We can’t describe how grateful we are to have found this gem, it’s only a 10 minute drive for us and allowed our pups to run free in the safety of a private field. The location was beautiful and our dogs had so much fun bounding through the tall grass and running to their hearts content. Having two high energy dogs that have dog aggression tendencies has been challenging as they love the freedom of being off leash but we always struggled finding a safe place for them to roam so they rarely ever get that opportunity. But now finding this location, and seeing how much joy it brought our pups and how tired they were after their short visit I can honestly say we are planning on becoming regulars. ❤️ And thank you Janice for being so friendly and welcoming! 🐾

What a great big field to romp in! The grass was quite tall, which made for good entertainment watching my pup bound over it. Lots of thistles too unfortunately but a little better in the main track path. My pup loved jumping in and out of the swampy puddles - just be prepared to get your feet wet because you can’t always tell where they start. We will be back.

We visited today with 2 dogs, one who a rescue with reactivity towards other dogs so finding a safe space to let her run and practice recall can be challenging. Janice, the owner, is friendly and quick to answer questions. There is plenty of open space which makes it easy to keep track of the dogs. There are only a few wildlife trials in the open area so tall boots are a necessity. The snow definitely makes for a good workout for both humans and dogs. If one didn’t want to walk as much there are several high points to watch the dogs run from. My 7 year old wanted to explore though, so we got nearly as much exercise as the dogs! We would definitely visit again!

Love this location! Easy access from Edmonton, and the dogs have a great time bouncing around the field, checking out the woods and investigating all sorts of tracks and smells.

Today was our first time visiting and we really enjoyed ourselves! We have 3 socially awkward dogs so it's hard to go places without always being on guard but we were able to do that today. There isn't any signage other than telling you where to park but it was easy enough to find (just up the hill as instructed prior to booking) and other than the trail leading up to the field area the walking trails aren't groomed but that isn't a must for us - we quite enjoyed trekking through the deep snow and the dogs had a blast zooming through it! The field provides a nice open area to play with your dog and keep an eye on them while you hike but there are bushes off to the side that lead into the neighbors lots so you want to make sure your dog has good recall and won't take off. Hoping to come play again soon! We loved this place and it doesn't get much better than 40 acres. Huge thank you from us (Teagan and Beck) and love and licks from 3 very tired boys - Marcus, Tucker, and Jasper 🐶.

Although it was bitter cold, my dogs had a blast!!! so much space to run! Area was clean. I was a bit uncertain where to park, and what areas i was allowed to walk with the dogs.

We have two dogs and one is very reactive so he doesn’t do well at the off leash dogs parks. We were looking for a place to bring them to run around freely to play. This had tonnes of space for them. We will definitely return!

Spring is here and this sniffspot is green and woodsy with lots for the pups to explore. The owners have done great things with the road to the back field - the wire fence has been removed and they've been tidying up some of the underbrush. Highly recommend this location for a nice jaunt. There is a little bit of a pond at bottom of the hill by the entrance, so if your dog, like mine, enjoys the squishy feeling of mud between their toes, you might want to bring a towel...

Nice area! Exactly as described on the site. The reservation emails had clear instructions and directions. Clean and there was a garbage can and items for use right where you parked.

Nice yard for our dogs. They loved being able to run around and play fetch! The fencing was nice and high and private. Perfect spot to park on the street right across from the entrance! We will be going again!

Are dog parks good for dogs?

It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.

Are dog parks safe?

While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers).
