exploring opportunities here! Our spot is so much more than just a fenced field! The area is diverse and so much fun for your dog(s). There are a couple areas on the trails that are a little steep, there’s an area where you have to walk on logs 🪵, and the little creek has to be stepped over, so people with limited mobility may have issues in these areas of the spot. There are plenty of spaces and trails that are suitable for all abilities. If you’re looking for a basic fenced field to play chuck-it then this probably isn’t your spot. We are continually working on our property, so every time you visit it will have more open space, more trails, and less blackberry bushes. We provide a rain/sun shelter with foldable chairs and lots of supplies including dog toys & balls, poop bags, hand sanitizer, natural bug spray, wipes, hand towels, cornhole, 2 lounge chairs, 4 folding chairs. a kids size picnic table, and fresh drinking water for your pups. There are open areas with sun ☀️, and there is shade all day due to many large trees. Our property is fully secure with 5 to 6 ft fencing. We are located close-in on the Westside of Vancouver one mile from I-5 on 78th Street in West Hazel Dell near Felida. *Seasonal Attention-We have baby bunnies on our property. They usually hide really well, but if your pup finds a baby or a nest, please redirect your pup to try to avoid the bunnies from getting hurt. The blackberries are ripe and yummy right now! Feel free to pick some while you’re here! Thank you!
