This exit features a gas station, Grocery Outlet, Tesla charging stations, McDonald’s, Tractor Supply (dog toys!), A&W, a donut shop, Dollar Tree, and more. Winter update…the park has good drainage but there are some wet spots and it is getting a little torn up in areas because the dogs are have too much fun running around. It is not thick gooey mud but expect some dirty paws! This approximately one-acre park is fully fenced with brand new 5’ tall non-climb wire fencing. There are two gates for access: a walk-through gate if you choose to park on the wide gravel shoulder along the road, and a drive-through gate which allows you to bring your vehicle inside the park onto a large gravel parking area to unload your furry friends. Inside the park you will find a gently sloped grassy field with some nice flat areas also. There is a brand-new 12'x14' covered shelter to keep you out of the rain or hot sun. We havea real, vintage fire hydrant for your dog’s “enjoyment”. There is the 'King of the Spot' A climbing play area with ramps for your pups. Dogs only on the play feature please - not for humans to climb on. We also added 3 new resin benches around the spot for your enjoyment. Some rock wall terraces about 2’ to 3’ tall can be used for sitting, and for your larger breed dogs to jump up and down on. There are Adirondack chairs and a large wooden picnic table for the humans as well as the dogs (our Lab loves to jump up on top and take in the view). A water hydrant provides fresh water from our local municipal water source, Tri City Water, and you will find water pails for every size of dog. Nearby is a mailbox with doo doo bags, hand sanitizer, wet wipes, and paper towels. You will also find two wooden crates: one filled with an assortment of toys, and the other provides a nice stick library for your pooch to choose from. Please note: both gates open inwards into the park. Seven or eight months out of the year you will find green grass (and weeds), in the summer months it will be dry dormant grass. The park is always kept mowed (except for fire season) and there will be no tall grass or weedy areas. We do not spray any herbicides or pesticides of any kind inside the park or along the fence lines. This park does not share a fence line with any other properties and there is a wide perimeter around the park on three sides. The fourth side is along Crest Drive, a medium trafficked residential road. There are some neighboring small dogs along the back line that will say hello now and then, but there is a 80’ buffer between the fence lines on this side. We respect your privacy while using the park, and even though we would love to come over and play with every dog visitor and say hello to their humans, we will only meet you by specific request. Generally the park is available to book during daylight hours, but there is some flexibility for your special requests. There is a nice light right across the street that lights up much of the park nicely at night. If you choose to park your vehicle inside the park, please open the gate slowly so that it doesn’t swing against the post too quickly. Both gates have combination locks on them. The current code will be provided upon scheduling your visit. This is a non-smoking park. Alcoholic beverages and drug use are also not allowed in the park. Please do not play loud music in the park. If you are ever unsatisfied with your visit for any reason, we will gladly contact Sniffspot and request a refund. We're easily accessed via Fox Hollow, Chambers, or Bailey Hill. Our property has a 3 acre Fully Fenced & mowed private dog park with a view of Spencers Butte! There's some fun stuff out there including giant tractor tires, a straw bale structure (Pumpkin Parkour!), jumps and an agility tunnel. We're always looking for new ideas and love requests! We also have 7+ acres of Partially Fenced nature area with trails, including forest and fields. We recommend keeping your dog on leash while exploring the trails, as the property is not 100% fenced and there can be deer roaming as well! This area is huge and is a very exciting work in progress.

As winter approaches and post- icepocolyps logging winds down, I would like to test a pricing option. For the winter months, at least, I am going to offer sliding scale discounts. The guest can choose their pay rate for sanctuary use based on their moment-to-moment economic status. Discounts are as follows: $2 off (JMSS2); $4 off (JMSS4); $6 off (JMSS6). Just as a reminder, or for new inquiries, the effort and cost to recover/rebuild Jasper Memorial Sanctuary was extensive and expensive. Material costs were over $5000. Labor costs, had I hired all the hours worked, are over $15,000. The price increase for utilizing the Sanctuary is small in comparison to the expenses incurred from the loss (0.1%). The acreage is a combination of mid-age dense timber, new reforestation, devastation zone and open grass. The area is flanked on two sides by driveway. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹𝘀. Be respectful of wildlife. Deer and turkey roam the property and consider the space their home. If there are wild animals in the sanctuary enclosure upon your arrival, please keep your dog(s) on leash until the other animals have vacated the area. Under no circumstance are dogs allowed to chase wildlife. Domestic and rescued animals that live on the property include horses, donkeys, geese and chickens. It was so wonderful to have our own private dog park. This is still our favorite sniffspot! it's safe and secure, my collies don't pick up a ton of stuff in their coat, and can sniff around all they want. Tonight we got to practice calling them off livestock sounds since we booked a later visit and the hosts were feeding their crew. It was really excellent training practice for our herding pack. We are going to try to visit again during late afternoon when the hosts are doing chores so we train through the noises. The host was super kind to let us know that if we wanted to let them bark, we could, but they also understood that we were using it for a training opportunity. Thank you!! <3

Easy to follow directions, poop bucket & water buckets inside the spot, and neat variability of terrain (some open spaces, some tree covering). A big note for this spot would be that we didn’t hear or see any resident or neighbor dogs the entire visit, which is great for dogs who struggle with dog reactivity and need some decompression time. It was our first visit, but I’ve heard from others they haven’t seen or heard any dogs while there either. We did see a whole gang of turkeys hanging out about 15’ from the parking space when we first pulled up, and some deer to the side of the spot, but this wasn’t a surprise, as Megan’s write up of the property mentions that this is the norm! Overall a beautiful and quiet spot to visit.

We made our first visit today to Jasper Memorial Dog Park and it definitely won’t be the last! The space is clean and well-fenced, with plenty of space to run and explore. We require that guests sign our waiver and agree to follow our safety rules, such as staying within the designated off-leash areas.
