55Lots of trails, swampy. Our dog doesn't like water, but good practice for her to practice very small water crossings. We may have wandered off the property near the power lines, not sure.Rachel R.

55We were so happy to find this sniffspot 2 minutes from home. It is quite easy to find and navigate. Large open area and space for our 4yo and 10yo dogs to get some off leash excercise. Our dogs dont play "fetch" but perfect areas to throw balls and practice recalls. Some areas are extremely muddy so I would suggest you wear your boots. We did hear some gun shots in the distance but it didnt bother our younger one at all (which shocked us because she is extremely sensitive to gun shots and firework) We didnt stay the entire hour (almost though ) only because the older pup gets tired but we will definitely be back....alot! Host was super nice too! Thanks for sharing your space.Leslie D.

55This was our first time to Sniffspot and it was great. Nicole emailed us beforehand to let us know her husband was dropping off some dirt in the area. We had a chance to chat with him and he was really nice and informative. The area was spread out. The large, initial clearing was nice to play fetch, then we walked down a path to a small clearing and used that to place more fetch. There were some muddy spots, but that's to be expected in the PNW. It was all clean, accessible and we'll definitely be back. Thank you for hosting us! Tera a.

55Great spot with lots of things to explore and sniff. The tree down currently is not difficult to walk over, especially for border collies, although small dogs or those with difficulty walking might have issues. The steep path up the hill is a workout and my dogs loved racing up and down it!
If you plan to follow the power line trail, wear your muck boots - that was very muddy! Joy A.

55This place is amazing! There are a few trails to walk and some open space for running or fetching. There are some pretty wet/muddy areas, but I was totally fine with hiking boots. Will definitely be back!Ashley B.

55One of the best sniffspots in the area! Be sure to bring your hiking boots and be aware of thorns when you enter the hilltop trail and big hill straight ahead. If you don’t want a challenge there’s plenty of space at the bottom. Nicole was kind enough to come down with her dog to tell me how to navigate the area and answer questions. My dog had so much fun he passed out in the car! Successful trip. Kari C.

55This spot was perfect for my pup & family! We got to hike up a nice hill & get Amos nice and worn out. The terrain is not flat so best for athletic dogs who like a challenge. Note for owners whose dogs are reactive to barking, I could hear a neighbor’s dog barking in the distance from time to time, which was fine for Amos but might be scary to dogs who can’t tolerate barking :)Robyn H.

55It was easy to find the place, following the instruction. It was so nice to explore this large property. Our dog enjoyed chasing balls in the meadow area off to the left. It looked like the path from the meadow kept going but it was really muddy so we turned around. It was peaceful and relaxing to be there! We did hear some dogs bark loudly in the neighborhood, which my dog did not really care about, but mentioning in case anyone's dogs are sensitive to that. Kaoru W.

55I have a reactive dog and this spot was great! The owner of this sniffspot let me know you can hear dogs barking at their property, but the dogs were far enough away that it didn't phase my dog. The ferny uphill section was well groomed like a real hiking trail, though some other trails had very thick thorny vines my long lead got snagged on. I appreciated the trash can for poop bags near the entrance.Mary C.

55This spot is great for dogs with good recall to just explore and sniff around! We spent the full hour just walking around enjoying the trails. It gets a little muddy/swampy in the lower trails but it wasn't a problem with boots and an inquisitive dog! We did hear barking from the neighbors, if your dog is triggered by that maybe not their spot. Samantha G.

55Beautiful country feel close by! The old maple trees, forested trails and lush green spaces are gorgeous to walk around. My doggies had huge smiles romping around, and our time was very quiet , we heard one dog bark in the far distance and an eagle screaming which was very cool. The old barn and horse outbuildings make me want to know more of the history of this property, a true hidden gem.Kristin s.

55Our pup had a great time! We booked for an hour which was perfect. The steep hill is no joke, but it was a great workout 😅 It was really quiet for the first part of our visit, but we did hear some dogs barking, and she got a little nervous, but we just walked back toward the start for a bit until she was able to calm down, so it ended up being good practice for her in a safe environment. We also saw what looked like a nice park on the way nearby if your dog can do parks and still has energy after 😊We will definitely be back! Lara M.

FAQ about our Clinton dog hiking trails
Are dog hiking trails safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, inattentive owners, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks are much safer than a city or county park. With a Sniffspot off-leash area all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 93% of reviews on Sniffspot visits are 5 stars. Our hiking trails tend to be outside the city, which lends to more privacy, but it is also important to follow typical hiking safety precautions, such as potentially having trail maps.
How do I know if a dog hiking trail works for my dog?
Sniffspot provides the tools to find the ideal spot. Start by applying basic filters, such as fencing 6 feet tall and distractions, to find a dog park with trails that works for your dog. You can also filter by size if you are looking for a certain acre park, an expansive off-leash dog park. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our fully fenced dog hiking trails. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our dog hiking trails where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. Since you are looking for trails, make sure to check photos to see if it the spot has flat trails or gnarly trails. You can also browse by specific amenities, if you are looking for a view or a beach, for instance, or other activities or fun features. You can check whether the spot has off or on street parking, the regular park hours, whether it has paved trails or a modern restroom.
What are the requirements to bring my dog to a Sniffspot dog hiking trail?
In order to hike the trails, we require that all dogs have basic vaccinations or equivalent titers. We do not permit dogs with a bite history. We require that guests sign our waiver and agree to follow our safety rules.
Will there be other dogs at the Sniffspot hiking trail at the same time as me?
Sniffspot only allows one booking at a time and any host dogs are required to be kept away from the spot during visits. We also enforce 30 min time buffers between bookings.
