55We enjoyed an hour of play and exercise at this lovely farm in Petaluma. The host is both welcoming and gracious. Our 110 lb German Shepherd enjoyed hiking, exploring and sniffing around this entire property. We discovered an old barn to sniff, a field to play ball, several out structures & short trails around the property. Even our little 10 lb Maltese joined us on the hike (a rarity for a dog who generally prefers the couch to exercise)! Best of all, we had a whole hour of off-leash time for both dogs--a rare treat!
Thank you to our kind host, Antoni who provided us with a space to bond as a family—pets and all! And, our 15 year old son, Finn, was phone-free, running with his dog off-leash for the first time ever! (Priceless!!!) Thank you to Antoni and all other hosts for spaces like these which allow our dogs to run and play without fear or anxiety that public parks often bring. These private spaces have been an important part of our rehabilitation process from attacks we have experienced in public spaces. We have learned that bringing our large dog to a public park often leads to confrontations from other dogs and has made our pup anxious and fearful.
We thought that we would never be able to see our dogs run off leash again --until we found Sniffspot!! Each time we visit these private spaces, I see the positive changes in our dogs—more confident, less anxious and eager to explore new spaces. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

55Beautiful, huge, hilly, quiet, very rural property surrounded by similar property on all sides. Excellent fencing (wood posts & crossbars with rigid wire horse; I didn’t measure but I’d estimate 5 ft tall). Multiple areas for exploring, acres of wide open spaces for running. The place was very clean and the footing was comfortable for paws. The host was very hospitable, and he even reached out after our visit to make sure it went well and ask for any feedback.
My Great Pyrenees had an absolute blast, and I enjoyed the scenery and tranquility. Didn’t see or hear a single other dog or human, and also saw no foxtails. Be sure to check your dog (and yourself) for ticks after visiting, though. I found two tiny ones walking on my dog’s head.
Absolutely wonderful–we’ll be back very soon!

55Great property and tons of stuff for my dog to sniff, including all the long grasses and old hay in the barn. No other animals or people in sight! There is some occasional relatively fast moving car traffic for any dogs who are car reactive. Lots of conveniently located buckets to drop off poop bags and water for the dogs, plus lots of shady areas. Note for my fellow curly haired dog owners, I had to spend a bit of time picking out fox tails from my dog's feet so you may want to consider putting on booties.Hillary L.

55Very spacious. My dogs love it. They both had the best time of their lives running around and going up and down the terrain. We have a backyard but definitely nothing compared to how big this place is. Jasmer May B.

55Such an amazing spot! I wish I had taken photos and video because my pup and her friend loved it so much, but I was so caught up just watching them enjoy themselves. This truly does feel like an off leash hike, with the protection of a fully fenced space. Even with a full hour of play and walking around, we were not able to visit the full property. Very much looking forward to coming back soon!Amanda M.

55My dog Zeke and I had a great time! We started the day at the property where Zeke was able to explore, sniff, and run around to his hearts content. The property is lovely, has buckets for dog bags, water bowls, toys, and good fencing. Zeke isn’t a ‘dog park’ kind of dog so this was a wonderful way for him to have some space to run and explore in a safe space. Bonus of the day was easy access to downtown Petaluma for brunch on our way back the East Bay. We look forward to our next visit! Crista L.

55Wow! This place is fabulous!!
Our energetic dogs had a blast sniffing in the sheds, grass, rocks & trees for 1.5hrs! SO much fun space with lots of climbing areas to wear them out.
We couldn’t believe how many nooks and crannies worth of space this property has and the dogs took full advantage. We will definitely be adding this to one of our top spots! Misty L.

55This sniffspot is tucked in a small valley with great views. We were here as the sun was going down at 5:00 and the amber light on the hills was gorgeous! The fenced in part is the major play area, half of which is a pretty steep hillside. From the top you get a peak over into the Petaluma valley. Water is back by the parking area and your dog can be off leash anywhere on the fenced in property. Jonathan F.

55I love this Sniffspot. And Poppy REALLY loves this spot. It’s HUGE and full of places to explore, which is right up her alley. It’s also lovely for us two-legged tagalongs. Peaceful with beautiful scenery. I will definitely be bringing Poppy back for another visit. She had an amazing time.
While it’s a hit for me and Poppy, there are some things to know. The space is rugged with tall dry grass and it’s hilly. However, there is an area that’s flat and easy to get to from your car, but that is a bit overgrown. Claudette B.

55Great visit! Lots of land for my dog to explore (hills, flat/grassy areas and outbuildings). First Sniffspot experience—definitely enjoyed letting her roam safely and not worrying about how she might interact with other dogs (usually good but every now and then she gets anxious/unpredictable). Didn’t have to think about that. :) Susan F.

