A .63 acre dog sanctuary for you and your pup. The yard is well maintained with dog friendly grass and has incredible views of the Hood Canal and Puget Sound. If you're interested, there is private beach access for you and your pup to explore miles of beach (public but almost always empty). There are numerous dog toys available and a massive 6+ person, dog friendly couch (late Spring to early Fall) you can relax on and watch the canal when you need a break! Regarding the beach, there are approximately 50 steps which you will need to climb up and down to access the beach so please wear proper footwear. As this is on the Hood Canal and not a lake or a pond, tides impact the size of the beach. If you are hoping to walk endless miles of beach, the tide will need to be at 2ft or below. Anything under 4ft will give you a massive area (probably 1/2 mile or more) and almost guaranteed private area as only people with stairs can access the beach at this tide level. Though the beach is open at any point, I think the maximum height you would probably want to go is about 6.5ft. This still gives you and your dog a decent sized area to play in (approximately 500ft by 30ft or 1/2 acre). Photos 16 and 17 show the beach at 6.25ft with a very large sandy area for you and your pup to play in. Anything above 6.5 ft is not recommended as the beach just gets thinner and thinner, but you're able to try if you want. (no refunds given if you don't like what you find). You are responsible for checking out the tides before you go. Legally, I can't recommend any specific source for you to use, but you might find good information Googling "tide chart port ludlow". Regarding ADA Accessibility, my property is on a gently sloping hill. To access it, there are 2 very wide concrete steps to get to the grass. This would be doable for someone on crutches and probably ok for a regular wheelchair if you had a second person to help lower you to each step and pull you up. It's definitely not accessible to a motorized wheelchair. Sorry. Note - restroom is only available if I'm home, otherwise there is one approximately 2 miles northwest at the gas station in Port Ludlow

We offer five acres of partially mowed fields and a natural wooded area. There is a small pond and access to South Prairie Creek. The creek has a variable current, so it may be best for larger dogs. The pond would be ideal for smaller dogs who aren't strong swimmers. Trails began as deer/elk trails but have been improved. There are some small logs and rocks here and there to step over so sturdy shoes are recommended. The leaves that cover the trails in the fall may be a little slippery, so take care.

My dog LOVED the stream, there were still some spots deep enough to swim. She didn’t notice the horses until we were up a bit on the hill and we could see them over the fence/reeds. She barked a little as she’s never seen horses before but it was easy enough to call her away from them and keep her occupied with the water feature. The shaded areas with seating and water for dogs and humans were lovely. Cool spot!

An enchanted park! Host has thought of everything. Has shade, seating, and water. Property is beautiful, and so serene. Horses are visible, but at a distant behind tall reeds. Gently flowing creek present. Very quiet. Host was very kind, helped us with the gate. Highly recommend this spot.

The sniffspot I use to take my pup to is no longer open this new spot popped up and I gave it a try today. I really loved it. My pup loved the water. I liked the table and chairs to sit at. Our dogs absolutely loved this spot. My dog doesn’t usually wade by himself into water but he loved the creek. The doggos had a great sniff time and playtime. The host Todd was amazing and offered us extended time. I suggest booking this spot for longer duration say 1.5-2 hours to enjoy it to the fullest especially if traveling from Seattle.

Definitely a new favorite spot. The creek is great, though our dogs didn’t take huge advantage of it but it didn’t look too deep to me so pretty safe generally. The space was really nice with the layout of it definitely being big enough to get up to speed but also various bushy areas and the creek for the dogs to play chase games around. The lounging area for people is a great touch with chairs, a table, binoculars etc. also a dog water bowl and water available and garbage for poop and an assortment of dog toys which was great because I forgot mine. We could see the horses but I don’t think the dogs did. We could hear neighboring dogs barking and children playing but never saw any dogs or kids and the noise was faint, clearly in the distance. Perfect spot to relax and let the dogs play without having to pay too close attention to the pups

This place is awesome! Our dogs ran more than ever before and my dog that isn’t a fan of water was even playing in the creek! Both dogs really wanted to play with the chickens lol so we tried to keep them in the Creekside area so they wouldn’t bother them. Once it was time to leave we came to our car and there was a bouquet of beautiful flowers. We will definitely be back!!

What are the requirements to bring my dog to a Sniffspot park?

We require that all dogs have basic vaccinations or equivalent titers. We do not allow dogs with a bite history. We require that owners sign our waiver and agree to follow our safety rules. We also require that pet owners follow safety protocols around water features.

Will there be other dogs at the Sniffspot park at the same time as me?

No. We only allow one booking at a time and any host dogs are required to be kept away from the area during visits. So when you book a Sniffspot park you have the entire place to yourself and your dog-owning friends if you invite them. We also enforce 30 min time buffers between bookings so you will not run into other park patrons when coming or leaving.
