Our little slice of heaven is certified a National Wildlife Refuge. We have a large variety of birds and pollinators. We have a walking/bike riding trail, dog sensory gardens, an orchard to pick fruit from when in season, splash pools, agility equipment, horses next door to get to know, meadows to play in and sometimes there are foster puppies to meet. We have lots of spaces for humans to enjoy too; ie firepit ara with lots of seating, a couple picnic tables and various other seating for conversation and gathering.

Very clean yard since I pick up after my own dogs daily. You can sit and relax or enjoy your book or bring a date. Squirrels and birds will make your visit more exciting. Welcome to Koda and I's personal paradise, featuring several horses and a donkey! Stop by and visit us as a side quest so you can relax and enjoy the view in a peaceful, quiet countryside setting both you and your dog(s) will enjoy! Choose to either kick back and let your dog go full steam ahead in the .5 acre, four foot, fully fenced pup play yard, which has been vetted by dogs small and large, puppies and seniors, and both high energy and couch potatoes alike, or do some on leash training or long lead play in the accompanying open field next to the enclosed yard. Our yard has been tested (and approved) by Pomeranians, Yorkies, Beagles, Pitties, Whippets, and all of our Sniffspot visitors, and it's even horse proof! Natural grass fills the property, with only the occasional use of weed killer along fencelines to keep up with property maintenance and stay on top of bugs. There are several huge shade trees that my pup and his friends enjoy laying under. If you are looking to desensitize your pup to horses, reach out and I may be able to arrange turn out so they can get up close and personal, while maintaining the barrier of the fence. But otherwise, the Spot and the horse pastures are completely separate from each other, giving you and your pups a chance to admire from a distance! Hidden River Farm is a 40 plus acre paradise for humans and dogs. We opened our organic orchard 6 years ago and it operates annually from June to October. So we have decided to try to open it up for use year around if possible. We welcome folks to bring their dogs out to run, retrieve, train or just play for awhile to get the energy out. There is an abundance of land. We offer a picnic area with table and chairs. Both tables offer umbrellas for shade if needed. We have water spigots so that the dogs can have clean drinking water. We also are breeders of Champion Labrador Retrievers. We have chickens, ducks, donkeys, horse and more. We are a working farm that believes sharing is a great thing these days.

2 acre field and wooded area open for exploring. Digging is perfectly fine! Trails through the wooded area and wetland area. Become one with nature or even do some bird watching. Roll around in the mud if you like and then feel free to hose off. Fire pit available on occasion.

We have an amazing flat backyard that is fully fenced in! We live in the country so it’s a really nice scenic route to get here full of farms and cows. There is even a vineyard nearby. We just bought this property, so how it is now is just before photo! We plan to make wonderful things out of this yard! My husbands favorite activity is to cut and maintain grass! We also have our front yard which is just as large but it’s not fenced in. It is yours to use as well it you want more walking space. There will be a kiddie pool for doggies and as many toys as we can have last in the yard for the doggies (but my pups love to destroy)! We are kinda out here so make sure to bring your favorite kind of food and drinks if you plan on visiting for the full 4 hours. The closest places are a couple of gas stations and a Dollar General. I do have snacks and bottled water! You can also buy pool time, sprinkler time, bath time (shampoo/nail clippers/ear cleaner) for additional charges. Just let me know before the visit! Also, bring any obstacle items or anything you want to place in the yard to practice with or use for your dog. Full Disclosure: We do get muddy after rain and are currently working on a solution for that!

This is the site of a forming intentional community. We are making it livable one step at a time. We bought the land cleared and in the meantime, use our 200+ acres to host hip camp, make bike trails and kayak out in areas. Attractions: Enter into one of the main parking areas by the house or keep driving! 1/2 mile down the road is another parking area. Keep going on that road and you’ll see a barn. Then, if you eventually curve to the right as you go down hill you might be able to figure out how to get to the big stream. The stream is sandy creek and that leads to the Banister river, which leads to the Dan. In about the middle of that main stretch, there is a road to the left that will bring you to a pond. I take my foxhound dog here while we hike the trails and work on the land. I found her on the side of the highway and found the owner but he didn’t want her back. I was going through a hard time. I did not intend on getting a dog, let alone a former hunting dog with such active needs! She had a lot of issues to figure out. We are both independent creatures which in the beginning was a source of trouble but now is a source of understanding. This land has been a blessing in us finding our balance. I can’t take her most places and let her off leash because her breed habit is to wander. She needs exercise. She has a need to run. She is so happy when we come here. She knows it means freedom. If it wasn’t for places like this, I would have a very frustrated pup! This place has helped us love each other. I hope you can experience the same!

My backyard is completely fenced.

50 acres total, with plowed and cleared trails for dirt bikes, four wheelers, etc. The house on-site is inoperable. There is no running water, no toilet, and no electricity. However, there are 50 acres of totally private woods and trails, plus you can letj your dogs run loose. Close to downtown Chase City where there are gas stations and places to eat. Camping on the property is available.
