Time for rain boots! Stream goes through the middle of the spot and it gets muddy so wear your rain boots! Wide open pasture, fully fenced in. There's only one spot with irrigation so it gets dry, crackling, and some parts down to dirt in the summer. We do have an area that is grass for the dogs to roll around in. In the winter there can be a stream of water going through the middle of the pasture after rain. We have a Big water dish for dogs. Small pool for dogs to play in. Have toys and treats for the pups. Have friends with dogs?! Bring them all and come make a day of it! Feel free to bring a bbq, stereo, or games. Plenty of room for both the pups and the people to hang out and have a good time! We now have a porta potty for guests!! There are sheep in adjacent pasture certain times of the year but there is a 50+ foot buffer zone fenced off to keep sheep away from the fence.

Note: Current conditions are dry and the spot is 90% covered with medium bark to keep down the late season weeds. Please come prepared for these conditions. Note: On weekends during our olive harvest season (late October to early December) there will be workers in the orchard visible from the spot from time to time, quite a way away. Our dogs had a great time at this Sniff Spot! They were so curious about the sheep and horses. The owner provided water for the dogs which was nice. This spot is private (away from the home). Shade is limited, so make sure to go early. This will definitely be a regular spot for us when it starts to get cooler.

This is a pleasant large rural site in the country. The pasture is well mowed; there are no foxtails or burrs (always my first concern with pastures); and the pasture fencing is substantial. There are horses and livestock off to one side of the site. They're fenced off, of course, and taller grasses on that side create a visual barrier. The site is large enough to keep your dog quite far away from that area. With a dog with a good recall, this should pose no problem. Otherwise, a long line may not be a bad idea, especially if your dog isn't socialized to farm animals. My dog loved this site. It's flat, so he could just run and run and run. There is a nice shady area in the far corner for cooling off. The host was friendly and accommodating. One final note, as we worked all around the site, I kept thinking, this would be a nice site for those who do tracking. :)

Field is huge and grassy. The host was super responsive to messages (I’d made a last minute reservation and just wanted to be sure someone was aware). Host let me in and showed me the field; he even got some water for my dogs. Bring your own water dish as theirs went missing. Absolutely loved this spot!! Best Sniffspot we’ve been to by far!! The host, Beth, was incredibly welcoming and friendly. I told her about my special needs Bernedoodle puppy who is terrified of strangers and she knew exactly what to do (or not do) as in don’t engage with her. It’s obvious she knows dogs and my puppy was actually quite comfortable around her. That’s a win for my girl! The spot was very clean, lots of nice soft green grass for my Boxer and Bernedoodle to roll around and wrestle in. The property is huge and completely fenced so there was so much space for the pups to roam and sniff and play! There was a horse and a couple of goats and some chickens on the other side of the fence. My dogs started out barking at the horse but the horse was completely non-reactive to my dogs so they ended up being buddies and the horse was actually loping up and down the fence line with my pups, whinnying as if it wanted to play. So cute!! There is a ton of shade throughout the property and several lovely areas to sit and watch your pups play. There was a crystal clean kiddie pool filled for my pups as well that they just loved. All-in-all a great experience and we can’t wait to go back!! A paradise for pups and people alike…we didn’t want to leave! Thanks Beth for a lovely time with my fur babies.

This place is just the right size, beautiful, and clean. We had a great time tossing a ball around. There is a few horses, hens, and goats visible from the play area. One of the horses gets right up to the fence line, so be careful if your dog is fear reactive. The fence is just thin box wire and the dog can puts its nose through it. That being said, we’ve been training Charlie around the horses at Gibson Ranch and it paid off. He was very sweet with the horses, repeatedly dropping his ball near it as to initiate play! We both enjoyed it and when it came time to leave, Charlie didn’t want to go! Great Sniffspot! We’ll be back.
