We live on 15 acres, and now have 1.5 acres fully fenced! It is all very flat land making for an easy stroll with your dogs. We are boarded on two edges by farm fields and two edges by neighbors. There is a trail that circles the property, with plenty of space to explore. During the summer, please take advantage of the small kiddie pool. There are also toys and chairs in the fenced area for all guests. Some seasonal things to keep in mind: Spring/fall when we have heavy rain, some areas could have standing water and/or be muddy. Mid to late summer, there are fox tails (cheat grass) that can cling to your dogs. Winter, the trails might not be plowed. There will be a 5gal bucket in the wood shed (inside the fenced area) full of water you can use to refill the two water bowls. Keep an eye out for trip hazards! Logs, sticks, uneven ground and holes.

The 50 acres is mostly timber, with a 7 acre pond that has water in it most of the year. It will dry up on really hot years. I do have chickens and pack goats by the house. But they are inside mesh fencing, so your dogs won’t be able to get to them. The 50 acres is completely fenced with a 3 to 5 strand Barbwire fence. It’s in good shape. It is also the property boundary. So as long as you stay inside of the fence, you will be on the property. There are not a lot of neighbors but the ones I have are nice. When you come up the driveway, you can pass the house and drive up on the hill and Park at the conex container. There is lots of wildlife on the property, and I highly recommend that your dog has some sort of tick repellent, we do have ticks in the spring time. The upper part of the driveway is not graveled, so if there’s melting snow, or a lot of ran, it can get muddy. So be prepared for that. This was my first time going to a sniff spot. My 2yr old border collie LOVED it, she ran for the majority of our 2hrs here. She enjoyed all the smells and was very intrigued by what looked like a baby bunny under the woodshed. Lovely spot with an even amount of sunshine as well as shade. Nice seating provided in two shaded spots, one in the wooded area of the property and the other under a nice private run-in shed. Water, bowls, dog pool, fenced in area (that we didn’t explore much) and well marked trails. Host even provided a map of the property and options on the ground. Clean property, clean trash, clean seats, and a lovely little oasis. Felt plenty safe and enjoyed the quiet with my young daughter and our dog. Extremely appreciative of Colin and his family for their hospitality. We will definitely be back when we come through the area again.

I arranged to meet a friend at this Sniffspot so that my two dogs and my friends’ dogs could have an off-leash play date. It was the perfect venue. The dogs had a blast and there was plenty to sniff. This is a great spot! Definitely check out the trail map which is in the covered area by the parking spot, it outlines where the neighboring dogs might be off leash so you can keep an eye out. There’s plenty of other property if you are wanting to avoid dogs and people, and the fenced area is plenty fun!!
