There is plenty of space for your four legged friends to run and play. Our large trees and covered patio provide shade when you need a break from the sun. Sit by the lake and enjoy duck and bird sightings. Bring lunch and enjoy it on the back patio table with seating for six or lounge on the four lounge chairs under the umbrellas. If you come by in the early evening, you can catch a sunset from the Adirondack chairs or the lake. Pawgrass at Welleby Park

All dogs must be on a maximum 6-foot leash before entering or exiting the dog park. Pawgrass at Welleby Park is an unsupervised, self-directed, off-leash dog park. Dog owners/handlers assume all responsibility for their dogs. Entrance and exit gates must be secured at all times. All dogs must have a current rabies tag affixed to their collar or harness. Puppies under 4-months old are not permitted inside the dog park. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dog. Dog waste must be disposed of immediately and completely. Bags are not guaranteed. Please bring your own, just in case! Adult supervision of dogs and children under 12 is required at all times. There is a limit of three dogs per adult handler. Sick or injured dogs are not allowed inside the dog park. Aggressive dogs and dogs in heat are not allowed inside the dog park. Food of any kind is prohibited. Choke, spike, pinch and prong collars are prohibited. Bike riding, skateboarding, rollerblading and skating are prohibited. Professional dog trainers are not permitted without a City of Sunrise Park Instructor Permit.

Barkland

A. Barkland is open daily from 7:30am to sunset. All persons and dogs must vacate the park when it is not open. B. All dogs must have current rabies shots and current rabies tag and license displayed on their collar or harness at all times. Dangerous dogs, as defined under Section 767.11, Florida Statues, are prohibited from entering Barkland. C. All dog waste must be disposed of immediately and completely by placing the waste in the proper container in Barkland. D. If a dog exhibits aggressive behavior it must be removed from the park immediately by the handler. The handler shall immediately comply with any directive from a Park Ranger or Broward Sherriff’s Deputy with respect to a direction to remove a dog exhibiting aggressive behavior. E. Owners or handlers of a dog must be with the dog at all times and may bring a maximum of two (2) dogs per person per visit. F. Dogs must have a collar and held by a leash when entering or exiting the park. Handlers must a carry a leash for each dog in their care while in the park. All handlers shall keep their dogs under visual and voice control at all times. G. Dogs that are in heat or sick are not allowed in the park. H. No animals other than dogs are permitted. I. Puppies under four (4) months of age are not permitted in the park. J. Children under the age of twelve (12) must be supervised by an adult at all times. K. If a dog digs, the owner or handler is responsible for stopping its behavior and refilling the area. L. No food, treats, alcoholic beverages (soft drinks and water are allowed), strollers, bicycles, or children’s toys are allowed in the dog park. M. Choke, prong, pinch and spike collars are not allowed in the park. N. Professional dog trainers are not permitted to use this facility for training. O. Dog pools are prohibited. O. Use of this facility shall be for a dog park; any other use is prohibited. Q. Owners and/or handlers shall immediately report all incidents in which his/her dog bites a human or another dog to the Broward Sheriff’s Office at (954)764-4357. Unless immediate medical attention is required for the dog or the handler, the handler shall wait at Barkland with the dog. R. All dogs must be accompanied by a handler while in Barkland. S. All handlers shall be at least 16 years of age. T. Barkland has separately designated areas of the park for dogs of different sizes. All handlers shall only place their dogs in the areas set aside for dogs their size. Dogs and their handlers, who violate these rules are subject to removal from the park and possible suspension of right to use the park and the handler shall be subject to prosecution for violation of a municipal ordinance. A handler who refuses an instruction to remove their dog from the park where such instruction is given by a Park Ranger or Broward Sheriff’s Officer working in the City shall be subject to separate prosecution for violation of this ordinance in addition to the action which caused the City to request removal of the dog.

Palm Beach County-operated dog parks are unsupervised recreational areas. All users are advised that the use of Lake Ida Dog Park, Lake Woof Dog Park, Pooch Pines Dog Park, or Canine Cove Dog Park is at their own risk. Persons who violate these rules are subject to removal from the park and/or suspension. No food of any kind is permitted in the dog park. Smoking is not permitted within the fenced areas. Large dogs are not permitted in the small dog area. Dog feces must be cleaned up by handler. Disposable bags are available at dispenser locations within the park. Dog handler must be in the park enclosure and within view of their dog. Dogs must be leashed prior to entering and upon leaving the dog park and must be restrained at all times at a distance no greater than six feet in length from their handler. There is a limit of 2 dogs per person. Dogs must be removed from the park at the first sign of aggression. Dangerous dogs, as defined in Palm Beach County Ordinance No. 98-22, the Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control Ordinance, are prohibited from park property. Dog handler must have leash in hand at all times. Female dogs in heat are prohibited from entering the dog park. Dogs should be under voice control (i.e. come when called). Dogs must be vaccinated and display current licenses. Puppies under 4 months of age are prohibited. Spayed/Neutered animals are recommended. 1. No more than three (3) dogs per person are permitted. With other pets and their owners nearby, it may be difficult to maintain control and safety of more than three dogs. 2. Dogs that are in heat, ill, and/or contain known internal or external parasites (fleas, ticks, worms, etc.) are not permitted. Female dogs in heat can and will attract the attention of male dogs. This may cause aggressive and unpredictable behavior. Fleas, ticks, and worms are susceptible to transmittal. 3. For the safety of your dog: choke, prong, or spike collars are not permitted. Collars such as these may be prone to getting tangled or caught with other items. 4. Dog handlers are responsible for the cleaning of feces with personal equipment or the equipment provided at the facility. Designated bins are available for disposal of waste. Please help in keeping Trails & Tails Park clean. SCOOP YOUR POOP! 5. For the safety and sanitation of our guests, all visitors are required to wear shoes. Though our facility is kept clean, traveling barefoot through Trails & Tails Park increases the risk of exposure to germs or other items left behind. 6. For their safety, dogs under the age of four (4) months are not permitted. The majority of young pups do not respond well to commands given by the owner. Having such a lack of control may put these puppies in harm's way. 7. All dog handlers must stay within reasonable distance and view of their pets and assume any damage or injury that are caused by their pet. Failure to keep your dog in reasonable distance and/or view may result in incidents of neglect. 8. No glass or food. Smoking is only permitted in the parking lot area. With broken glass, it may be difficult to ensure all glass was properly picked up, creating an unsafe environment for other dogs. Food may cause unwanted aggression from other dogs. Smoking is not permitted in any City of Doral park. 9. The City of Doral is not liable for injury or damage to people, pets, or property. All incidents should be reported to park staff. Though the City of Doral releases all claims of injury or damage, all incidents with other pets or pet owners should be reported and documented with the park staff on duty. 10. Dogs must be leashed during entry and exit from the designated play areas. A leash ensures absolute control by the dog owner. Should aggressive behavior be presented, a leash is a useful tool in protecting your dog 11. Digging is not permitted. It is the responsibility of dog handlers to restore any holes created by their pets. Digging will diminish the beautiful landscaping of our facility. These holes will also result in safety hazards for other guests if not filled in immediately. 12. No animals other than dogs are permitted. This facility is dog-friendly and may not be the right environment for other pets. The sight of other animals may affect the behavior of visiting owners and dogs.
