This spot is my fully fenced-in back yard made especially for my dogs. Shady spots and sun. Lowest fence is 4 feet tall next to the neighbors and tallest is 6 feet tall next to woods. Come for our glorious sunrises on the creek and sunsets in the fields or just to enjoy the day exploring the fields and creek. The dog area starts past the broken black fence behind the house and goes down through the fields and into the woods. I would appreciate it if you would kindly please keep the dogs leashes and wait until you are past the broken fence to allow your dog to do any business. If your dog is under control or if the horses are not out, you can let them loose right after the broken fence. If you think your dog might be nutty with the horses, please take appropriate measures. To get to the creek, go past the broken fence and keep going down the hill to the back tree line. I have included a map in the pictures. And then just keep walking; it’s about five minutes from the house to the trailhead. We have set out fluorescent yellow markers on the trees on the back tree line as you approach the trail. We also put up a blue sign that says “To The Creek” at the trail head. Once in the woods, walk down the steep hill and take the trail to the right at the bottom of the hill, before the little ravine. That trail will take you out to a spot where your dog can splash around and I’ve cut a few trails to explore back there. If you go to the red barn, you’ve gone too far. Complete freedom to roam on 30 acres with a bonus that our land is surrounded by another 200+ acres of electric company owned land with no roads, no cars, no neighbors… just grass and forest. We have a Google Earth picture roughly showing the property lines and the driveway for you to use while exploring. We ask that you please stay out of the treeline to the right of the driveway as you drive up the hill It's the neighbor's property and it's marked by no trespassing signs. There is no house on the property. Just a camper and a shed. Park anywhere on the road or at the big circle at the top (near the farm office.) We have wifi near the brown shed at the top of the road. Wifi: HSH Password: HardStruggleHomestead Be forewarned that our land is on the side of a mountain so the walk up the driveway will be on a slow incline. Your dogs will be tired after this trip, we promise. As of April 1st there are no animals or livestock on site except for a few bee hives on the property. Most often, the owner is not on site but may do some maintenance time to time. If you see him, he will wave hello… Rest assured he will not approach your dogs unless you approach him. We understand reactive dogs.

Acres of fun

I have a total of two acres available for SniffSpot. One is the main area that you immediately enter and is fully fenced. An additional area that is further back behind a cattle gate is available for use but unfenced at this time. We offer toys, water, water bowls, parkour equipment, lots of toys and a small pool for the summer. Long games of fetch or frisbee. Tug. If you dog loves to sniff there are lots of fox, deer and other creatures in the area to enliven your dogs nose! Easy parking available. We can even accommodate large groups or even your puppies birthday party!
