45Clean and spacious! There are some holes in fences and burs that stuck to our doodles’ feet and coats
55Such a lovely space— my dogs enjoyed every minute we were there. Host was communicative as well, which I appreciate very much!
55The fenced section was secure. Tennis balls were provided but my dog just wanted to sit and enjoy the breeze.
55Space was great, liked that there were on and off leash areas
55Such an awesome spot to roam with the Pups! Our dog, loved sniffing around the grass and barn.
55I was soo happy to make it out to this spot finally! I got there earlier than our scheduled apt, and Kristine was so kind to let us come anyway. Can’t wait to come back when the pasture is green, but the space was wonderful! The fully fenced area is perfect for pups who don’t have great recall. The partially fenced area has gaps, but my pups didn’t have issues with exploring. There is so much to explore, and the empty barnyards were fun to play in. Kristine was lovely, offered to let us roam outside of the sniffspot as well. Directions were clear, and we enjoyed so much, can’t wait to come back!
55Great spot to run and explore!
55The space was just as promised. It was clean, spacious and well-kept. We used the fully-fenced area since our younger dog is still in training with recall. The dogs had a great time doing zoomies and wrestling. Best of all, they were both tired at the end.
55Great spot! I had a bunch of questions and Kristina was very responsive and answered all my questions. Great location away from traffic and noise.
55I have a large, reactive dog. He’s reactive to other dogs and not stranger friendly. This was the perfect spot to give him some freedom to explore and play ball in the fully fenced 1/2 acre. Host was great with clear instructions on how to find the property and parking area. It was very hot on the day we visited and I have a kinda lazy dog. 😂 He explored, sniffed, played ball a few times and then just found some shade to chill. We’ll be back with his brothers when it’s not so hot, they will have a blast. The larger, partially fenced area we’ll explore next time, ran out of time at this visit.

*AUG 2024* Our neighbors house is for sale so there may be more people/car traffic (on another driveway) while the house is shown. Our neighborhood is very quiet but we do have one neighbor that uses our driveway to access their home. There is a parallel driveway with 3 homes. On weekends especially, our neighbors may be out on their tractors/mowers. It is usually only a short period of time. If any major work is being done, I block the calendar.

Description

**NOVEMBER 2024 UPDATE: Our fields are now brown & dry but we keep them mowed. Please be aware of this before booking (it is not lush, soft green grass anymore). **RENOVATIONS AT NEIGHBOR'S HOUSE: Our neighbor is undergoing house & yard renovations so it can be noisier than usual out here. Feel free to message me first if you want to try to work around their schedule for your visit and I will do my best to accommodate. Additionally, guests can enjoy the adjacent hillside which is partially-fenced. You are welcome to enjoy this off-leash or, if you're more comfortable, take a little stroll through the grass. Our property is pretty much full sun. If you visit midday/afternoon, be prepared for heat as the weather warms up. We have planted some trees but they are still quite small.

Cleanliness

100% of guests said this spot was as clean as expected during their visit.

Hazards

We are in a county-zoned area next to Quicksilver Park so there may be critters, big & small. Please wear closed-toe shoes as there may be ticks or other bugs. While there are mountain lions/coyotes/bobcats in the area, they tend to only come out at night and we rarely see them (have never seen a mountain lion, even on our security cameras at night). We do mow the grass regularly, however, we do NOT use any pesticides so weeds (including prickly ones) can be present. We do our best to eliminate these naturally with the weed whacker or mower.

Private 2 Acre Forest Swimming Hole In Rural Woodside (Update: 7 stairs added)

This is a private, undeveloped, forested spot. If you are interested in this spot, you and your dog should be up for a mini adventure. This spot is not a manicured, backyard park. It is wild and beautiful, and a rare find in this area. THERE IS NO TRASH SERVICE AT THIS FOREST LOCATION. PACK EVERYTHING OUT WITH YOU, INCLUDING DOG POOP BAGGIES. The trail starts at the west (downhill) end of the parking spot, and winds downhill to the creek (there are a couple of switchbacks). The trail from the parking area to the creek is less than 5 minutes long. At the bottom of the trail, is a deck. Beyond the deck is a year-round creek with a swimming hole. There are fish, frogs, newts, and crawdads. All wildlife is protected, so please don't catch or remove them. You may walk up and down along the creek exploring, as long as you turn around if you see a waterfall downstream or a house in the distance. The trail that leads downhill to the creek is intermediate, not for beginners or flip-flops. There should be no poison oak or ticks on the trail, but if you venture off the trail, you may encounter poison oak or ticks. There are blackberry bushes to the sides of the trail that resemble poison oak. There should be no foxtails. You may see wild animals. As a wild spot, you may encounter typical hazards that are present in most local forest trails, such as wildlife, water, and trip-and-fall hazards. This is a private spot, and there should be no other people or dogs during your booking. If you see someone during your booking, please let us know as soon as possible, so that we can take steps to prevent them from trespassing again. There is no lighting at this spot, so if you book before sunrise or after sunset, please bring a headlamp or flashlight. There is no trash collection service at this location, so please pack out any trash. Thank you!
