55I want to be fair with my review and therefore gave it 5 stars. Unfortunately the water level of the river was very high and the sand bank was under water, so we couldn't go there. We only had a small entract to the water to let the dogs go in. I should have checked that! I'm sure when the water level is lower, this is an amazing spot!Heike R.

55I agree with all other reviewers here-the 5star and even 1star comments were helpful as I knew to pay attention to country-directions and disregard no trespassing signs. It’s so beautiful and quiet here plus we saw bald eagles today. This is a nice place to practice leash-walk skills in 2.4 miles of mud around a working farm field. We will be back in the summer for minimum of 2 hours since I care about my vehicles and won’t drive them on the “road”. Looking forward to another visit when it’s dry and the riverbank shows itself. Posting pic of our start point at edge of field with yellow X marking where the forest starts and another pic of our end point on river bank for reference. Jessica A.

55Nice private property, quiet and isolated from city noise/other dogs. Cute trails to walk around on the property.
Unfortunately, the river was too high today to get that beautiful rocky shore we have seen but my dog still splashed around! We will definitely come back during a dryer season to have a go at more river time! Nicole P.

55Very nice property. We loved the river, especially.
Since it’s summer, the grass is pretty long and the blackberry bushes are rampant. I made the mistake of wearing shorts and I’m kind of scratched up. A lot of thorns.
I was able to drive down to the woods in a Subaru Impreza, but I’m not sure I’d recommend doing the same. :) Megan S.

55I had a couple of questions and Robin was very responsive! She sent a super helpful map and directions to navigate her large property. Most of the acreage is active farmland, so dogs should stay off it. Right now the water levels are pretty high, so we weren't able to access the sandbank upriver. Still, our dogs had a great time splashing around on a super hot day! I think the price would be more worth it when the water levels go down. We'd like to visit again when the beach is accessible ☺️Kathryn L.

55The river was really high when we went so the usual rocky part you walk out on was under water. It’s not deep so I was able to walk out in my sandals but it is ice cold! Water is moving quick too! (There might be another spot you can walk out in further upstream that I’m not aware of)Sara M.

55This was our second time at this spot, and it was another really lovely visit. The water was much higher this time, but we were able to wade over from the edge of the wooded trail to the shore and hang out in the shade for awhile. Definitely recommend some sort of water friendly shoe/hiking sandals if you’re hoping to enjoy the river this time of year. The dirt road wasn’t muddy at all this time and was easy enough for even our little sedan to drive to the edge of the woods. Will definitely be back again later in the summer. ☺️Michelle N.

55PaJo Ranch is a gorgeous, tranquil spot on the Skykomish River. We had a great time and would love to spend all day here. The river is at the very back of the property, so I would recommend driving down the dirt road as far as your vehicle can safely take you rather than walking the distance. Thanks for sharing this amazing spot with us, Robin!Brittany B.

55Amazing spot! We had no trouble driving at least half way down the dirt road around the corn field in our Outback. Walked the rest of the way as it gets steep in parts. The beach and river were excellent and private! Kids had fun too. Shelby A.

55This was an awesome spot! Loved taking my dogs to the water. Only thing I would change is better marked trails to the water and blackberries be cut back a bit from the road as I’m sure my car did not come out unscathed. But worth the trek regardless!!! I will be coming back for sure! Kaitlyn B.

55This is our 2nd visit. The river was super high so there was barely any shoreline our 1st time, but this time the water had receded to the perfect level. There was plenty of shoreline to roam and relax. The dogs loved fetching sticks in the cold and refreshing water! We had a great time cooling down on a warm day.Kathryn L.

55What a wonderfully relaxing evening at the river! The host was responsive and provided detailed instructions on how to navigate the property, which has a variety of places to explore. We chose to hang out by the river most of the time. There’s a great little rocky beach near shallow water perfect for playing catch and cooling off. There were other dogs on the opposite bank and floating by in the river on boats / paddle boards, so we chose to stay on leash most of the time. We just took it as an opportunity to work on her reactivity and managing distractions. Still a great time and we’ll definitely be back!Caleb D.

55Love this space! We were able to go when the river was down so we could get to the water area and explore on the rocks! Owner is always super responsive and so kind!!! Our dogs go nuts whenever we get remotely close to this location because they know where we are! I had to put my car into 4 wheel drive to get down as close to the water as possible when it was wet out but otherwise it’s a beautiful drive out or walk if you don’t have 4 wheel drive. Emily C.

55Will definitely book again. Includes a hike and a swim that wore our pup out! Tiny fish were jumping in the water, so it was a beautiful destination for us in addition to being the perfect place for our solitary dog to roam. Molly S.

FAQ about our Monroe dog hiking trails
Are dog hiking trails safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, inattentive owners, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks are much safer than a city or county park. With a Sniffspot off-leash area all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 93% of reviews on Sniffspot visits are 5 stars. Our hiking trails tend to be outside the city, which lends to more privacy, but it is also important to follow typical hiking safety precautions, such as potentially having trail maps.
How do I know if a dog hiking trail works for my dog?
Sniffspot provides the tools to find the ideal spot. Start by applying basic filters, such as fencing 6 feet tall and distractions, to find a dog park with trails that works for your dog. You can also filter by size if you are looking for a certain acre park, an expansive off-leash dog park. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our fully fenced dog hiking trails. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our dog hiking trails where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. Since you are looking for trails, make sure to check photos to see if it the spot has flat trails or gnarly trails. You can also browse by specific amenities, if you are looking for a view or a beach, for instance, or other activities or fun features. You can check whether the spot has off or on street parking, the regular park hours, whether it has paved trails or a modern restroom.
What are the requirements to bring my dog to a Sniffspot dog hiking trail?
In order to hike the trails, we require that all dogs have basic vaccinations or equivalent titers. We do not permit dogs with a bite history. We require that guests sign our waiver and agree to follow our safety rules.
Will there be other dogs at the Sniffspot hiking trail at the same time as me?
Sniffspot only allows one booking at a time and any host dogs are required to be kept away from the spot during visits. We also enforce 30 min time buffers between bookings.
How much do Sniffspot hiking trails cost?
Dog hiking trails in the Monroe area range from $4.0 and $4.0. The least expensive dog hiking trail is Cozy Yard Friendly Owner near Greenwood. The most expensive dog hiking trail is Cozy Yard Friendly Owner near Greenwood. Each host sets their own price, so you can check the price on the specific Sniffspot dog park listing.
