55This is a great find in Angel Fire NM. Easy to get to and off the main road. The spot is an absolutely huge and gorgeous parcel with stunning views and mostly in its natural state with plenty to sniff and discover. The trees provide plenty of shade, and there are developed areas for dry camping that had a cooler of fresh water. The only gap on the fence I saw (I did not walk the whole perimeter !) was at the entrance gate as the gate is crafted from open metal tubing they most dogs could fit through. However just drive far back into the property and you wont have to worry about this. If your dog is a roamer this place is for you ! I’ll come again and probably book a couple of hours and bring a picnic and camp chair next time. It’s a very relaxing and gorgeous property. It was also perfectly clean of dog poop.Kendra B.

55This was a great place to visit, very beautiful. Sniffspot said I should contact Landon since the spot had not been used for a while. I messaged Landon through the app and provided my phone number, but was not contacted back. However, I booked our visit 2 hrs in advance, so not a lot of time to get back to me before our scheduled visit. My husband and I decided to drive there anyway. We figured it would be a pleasant drive (55 min) if nothing else. When we arrived, there was a closed gate that required a keypad code. This was never provided in my reservation reply. We decided to pull our car to the side and walked under the fence and went for a stroll anyway. The owner (presumably Landon's relative) approached us. We explained we made a Sniffspot reservation. She was very inviting and super friendly and gave us more information about the property. In addition to being a Sniffspot, it is a campground for dry camping. There are about 8 partially tame mustangs that roam the property. The property was big enough that we never made it to the boundary to see the fence. Because this is an open area with wildlife, there is random piles of elk and horse droppings, but not a problem for us. My husband and I liked it so much that we plan to return next summer to dry camp.Suzann D.

FAQ about our Angel Fire dog parks
Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 81% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the Angel Fire area are 5 stars.
How do I know if a dog park works for my dog?
