The Newburgh Dog House

Our spot is located right across the road from the beautiful Chadwick Lake in Newburgh! We have 1/4 acre fenced in backyard with regularly trimmed grass. About half of the yard is flat and the other half is on a hill. The hill is great for tiring out your pup! It backs up to a wooded area. There is a deck and a patio with furniture and umbrellas. We provide dog toys that are sanitized between visits. Please BYO water and bowl/container. Hope to have you for a visit soon! Overall, the spot is quiet but please read the detailed sections about people, dogs, and domestic animals that can be seen/heard from our spot prior to booking. 60 acres of forest and trails on a woodland preserve. Past our property is the Appalachian Trail. Canopy shade when there are leaves. There are little streams, logs, rocks and all sort of areas for digging, running, jumping and sniffing. There is an upper trail and a lower trail and they both loop together. Up the trail to the right is a deck with chair and table and supplies. You can watch your dog in all directions from this vantage point as they run free and smell all the smells of a forest.

Dog Park Rules • ZERO TOLERANCE FOR AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOR, DOGS OR PERSONS! One aggressive dog can set off a number of other dogs' fight-or-flight instinct. Do yourself and everyone else a favor: if your dog shows any hint of aggression towards another dog, do not come to the dog park until you and your dog have worked intensively with an expert dog handler and your dog is certified safe for the dog park. • Owners must clean up their own dog’s feces. Always pick up after your dog • Owner must be in the park and ALWAYS within view of your dog  • NO CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 12 ALLOWED INSIDE THE FENCE • NO FOOD ALLOWED  • Owners are liable for damage or injury inflicted by their dog upon persons or other dogs • Dogs must be on a leash at all times while entering and exiting the area • Dogs must be off leash in the off-leash area • Owner must have a leash in hand at all times  • Limit 2 dogs per visitor  • Female dogs in heat are prohibited  • All adult dogs (over 8 months) should be neutered  • Dogs and People ONLY. No other animals allowed - No digging allowed; owners responsible for filling holes dug by their dog • All dogs must wear collar and tags. • Small children are at a greater risk of being injured and knocked down at a dog park as they are at the dog’s level and often run and scream, which can overexcite dogs. PARK ETIQUETTE * Take pride in keeping the park clean; Pick up trash within park area * Be polite when notifying others to pick up their dog’s “mess” * Barking should be kept to a minimum * Know when to remove your dog from the park * Don’t discipline another park user’s dog * Dogs should be under voice control of their owner * ABIDE BY THE POSTED RULES!! The future of the Kingston Point Dog Park and perhaps additional dog parks depends on practicing good park etiquette. Remember, we each contribute to the reputation of the community dog parks as either an asset or a liability.

Friends of Beacon Dog Park

Rules & Guidelines • Handlers are required to intercede in any negative interactions between dogs. They should separate the dogs, and techniques used to be sure the dogs do not continue including removing the dogs from the park as necessary. • Off-leash park members, users, and dog owners assume all risks related to park use. • Children 14 and under must be with a supervising adult and supervised at all times. • Dogs must be spayed or neutered. • Dogs must be licensed & up-to-date with rabies vaccinations. • A current Beacon Dog Park membership tag and municipal dog-license tag should be visible on each dog’s collar. • All dogs must be leashed in the parking lot and common entrance area. • Area A is for dogs 30 lbs & under. When no small dogs are present or handlers give permission, all dogs can use this area, as well. • Area B is for all dogs. • As some dogs are leash aggressive, all dogs must be leashed until they enter either containment area and the gate is closed and latched behind them. Please remove leash within containment area before opening gate to the park . Dogs must remain off leash while in the park. • Handlers must maintain control over their dogs at all times while in the park. • Handlers must clean up after their dogs & dispose of dog waste in an appropriate container– this includes the parking area as well. • Dogs are prohibited from digging. Any holes created must be filled in by owners before leaving the park. • Care must be used when dog treats are used with any dog. For potential health issues, no treats should be given to any dog without the dog handler’s permission. Treats may also encourage dogs to congregate around other handlers. Treats must be removed from the park if they are becoming a hazard for other dogs or an annoyance to other handlers. • No human food should be brought into the park. • No animals other than dogs are permitted in the off-leash park. • No excessive barking or noise is permitted. • No excessive mounting: owners should intervene when it is offending another dog. • Aggressive and/or threatening dogs are not permitted. • All dog poop or vomit must be cleaned up as soon as possible after it happens. This requires that handlers constantly monitor the location and behavior of dogs at all times. • Any dog that is suffering from any contagious disease is prohibited from the park. Such dogs are not permitted back into the park until a vet certifies that the dog is no longer contagious. • All other city rules & regulations & municipal ordinances apply. • We highly recommend that you consult your veterinarian regarding which additional vaccines help protect dogs that play together. If anyone observes a violation of any of these rules, please send an email to info@beacondogpark.org detailing the transgression, date and time.

Friendly Paws Dog Park Rules and Permit Conditions 1. All owners of dogs must provide proof of current vaccinations against rabies and proof of current licensing and Dog Park Permit. 2. All dogs must wear identification tag. 3. Owners are solely responsible for the actions of their dogs and shall be responsible for preventing their dog from aggressive acts against other persons or dogs. 4. Female dogs in heat are prohibited. 5. Dogs cannot be tied to benches, fences, or light poles 6. Dogs that have been declared dangerous or aggressive are prohibited. 7. Dog fecal matter must be cleaned up by the dog owners and put into the proper receptacle. 8. Dog owners must be in fenced area with their dogs under visual contact and oral commands when not on a leash. 9. Dog owners must immediately fill any hole their dogs dig. 10. Dogs must be leashed when entering and exiting the Dog Park. 11. Dog owners must have a leash readily available at all times. 12. No smoking or human food allowed in the Dog Park. 13. Small bite sized treats are allowed. 14. Any children 12 years old and younger may accompany the family pet only if they are under direct supervision of an adult. 15. All persons bringing a dog into the Dog Park must have a Town Permit. Fees for such Dog Park permits are non-refundable.
