55Amazing!!!
55Lovely spot. Dogs really enjoyed exploring.
55Magical place!!! Very special, very clean, dogs had SOOOOOO much fun! We spent 3 hours here and loved every minute. Dogs will sleep very well tonight. The directions were SPOT ON. Tammy was very responsive and supportive.
55My dog was so delighted to explore the woods and go wading in the creek! The spot is quiet and really beautiful. It's exactly what we were looking for. Like with any woodsy location, I would do a tick check after you leave—we found one on my husband after giving our dog a bath.
55This is a doggie heaven if your dogs enjoy the water. Very private
55been here a few times now, absolutely love it!
55Really nice place for my dog. She absolutely enjoyed it, a bit tricky to find my follow the directions provided!
55Amazing!!
55I really enjoyed this sniff spot and my dog had a blast playing in the water.
55Our dog has a lot of fun at this spot. The instructions is clear. We leashed our dog from the car to the trails downside. Once we went down the hill, we felt very safe to unleash the dog and let him explore. There are so many things to explore in the nature, and love the tranquility in the forest.

Description

This is a private, undeveloped, forested spot. If you are interested in this spot, you and your dog should be up for a mini adventure. This spot is not a manicured, backyard park. It is wild and beautiful, and a rare find in this area. THERE IS NO TRASH SERVICE AT THIS FOREST LOCATION. PACK EVERYTHING OUT WITH YOU, INCLUDING DOG POOP BAGGIES. The trail starts at the west (downhill) end of the parking spot, and winds downhill to the creek (there are a couple of switchbacks). The trail from the parking area to the creek is less than 5 minutes long. At the bottom of the trail, is a deck. Beyond the deck is a year-round creek with a swimming hole. There are fish, frogs, newts, and crawdads. All wildlife is protected, so please don't catch or remove them. You may walk up and down along the creek exploring, as long as you turn around if you see a waterfall downstream or a house in the distance. The trail that leads downhill to the creek is intermediate, not for beginners or flip-flops. There should be no poison oak or ticks on the trail, but if you venture off the trail, you may encounter poison oak or ticks. There are blackberry bushes to the sides of the trail that resemble poison oak. There should be no foxtails. You may see wild animals. As a wild spot, you may encounter typical hazards that are present in most local forest trails, such as wildlife, water, and trip-and-fall hazards. This is a private spot, and there should be no other people or dogs during your booking. If you see someone during your booking, please let us know as soon as possible, so that we can take steps to prevent them from trespassing again. There is no lighting at this spot, so if you book before sunrise or after sunset, please bring a headlamp or flashlight. There is no trash collection service at this location, so please pack out any trash. Thank you!

Additional rules

As you explore the creek, if you walk so far down the creek that you see a small waterfall, turn around. There is a private residence around that bend. If you see a house while exploring in either direction along the creek, turn around, you've gone too far. If conditions are safe and you use the fire pit, keep a close eye on it, and keep the flames below waist level. Importantly, use the bucket (next to the fire) to douse the fire with creek water to fully extinguish the fire before you leave. The spot is on private property. The land on the opposite side of the creek is Open Space preserve, and not included in the spot. Although sniffspot allows 2 hour cancellation, please give much more than 2 hours notice if you need to cancel a weekend or holiday spot. Those days often book solid from morning til night, and if you cancel only 2 hours beforehand, it doesn't give enough time for others to take your time slot because they have already seen that our spot was fully booked that day. We will have to block people who do this more than once.
