Hidden River Farm is a 40 plus acre paradise for humans and dogs. We opened our organic orchard 6 years ago and it operates annually from June to October. So we have decided to try to open it up for use year around if possible. We welcome folks to bring their dogs out to run, retrieve, train or just play for awhile to get the energy out. There is an abundance of land. We offer a picnic area with table and chairs. Both tables offer umbrellas for shade if needed. We have water spigots so that the dogs can have clean drinking water. We also are breeders of Champion Labrador Retrievers. We have chickens, ducks, donkeys, horse and more. We are a working farm that believes sharing is a great thing these days.

Got a big, energetic dog who needs a lot of space to run? You’ve found it! We are a haven for dogs with Strong Opinions about things! 🤗 Doesn’t love people? Come on over! Hates other pets? That’s cool! Lives to chase and eat squirrels and moles? We’re overrun, you do you! We are blessed with 12 gorgeous acres in the pasture. We also have plenty of wildlife—depending on how rambunctious your dog might be, you may see otters, soft shelled turtles, tortoises, wood ducks, raccoons, armadillos, rabbits, and squirrels. We also have a plentiful supply of water birds—herons, egrets, and more. Parking is on the left side of the road next to the fence. Please bring your own scoop and poop bags, water,and chairs. PLEASE NOTE: We are specifically requesting that you do NOT come to our farm to “check us out” WITHOUT AN APPOINTMENT. Please respect that is also our home, and we are closed to anyone who doesn’t have an appointment. For our security and the safety of our guests and their dogs, we have surveillance cameras in use at all our entrances.

Our dog Ollie had the most amazing time. I am pretty sure this is the happiest day of his life. I could tell he felt so free and excited to be in such a large open space. My partner and I had such an amazing time walking on the trails that were super flat and safe to walk on. We loved seeing the goats, and Ollie was definitely intrigued by them! There are chairs if you’d like to sit and enjoy the quiet, but we decided to walk 3 laps around the place and just had the best morning. Absolutely will return because I’ve never seen our dog so happy!

This completely exceeded our expectations ... beautiful property with a clearly marked trail, good fencing, rustic setting ... a great experience all around. This is the first time one of our dogs has roamed off leash outside of a dog park and I'm sure it was the best day of her life. She just loved it. The way the property is designed we felt in control and safe should one them wander off. Thank you so much for making your property available and allowing us to share it with the dogs. We'll definitely be a regular!

This was our first Sniffspot experience and it went amazing! (And def won't be our last) Property is huge and beautiful, the dogs loved every minute of goat spotting and zoomies - and slept the whole way home :)

This was absolutely an amazing place for my dogs! It was completely fenced in so I felt very comfortable letting my dogs off leash right away. It’s huge! There are woods, a walking trail that’s marked with flags, multiple areas to sit, many trash cans to dispose of dog messes. There is also a wide open grass space in the front of the house that my dogs loved playing tag with one another. Carol was amazing- she left a couple buckets of water for the dogs, which was great because they were super thirsty after all the sniffing and running. Instructions to get in were super easy. My dogs were super interested in the goats, it was very cute. My pup decided it was so awesome that when it was time to leave he ran back out to explore. Carol was super sweet and offered to help (after she checked to make sure I was okay with her coming out) and then we got to meet her sweet fur baby Amber. My playful pup still had enough energy that he was able to play with her also- he was super happy and completely worn out after! We will definitely be back and very very highly recommend this sniff spot!! If I could give 10 stars I would! Thank you so much Carol for having us!

Great sniff spot! Fully fenced- my 25-pound dog got excited by something on the other side at one point (maybe a deer) and started to try to squeeze through one of the bigger squares in the wire fencing. Thankfully, he got almost halfway through and backed out. Both dogs really wore themselves out running. It was great!

If I could give this spot a hundred stars I would. This is a completely fenced in very large area for dogs to just run and sniff to their hearts content. Carol is an amazing host- very accommodating putting out bowls of water, toys, poop bags, chairs for humans, and even maps of the property that are marked along a trail for hiking, now both inside the fence and outside. My fur baby just adores playing with Amber and goes home such a happy, exhausted boy. This is our favorite Sniffspot!

My Goober & Honey Bea absolutely ❤️ this spot. They howl with joy as I turn into the driveway & they wait @ the gate. I got them to finally sit still for a picture this time. Carol is very kind and clearly is committed to hosting. She’s got everything you might need nicely appointed at various place with water buckets, toys (LOTS of balls) scattered about (OK my dogs help distribute), places to sit, and well marked trails plus a poop station with supplies.

I was traveling with my big boys and utilized this spot, and it was beyond perfect! Carol was amazing working with me and all of my messages with potential time changes due to holiday traffic. This spot was EVERYTHING my boys needed. They loved the “woods-ie” feel and I was so comforted knowing they were free to run with a fence. The map was also a cute and nice touch! I would likely stop here every time we travel in the future!

Are dog hiking trails safe?

While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, inattentive owners, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks are much safer than a city or county park. With a Sniffspot off-leash area all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 93% of reviews on Sniffspot visits are 5 stars. Our hiking trails tend to be outside the city, which lends to more privacy, but it is also important to follow typical hiking safety precautions, such as potentially having trail maps.

In order to hike the trails, we require that all dogs have basic vaccinations or equivalent titers. We do not permit dogs with a bite history. We require that guests sign our waiver and agree to follow our safety rules.

Will there be other dogs at the Sniffspot hiking trail at the same time as me?

Sniffspot only allows one booking at a time and any host dogs are required to be kept away from the spot during visits. We also enforce 30 min time buffers between bookings.
