55Fun time! Our three rambunctious hellions had a blast running, sniffing, and playing in the creek. The road nearby made us a little nervous, but we just tried to keep distance. We all got a little muddy for sure, but NBD - small price to pay for a good romp!
55The only concern is a nearby road but my dog went HAM in the pond Thanks for being so respectful
55Such a stellar yard and creek for the pups to play in. They had a blast! We can’t wait to come back laze in the sun.
55Great spot for water loving dogs! Lots of options. They can run, sniff and swim. Also a lovely spot for their human companions.
55Walter and I loved this spot! It had so much space for him to explore and play. He found lots of fun sticks too! He's very interested in the creek, but eventually, I'm sure he'll try to swim.
55It doesn’t get any better than this for a dog who likes to swim, catch frisbees, chase sticks, eat grass, and roll around. I wouldn’t recommend it for dogs who don’t have good recall off leash because it’s incredibly interesting, no matter which way you turn. There is no fencing, and that was not a problem with our Aussie, who was thrilled with all the space to run and swim. It was also an excellent spot to Birdwatch because of all the vegetation and nearby fields. We got to see the bald eagle and the very big nest. We loved it here!
55This place is outstanding! We had a great time! The host is very professional and gracious. This is paradise for a dog that loves the water. Thank you so much for having us and we look forward to coming back.
55Appreciated the lack of mud this time around, and my boy enjoyed fetching sticks out of the water!
55My dog and I had such a fun time here! Lots of room to run around and river access is a plus! Highly recommend!
55Great place, but be warned your dog will most likely be filthy when they are done. This spot has water, mud and plenty of tall grass for lunch. Also we saw a pair of bald eagles and other birds.

Description

Welcome to our Wooded Wonderland! Enjoy our private 2-acre unfenced backyard with plenty of room to play, run, and swim. Rock Creek runs through our property, so if your pup loves we to get wet or swim, this is the place to be. This is a family home with folks living in it. Depending on when you book, you’ll most likely see us in the house going about our business; you can see from the photos, the separation between our house and where you and your pup will be playing will give you ample privacy. During the rainy, cold winter months, this SniffSpot can get pretty muddy. Additionally, we don’t rake our leaves as they bring nutrients back into the soil as they break down. So, wear shoes that will keep your feet dry! The stairs and deck are off-limits at this time for everyone's safety. During the summertime, feel free to enjoy the abundance of wild blackberries and plums. If you're lucky, you may spot the bald eagles who nest on our property! Please note that our property is next to a busy road. But there is plenty of space to run and play that does not require you or your pup to be near it.

Cleanliness

100% of guests said this spot was as clean as expected during their visit.

Hazards

Blackberry bramble mark the borders of our property. Since this is a completely unfenced property, various wildlife—deer, beavers, nutria, elk, raccoons, and herons to name a few—visit the property, which means you'll see their droppings here and there. There is some uneven ground that naturally comes with a wooded property. This SniffSpot can get pretty muddy after a good rain. Additionally, the spot is next to a busy road.

Nature in the City Private Dog Park

Nature in the City is a unique Private Dog Park that is 1 1/2 acres of beautiful natural land with varied landscapes. Step out of the city and into our natural setting that features different areas including 2 grassy fields perfect for fetch w/discs, ropes, or toys, (balls are not best here due to all of the surrounding bushes), a couple of forested areas, a tall grassy wetland-like area, several nature trails for hiking adventures where your dog(s) can explore, run & feel free, and a healthy little creek that’s a hit with the pups. They can wade, cool off, and drink from the natural water. Your dogs will have so many different sniffing and secure off-leash exploring opportunities here! Our spot is so much more than just a fenced field! The area is diverse and so much fun for your dog(s)! This is a great spot to work on recall. There are a couple areas on the trails that are a little steep, there’s a trail where you have to walk on logs 🪵, and the little creek has to be stepped over, so people with limited mobility may have issues in these areas of the spot. There are plenty of spaces and trails that are suitable for all abilities. If you’re looking for a basic fenced field to play chuck-it then this probably isn’t your spot. We are continually working on our property, so every time you visit it will have more open space, more trails, and the blackberry bushes will be trimmed back. We provide a rain/sun shelter with 4 foldable chairs and lots of supplies including dog toys & balls, poop bags, hand sanitizer, natural bug spray, wipes, hand towels, first aid kit, and a cornhole yard game. Located outside are 2 zero-gravity reclining chairs, a kids size picnic table, and fresh drinking water for your pups. There are open areas with sun ☀️, and there is shade all day due to many large trees. Our property is fully secure with 5 to 6 ft fencing. We walk the fence line regularly and check to make sure it’s secure. We are located close-in on the Westside of Vancouver one mile from I-5 on 78th Street in West Hazel Dell near Felida. *It gets muddy in areas when it has been wet/raining outside. Come prepared so you enjoy your visit. **We just added 6 solar flood lights in the main field area for those of you who need to visit after dark. They light up the entryway, main field, and the shelter. Thank you!
