we have an approximately 2500 ft.² fully insulated shop with some agility equipment (tunnels, a couple of jumps, some weave poles/cones, tires) in addition to some people toys (giant connect four, cornhole, beer-less pong, etc) There is a heater to use, just please remember to turn it off when you leave. Expect the space to be chilly in the winter.- but not rainy, wet, or muddy!!! Right now, it’s pretty bare bones; the floor is concrete with the exception of some mats under jumps, but we plan to use the proceeds from the Sniffspot to get more mats and improve on the space as quickly we are able!

22+ acre property with 20 acres that is fully/securely fenced. The front half is an open field & orchard, the back is forested and has maintained trails throughout. There's covered seating in the field & woods, portapotty, drinking water station, toys etc - see amenities for more details. There are seasonal streams, ponds in the woods this time of year, plus extra puddles & mud during/after moderate-heavy rain. Foot bridges and woodchips keep the main trails in decent shape for walking but there are plenty of muddy areas to explore so expect a wet, dirty dog - waterproof traction boots (muckboots etc) recommended. There's an elevated dogwash station (with tethers) for faster cleaning that's easy on the back and keeps clothing drier; bring your own towels. Reservations are available up to 30 days in advance. Some days fill fast but plans can change & bookings get modified/canceled (2+hrs beforehand) - check back for an opening if interested. Step into our fully fenced in dog park nestled in a beautiful forest full of cedars, maples, and many many ferns. The dogs will be so mentally engaged jumping over logs, dodging through ferns and playing with sticks galore. There is a path worn in around the perimeter of the zone, but feel free to romp where ever you please if you dare! There are poop bags and a bucket for these at the front gate. There is water in a blue 5 gallon jug and a dog bowl. Please note- the road through the property to reach sniff spot is gravel!

Coming here will feel like you are in the country with the beauty of the mountains, a field to run in and a trail to hike in. *Please note that the acreage is a total of 86 acres including the crop areas. There is very little time that the crop area is restricted. When the pumpkins are grown, it is fun to walk up the rows and we welcome the pups to be in there, take photos etc. If you visit during planting, we ask the dogs stay out of that area as that can damage the crop. There is lots of space to run and walk/hike. The perimeter trail is approximately 3.5km. There is short grass, tall grass the dogs can go in and out all over the field in the front and middle of the property. As well as up the hill trail.

WEATHER ALERT: If you are checking the weather online check the Ferndale (98248) weather. The Bellingham weather stops at the Smith Road. My prevailing wind is from the South BUT I do get the cold NE wind from Canada. NOTE: This is an acreage area which formerly held dog events; barn hunt, earth dog, carting, rally, obedience, tracking and nose work. The off leash area was set up for the dogs to have a place to run and play safely away from the other dogs when not working. This is all sandy loam so no standing water even when it rains. There is a water faucet down by the smaller barn (west side). You are welcome to fill your dog's bowls. Just be sure you turn the water off after. I have put some folding chairs just inside the big door of the barn. You are welcome to use them. I have also put a shovel out there so you can fill in any holes your dog digs. It is important you put balls back in the crate, they do not do well under the mower (the mower doesn't like it either. Please fill in any large holes your dog digs, so my mower doesn't bog down in one. if you want a bit more room to run your dogs, you may close the 2 big gates and let your dog run in the "parking area". It is all fully fenced. Be aware, the big gate into the back pasture does have a gap under it. THE BACK PASTURE IS OFF LIMITS THERE IS LIVESTOCK BACK THERE! PLEASE PICK UP AFTER YOUR DOG EVEN IN THE BIG AREA. THANK YOU!!!

Parking is along a private gravel dead-end road. There is a SniffSpot sign on the double green gate. There are occasional dog-walkers along the road, but otherwise the spot is private.

Pull in at the west driveway of the Farm following the tree planted driveway to the field. Park in the grass area before you cross the ditch , before you cross into the berry field.The ditches have clean water in them - your dogs are welcome to play in the water. I know my dogs LOVE IT!!! Our space has been a favorite for people with reactive dogs as you literally have wide open space all to yourself and your dog companion. Timber Paws is a dog day camp service operating in and around the Bellingham, WA area. During non-operating hours our private and fully fenced-in dog park area is available for rent via Sniffspot. Take advantage of nearly 2 acres of natural, wooded terrain with plenty of space to run, chase, and fetch. The Pacific Northwest Trail, a through-hike trail hundreds of miles long, runs directly through our property via the gravel road and allows you to go on hikes of virtually unlimited duration. Please note that the standing propane heater is NOT for Sniffspot users. Please also keep out of the tiny house - guests are NOT permitted to enter. Any usage or tampering with the heater or tiny house will result in a loss of future booking privileges. PLEASE do not allow your dog to play with the toys and tennis balls if they are known to destroy them. These are intended for the day camp dogs and I can't keep constantly replacing them out of pocket. The garbage can is to throw away poop only. Please also bring your own water. Please replace any toys that are destroyed by your dog.

Space includes a small wooded area within the fenced area. Bathroom available on site in the smaller barn. SMOKE FREE ZONE. Pick up after dogs, garbage bin provided. There are a few seniors visiting with mobility issues which is taken into consideration when there is poop left behind. You can always message me and let me know a general area and I can try to run out and pick it up between the next visit. There are some small gaps in the fence, so this is a great spot for large and medium sized dogs. Not a spot recommended for small dogs or severely reactive. Please keep dogs leashed until it is your time slot and are in the designated area and keep in mind you may pass another dog owner with their dog on a leash leaving or entering the spot. IF YOU CAN NOT CONTROL YOUR DOG ON A LEASH WHEN PASSING ANOTHER DOG PLEASE DO NOT BOOK THIS SPOT. Lots of seniors visit this spot and they may need some extra time to walk to their cars.