55Fabulous! It was our first Sniffspot booking, and it was a major hit with all four of our dogs! Antoni the owner communicated well and was there to greet us on our arrival to show us the basics. Since the parking area is inside the fenced property, we could let the dogs out the moment we closed the gate behind us and parked the car. We had an hour, but our dogs went so wild they were exhausted after about 40 minutes! No problem, though, because the amenities included purified well water in a refillable bowl right there inside the gate where we parked. Antoni also thoughtfully provided poop bags, but we always carry our own, and left two deposits in the cans he also provides. One of our dogs is a bit lame, so I was concerned that she might have had trouble getting over the slopes on the property (not much of it is flat), but she absolutely romped it! They all did, and clearly were enjoying every minute. It's on a quiet rural lane only about 10 minutes drive from downtown Petaluma; very peaceful and quiet. I think the best thing about it is that it is so big; 5 acres - our dogs have never had that much space to themselves off-leash, so it's no wonder they went crazy with excitement the moment they jumped out of our car. Thank you, Sniffspot, and thank you, Antoni - we'll be back soon!Paul M.

55First time Using Sniff Spot. Visiting from out of town stayed at local hotel and needed a place to exercise 5 mo Shepherd mix and my 10 year old maltipoo. What an amazing property. Secure - wooden fence has additional steel mesh so dogs can’t slip through planks. Fenced field/pasture was on a hill side with shrubbery, tall grasses, some dirt. Perfect enrichment environment. Puppy couldn’t stop running and sniffing everywhere. Maltipoo let her inner wild child out and rolled in dirt. Very cute watching her try to jump through grasses taller than she. Property was quiet and beautiful. Shelter in pasture had chairs and little table but I had fun walking the property line, practicing recalls with doggos. Host left out filtered water and garbage cans for doggie waste. Gave clear instructions and contact info if I had questions. It’s on a hill, so not ideal if you have mobility concerns, or if you need a flat field for practicing frisbee tricks but it is perfect for a puppy to be exposed to different terrain and ideal for exploring and letting dogs be dogs. I would recommend close toed shoes (no flip flops). I wish I lived closer…I’d be here every week! Teresa G.

55This is the best Sniff Spot I’ve visited! Antoni was there to meet me since it was my first visit. He gave me a personal tour, which was fantastic. He did ask permission first, though, so don’t worry if your dog is reactive, he will definitely let you explore on your own if that works out better for your dog. My dog is scared of strangers, but warmed up to Antoni within a few minutes. I was grateful for the tour, because the layout could be confusing the first time, but only because there is SO MUCH you have access to. Once you are inside and close the gate behind you, you have access to literally the entire five acres, even the old barn. The secure fenced area even surrounds the house. There are several fenced areas on the property from previous owners, but the gates to those are open and you can wander through them all. The perimeter fence is wood, but with mesh fence on top, and is very secure. There are only a couple of spots where a very small dog could get through a gap, but it was secure for my 40lb dog. We were there for an hour and I wished I had more time because there were so many areas to explore. There are large trees, two shelters, a couple of chairs, lots of large rocks to climb on, and hills and potholes to explore. My dog is exhausted from all the uphill running. I wish I could give more than five stars!Susan S.

FAQ about our Bay Point dog fields
Are dog fields safe?
If you are looking for an adventure, but also looking for safety, Sniffspot dog fields are a great option. While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, distracted dog owners, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks are much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private space for just you and doggy friends you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). Especially for training, privacy is ideal. Contrary to public dog parks, all Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog for off leash exercise or outdoor training. 93% of reviews on Sniffspot visits are 5 stars, while public dog parks often do not even have verified reviews. All payment is done securely online by credit card in a few simple clicks.
All park rental information is available online. Start by filtering parks by fencing, size and distractions, to find a private spot that works for your dog. If your dog has poor recall, you can visit one of our secure fields. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our dog fields where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. You can review the details of the listing to make sure it works as your desired activity space, for example, safe dog exercise, dog training, a stress-free adventure with your furry friend or even a puppy event. You can even check the park amenities chart for amenities such as indoor training facilities, agility field, synthetic turf, exercise balls or field parking availability in advance. If inclement weather is an issue or poor field conditions, you can reschedule your visit up to 2 hours in advance.
What are the requirements to bring my dog to a Sniffspot dog field?
We require that all four-legged friends have basic vaccinations or equivalent titers. We do not allow dogs with a bite history. We require that guests sign our waiver and agree to follow our safety rules. Make sure to check host rules before visiting to ensure, for instance, that you are following allowable sports activities rules and any special events rules.
Will there be other dogs at the Sniffspot field at the same time as me?
No. Facility rentals are for private play time and any host dogs are required to be kept away from the area during visits, so this is perfect for a private adventure for you and your doggie friends, and perhaps a human friend. Hosts understand that many guests have dogs in training and are nervous owners. So when you book a Sniffspot dog field you have the entire private spot to yourself. We also enforce 30 min time buffers between time slots so you will not run into other guest dogs or a previous person when coming or leaving in the field parking area. Some hosts may have multiple fields, but there is always a buffer between fields.
How much do Sniffspot fields cost?
Dog fields in the Bay Point area range from $6.0 and $6.0. The least expensive dog field is Zoomie zone. The most expensive dog field is Zoomie zone. Each host sets their own price, so you can check the price on the specific Sniffspot dog park listing.
