Top Public and Private Dog hiking trails in Lake City, Minnesota

We are about an .25 mile off the main road and our 10 acres go deeper into the woods. We have about 5 acres of wooded areas and 5 acres of open trails. It is a beautiful and private property. The property is 100% fenced- the fencing is 3 feet high- there is a gate in the driveway, once closed it is completely fenced in.

90 minute time slot. We have an open 70 acres surrounding a private pond with a trail thru the fields and woods around nature. The time allotment is 90 minutes only. We ask that our guests park by the barn and go straight to the lake then to the left around the lake. Trails are marked. It is about a 1 mile trail or more. trails are not plowed open in the winter but are perfect for snow shoeing, hiking an fat tire bikes in the snow on the trails or perfect spring to fall on the maintained trails.

There are 15 acres of native prairie grasses and plants. There are a few trees and rolling hills. There is approximately 1.5 miles of mowed trails that loop and connect, creating several options for new routes for each visit. There is also an outhouse available if needed. However, it is within our normally private area, so dogs must be on leashes and there are hooks for leashes while in use.

A beautiful mix of field, woods, and wetland, let your pup(s) run off that energy! The field trail is almost a 0.5 mi loop, but add on an extra trail to get more of your steps in! A short out-and-back path surrounded by tall wetland grass will lead you to a cool, clean segment of Lowes Creek. Every season is special and accessible! FYI - Early spring is a great time to visit! You really can see all the paths, the lay of the land when the trees are void of leaves. The riverbed, grass field, and smaller fenced area are all open for play! We have a beautiful piece of land with a (mostly) fenced perimeter and 1/3 acre fully fenced doggy play area. If you drive in by the picnic table you are in the center of 18 acres to play on and will be quite a distance from the road. ** This time of year you may need to park at the entrance off the road but walk in because of it still being soft with snow melt and spring rains. There are mowed walking paths to the beautiful Kinnickinnic river, far away from other people and animals. You and your dog will love it here! The river is cold and easy for dogs to hop in and out, (not easy for humans right now). If you want to keep them out of the water there is about 10 acres of open field where you park, separate and above the river so you don't need to have them down by the water at all. (although most dogs gravitate to there!)
