Beautiful fields and woods for as far as the eye can see. Trails cut in the woods, trails cut through the fields. There is literally a trail I mow that winds all the way around the property. You can walk a sunny trail or a shady trail...my wife and I walk this trail with our six...yes you read that correctly SIX dogs just about every day. We are so lucky to call this home..I thought why not share it with you guys.

We really enjoyed our visit to Lybar. The dogs ran through the woods on the side of the hill as we walked through the trails. They got to take a peek at the horses in the stalls. Thank you Barbara so much for making your space available to us!

This is a great spot with some open play areas and some short trails as well as two horses (who were secured in the stable). The dogs had a blast here, running around smelling everything and going on the trails. They were a bit scared of the horses so they didn’t go near them much. There is horse poop around but my dogs weren’t very interested in it thankfully. I recommend wearing rain boots or muck boots especially if it’s been raining. Barbara was very nice, she greeted us when we arrived. I highly recommend checking out Barbara’s spot :)

Lovely spot! As others have mentioned - there are horses and with horses come horse poo - a delicacy for some dogs. Mine certainly enjoyed snacking and rolling in it! They enjoyed their baths after much less, but well worth the effort for the wonderful time they had frolicking! My only complaint is that in some spots the fence is more of a suggestion than a true barrier, so I will leave a long line on my more escape probe pooches. Overall though - we had a fantastic time and they wore themselves out running up and down the hills and trails.

It is a beautiful piece of property. I met up with some friends and we had 11 dog’s total. We decided to take to take the trail into the woods just be prepared that if you do, it is a very steep climb and one heck of a workout. The dogs made it look easy of course. If I come back again I would probably just hang in the meadow area and let the dogs run there instead of making a hike of it. Things to make note of not with the intention of deterring people but things I would want to know about a sniff spot: on the trail the property line was barbed wire, we were able to keep the dogs away from it, but if you’re dog gets the zoomies it’s something to be aware of. There was no barbed wire in the meadow area. Second and last thing is I had a tick crawling on me within 5 mins of being there and found a couple on the dogs after the spot. This ofcourse can happen anywhere but maybe spray yourself and the dogs down with bug repellent. Overall if I want to make the trek out to Mars Hill again I would definitely come back.

My pup was SO JAZZED to run around those trails. There is definitely a lot to explore, I feel like I only scratched the surface. The trail we picked was a pretty steep climb, but it looks like there are less steep options. It was an awesome properties and the views through the trees are fantastic. The host was very helpful and welcoming as well! We will definitely be back

Apollo and Bella had the best time roaming the meadows and exploring the woods. There were a few paths to choose from, we chose the steeper of the options and it was a peaceful little walk up to the top. We stuck to the main trail, but next time plan on trying the other paths and exploring the woods a little more. This is unlike other Sniffspot I’ve visited as it really offers so much between the combo of meadow/trails and forest to explore. We can’t wait to come back!

This was our first Sniffspot experience and my husband and I and our two young labs had a great time. The trail is steep but beautiful. The dogs ran up and down several times and now that we’re back home they are sound asleep. Great way to exercise your dogs as well as yourself in a lovely location.

Will there be other dogs at the Sniffspot hiking trail at the same time as me?

Sniffspot only allows one booking at a time and any host dogs are required to be kept away from the spot during visits. We also enforce 30 min time buffers between bookings.
