Hello! I have 2.5 fully fenced in acres for your dog to run, sniff, swim and explore. I do have goats on the property (and my neighbors) that are fenced separately, but dogs have access to smell them. There are horses, goats, donkeys, and chickens nearby, but not on the property. There’s a small pond with fish and frogs, and a pool that dogs can access (is not fenced). I have a small dog who may bark when you arrive but will stop. There are several cats on the property who are used to large dogs and very good at disappearing. Chances are you won’t see them at all. I also have two small pastures that can be closed off to keep dogs in a smaller area if necessary. Lots of trees for shade. Our grass is always cut down and we keep the property watered so no sign of rattlesnakes. During the summer months, there are stickers, welcome to country life. We have had several dogs come visit the property and they always love coming back. I try to meet everyone for their first visit but if I can’t I will send a message letting you know. We often have other dogs on the property as we run a dog daycare/boarding business but we will secure all other animals in another paddock at the back of our property when we have visitors. The bathroom is on your first right as you enter the property, accessible from the outside deck and has a sign on the door. There is also an over 100 feet long outdoor dog playpen (32 inch tall) that provides a spacious activity area on a dirt/grass if you want to relax by our 1000+ years old redwood tree and keep an eye on your pup/s. Our redwoods sanctuary is perfect for celebrations, gatherings and private recharging in nature for dogs and their families. Only 15 min drive to dog friendly beaches, 10 min to 'Grove of Old Trees' (dog friendly) and to downtown in Occidental which is known for its shops, galleries and a famous dog friendly Howard Station Cafe. It's also an 8 min drive to 'St. Teresa of Avila Church' in Bodega where Alfred Hitchcock's film 'The Birds' was filmed. If you are visiting with little humans, please enjoy our outdoor toddler playground, swing (for kids and adults), an outdoor mud kitchen with kids' picnic table and a large sandbox with toys. Almost an acre of pastureland overlooking Jacoby Creek Valley for dogs to sniff, roam, play, and most of all be off leash and in nature. Come with your dog alone or bring some friends and dog pals (up to 6 total) to romp and chase and play while you relax. There are some toys and obstacles, water, and lots to dig. Please bring your own balls. There may be cattle in the adjoining field below, occasionally deer though rarely in the daytime. Chairs are set for a pastoral view, particularly lovely at sunset. People and cars may go by on the driveway. The spot is all yours when you are there and with respect to reactive dogs, I won't greet you unless we set that up in advance. I want the dogs to feel that this is their space and we won't intrude. If your plans change you can cancel or reschedule up to 2 hours prior to your reservation through the app but it does not allow changes after that. The new picnic table is meant for your use, please keep dogs with muddy paws off the table. Please no smoking or using while visiting. Enjoy!

2 people max per reservation. Additional guests can be added by purchasing the “Extra Guest Add-On” for each person. For directions, please take screenshots of the “photos for access” in case you lose reception in the area and in case people take off our Sniffspot logo signs. Plan to arrive 15 min before your scheduled visit to make sure you have time to find the spot, park, walk etc. We are home with our dogs so please don’t get too close to the big house to avoid our dogs from wanting to come out and play. Small house and basketball court ok to be around. Magical place for dogs and owners. The property is beautiful and interesting to explore and relax with benches throughout. Bring your own pic-nic and enjoy it in the secret garden. Or shoot some hoops in the basketball court. It’s an experience for both dog and owner. Come enjoy 3+ acres of fully fenced area! A true hidden gem with entrance from the awesome San Vincent public hike trail with access to free parking. UNEVEN TERRAIN: Entrance can be steep and there are hills in the property and uneven terrain. Terrain takes a couple of days after rain to fully dry out so wear good shoes and always watch your step. We have three dogs who will be kept indoors and out of sight during your visit. Getting into the property is an adventure of its own, just follow the signs. 2-5 min walk from parking lot. Once you are here you can explore freely and take it all in :) IMPORTANT: Public parking at entrance of trail and entrance to property is via hike trail. Every now and then you might encounter a person walking a dog there or riding a horse. Please come prepared! We do not provide bags or trash cans (so please try to take your dog’s poop with you, if you can find it) We provide water but you must get it yourself. You can find a bowl at the outdoor sink next to the green house on the west door. The water from the sink is clean well water. Please leave bowl on the same spot. Restrooms are not available. If plum trees have fruit feel free to pick some and enjoy! Fun gopher holes they can put their nose in, but please stop your dog from digging! 😅 Note for reactive dogs: We completely understand how important safety is for reactive dogs, and many guests choose our space for that reason. That said, please note that the trail to get to our property is public and not something we can control. You may run into another dog or horse on the public trail. Additionally, at the corner of the western side, there is heavy fencing and dense bushes that act as an additional barrier, but a neighboring dog might be present and bark. Our space itself is secure, fully fenced, and a safe environment. All just for you. No other animals inside the property unless you request a playdate with one of our dogs. Please don’t forget to download the photos and pay attention to the directions to know the proper address to put on your GPS. And remember you might lose reception here so copy those as well.
