Our host was readily available by phone to make sure we were in the right place, and even came down to show us around and explain the property when we got lost. My dog had a great time exploring off leash without worry! There were people and dogs hanging along the shore within sight distance but far enough away that they weren’t an issue for us - there’s also quite a bit of rocky terrain in between so I didn’t have to worry with my reactive guy. Super beautiful scenery - worth the drive :)

Awesome spot and can’t wait to visit again! If you take the left fork after driving onto the property, you’ll end up on a big stretch of sandy beach with lots of room for wading and zoomies. I went to the right first, and while we did get to the water from there, it wasn’t quite as open. My dogs were in heaven and didn’t want to get back into the car when it was time to go.

If you have a fluffy dog that picks up burs, try to stay at the shoreline. We always carry dog towels and have seat covers to protect our vehicle from all of our adventures, so we were expecting dirty damp dogs! Plan accordingly and you and your dogs will love this spot. Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks.
